Yo /biz/, a couple months back I was on here asking for insight. I had just moved from the left coast and had no job, no car, and was living on the couches of old ladies I met at a church. I had about $60k in savings and most here were telling me to simultaneously go fuck myself and buy ETH. I ended up buying a used car, getting a 15yr mortgage on a decent house, and work a comfy job in outside sales. I'll be turning 22 in August and starting community college in fall.

Anybody else feeling good about the near future?

Hey, /biz/, I'll spare the blogging and cut to the numbers. I'm currently 20 years old and looking to finish an Applied Mathematics degree by age 23.

Trying to fit into normal society isn't working, so I'd like to return to recluse mode and live out the rest of my days online as soon as financially possible. Here's my estimated list of expenses.

Home: $100,000
Property tax: $75,000 for 50 years though property tax shouldn't even be legal but whatever.
Car: $25,000, 5-year maintenance cost included.
Bicycle: $500 if I'm feeling super fancy or something, otherwise like $100
Food: $500 a month. Overestimating costs.
Entertainment (Best available internet, buying games, legitimately acquiring animu and toys and shit.): $750/month.
Utilities (Based on average in area, scaled for size of home): $150/month.

Other expenses (clothing, vacation (My "vacations" would cost like $500 tops unless I wanted to go feel awkward in Japan or something), investing) per annum: $10,000

So is it possible to reach that point before 30? I don't intend to never attempt to make money again; I really want to create websites for kids/teenagers. I get nostalgic for that shit and want to help some other people's childhoods be less shitty.

But I'd like to be able to live comfortably before throwing it all on that sort of deal, since those sites aren't pulling Facebook-tier returns, and I have no intention of running ads on them.

So in total:

Money required: $468,000 for 10 years of living with those expenses.
Time alloted to get it before being 31: 10 years
Time left before getting a degree: 2-3 years
Time alloted to get that money while having an Applied Mathematics degree: 7-8 years.
Required savings per year post-college: $59,000 - $67,000 per year.
Unknown variable trends: Inflation/recession/medical emergencies.

I inherited a bunch of vending machine parts and stuff about 6 months ago and have been selling off part by part on eBay. I've sold about 50 items and have had 6 buyers attempt to scam me. I take down the serial number and take numerous photos of everything I sell. 4 of them bought an item from me and tried to return the broken one they were replacing claiming it was the one I sent. Other 2 stripped smaller parts from what they go and tried to send it back as incomplete.

My question is, everytime this happens my paypal gets frozen and I've got to deal with fighting eBay and these idiots with proof. What steps can I take to prevent this?

$4k/ month net income from a couple of businesses, 95% passive.

$1,200/ month expenses. Drive shit car, wear cheap clothes, don't drink, live with roommate, etc.

Single but steady gf so not wasting $ chasing bitches.

Total net worth 800k. between business, real estate, brokerage account. Mostly from savings and capital gains selling previous business, but 200k is real estate from inheritance.

What do I do now? No degree but I'm willing to get one. I would love to do something from home that has minimal overhead but good potential upside. I tried trading, no thanks.

No, that would actually be illegal. Robinhood graphs are just shit and only show you an average, not-really-realtime price. To get Bid/Ask prices and important things like candlestick graphs, you should use a more robust platform.

Otherwise you should be using Yahoo/Google finance or even Stocktwits for your graphing in addition to Robinhood.

I'm looking at buying my first house and I'm wondering if I should get another credit card before I go the bank looking for a loan.

I currently have only one credit card with a pretty low limit. I got it a few years ago for the sole purpose of building credit. Usually just a couple of small purchases a month, and then I pay it off in full. If I get a second one it will used identically.

I have decent credit but from what I understand, the 'more' credit you have available, the higher your credit score.

What does /biz/ think?

my car is starting to have transmission problems. its got 180k miles on it, needs new tires, new belts, will need new brakes before the winter, has some exhaust problems so may need a new catalytic converter soon too.

i havent had a car loan in 7 years, and when i did, i payed it off in half the time that i was suppose to. my credit right now sucks though because i used my credit cards to pay for my last two semesters of tuition (so $9.5k of $12.5k credit taken). by the end of the summer i will have all my debt paid off, but i dont think i have that long to get a new car. i'd like to find a place that would use my car as a down payment, or at least part of it. but i'm not sure how to find a place that takes pieces of shit (kbb value trade in value ~ $1.5k) as down payments. any advice in getting a new car that isnt a piece of shit?
