I'm looking for an app or programme to record stock, purchasing price, sales price. Hopefully with added parts to record tax, shipping costs, promotional expenses etc.
I realise 99% of /biz/ only have $2 to their name and just shitpost about online currencies that have no real value but hopefully there's some other successful people out their browsing.
I sell around 30+ items a week and obviously import the same amount. I want to keep better track for tax purposes but also it would be good to see what my most profitable items are and what needs to be culled.
I've looked on the android app store but 90% seem to be garbage.
Ill check back on the thread later on. Thanks in advance.
>>1338291
I wrote a Windows application that does that. But Android is too much of an undocumented basketcase to do an app version.
>>1338361
What's your application
Any excel formula or anything? Anyone here actually running businesses or is biz really just all poor fags with $10 worth of bitcoins?
what's the future ?
im either majoring in software engineering or industrial and automatics engineering (robotics and smart machines)
what's better for the next 50 years?
>>1338281
You are overestimating the value of a degree. Your degree is only meant to be your ticket to an entry-level job, your experience in the field is what will hold you up for the next 50 years.
Go with machine learning.
Industrial.
Most the shit out there sill uses Ladder Logic simple, but you will need an electrical engineering degree.
Highly advanced robotics won't be a thing anytime soon, I don't think industrial robotics will use a physics library in their code.
>>1338281
Of course, I'm being contrarian here, as I see I'm outnumbered, but I think you should opt for the software biz.
I'm assuming, and this is just an assumption, that most robotic firms are looking for the best out there, since they're fucking mad men for even considering to change the world.
A "software" degree as you put it, would leave you open for various entry-level positions, and would also give you the ability for entrepreneurship in the future.
As >>1338335 stated, you're over-valuing the college experience. College is lots of things, but it's not a definitive teaching tool.

i've been offered a job working in the city working in actuary. graduate role, very entry level and they expect me to gain fellowship to the actuary institute within 4 years which is fine.
i wast just wondering what the lifestyle is like working in the city in this field? is it what you imagine it to be like? coke hookers and alcohol? or is that more with trading and other fields in the city?
thanks in advance.

I am tired of society judging me negatively due to not caring about school. I got so much shit for it. I scored as Cs because I put the bare
minimum of effort even though I was smarter than my teachers. I was made to feel like a loser. I suffered for years hearing all my idiot peers obsessed with grades, tests, classes. They were all total idiots. 'OMG AP CLASS' 'OMG college' little goody two shoes brats doing everything mommy demanded. Any time a bit of real knowledge about how the world worked was dropped on them, they would ignore it. That's why only fucking women care about academia these days. They are obedient and mediocre little sluts who have the hive minds favor and act like they earned it. No you are getting a free pass off OUR backs girlies. None of you can do what I do. But I am the one they think I'm a fucking loser. Well guess what I have done better than all of them. So remember this. Bill gates never cared about school and look what happened. Everyone who told me what I was or what I'd be was wrong and they are the ones with worthless degrees not me.
>>1338246
Chill out man, holy shit
Elliot? I thought you were dead.
I like how you think any of these 'ideas' you're ranting about are unique or intelligent. Every 14 year old thinks the same thing at some point, except if they're actually smart they quickly grow out of it. You ARE a loser and you're also a fucking moron who gets a kick out of using words like 'hive mind' and 'academia' to describe his oh so idiotic peers and all those god damn slutty bitches. You sound pathetic, and this isn't about school. It was never about school. You should either start becoming genuinely intelligent or just kill yourself lol.
>bill gates didnt care about skool meme
>went to Harvard
No one cares about the fact he dropped out, the fact is, he made it. Unlike you retard. I'll judge you all I want for being a C student. Unless you're poor af working 2 jobs to support 2 disabled parents while in school, I'll judge you for being the bumblefuck you are.

I need to buy a reliable commuter. I want to buy a used ~2011 car and I want to finance part of it.
Who would be able to give me the lowest financing?
>>1337789
You can always buy an older and cheaper japbox, get it checked out by a mechanic, and use cash. I've been commuting on an 1999 Mitsubishi Montero, I bought for $1,500, and it has been running great for five years. If you just look at the maintenance book that comes with the car and replace the things that needs to be replaced after every X miles, then you'll be able to get around 300,000 miles out of it before having to replace the engine, transmission, etc.
Not to mention, the engine for my model of Montero is cheap as fuck and the mechanic that I use I've known for a while and gives good rates.
Honda Accords and Camrys will last a lifetime.
>>1337805
You seem to have missed the question.
The question is "Who would be able to give me the lowest financing?"

Here, you might want to read that.

You want something cheap and reliable, get a Honda Civic. I would wait until after summer, thats when a bunch will put up 0% financing, but thats if its a new car. There might be some now you gotta look around.

Fuck I'm stupid
There will always be that anon who inherited mom and dad's wealth, but who actually here started off with nothing?
Lets start off
>be me
>come from single-mom household with 4 siblings
>family has no financial savvy
>finished up to highschool
>too poor for college
>did minimum wage jobs
>Saved for a few years
>live in absolute misery just to meet my savings quota
>invest in shit
>now have passive income, and work when i want to
feels gud
>>1337410
Nobody cares.
>>1337410
I did. Single mom made 30k for most of my life just started making 40k when I was in my junior year of high school. My dad owned his own business and was killing it, but blew the money and got crushed in 2008 had to file for bankruptcy.
I love my parents, and I'm ok with not being given tons of money and having my college paid for. It taught me some valuable lessons. I learn from their mistakes in addition to my own.
>>1337410
>Grew up in orphanage.
>Ward of state so free college.
>Now making ~55k.
>Have an offer in a higher cost of living state for $85k
>Planning to accept it
I never understand when people with any family say that they are self made.
>buy $40 Amazon Fire stick
>install free app
>never pay for cable or any service again
because all i ever hear about is colleagues saying its not working
and then the next day it is working
and then the next day it isnt working

because it's illegal
>>1337204
No it's not
>make $12,300 - $21,500 per month from various avenues as 21 year old
>explained what i did to one friend that was adamant about entering it herself and had been friends with for years
>that friend ended up blabbing it to everyone she knew
>random guys now always acting like they're my friend or act openly aggressive towards me even when i don't know who they are and we've never met before
>girls now suddenly more interested in me than ever before, always asking about what i do for a living, probably to find out if what they heard is true so they can siphon some out of me somehow
>everyone generally acts weird around me
inb4
>how do you do it
father taught me everything that i know about personal finance and investing, gave me money to invest since 13, gave me ~$180,000 on 18th birthday just to invest, gave me the miser genes etc

>lol rich kid/didn't make it urself
neat but illogical
Does anyone here deal with this? I'm sure that there are some people here that have had to deal with this before after your financial situation got out in one way or another.
oh and don't worry, i'm handsome but 5'10 and 125lbs. you can feel better about that if you're taller or more muscular than i am before you start posting whatever terrible thing you're going to post to spite me.
>jewish?

Whats' the point of this thread?
Fuck off.
>>1336904
>Does anyone here deal with this? I'm sure that there are some people here that have had to deal with this before after your financial situation got out in one way or another.
Your response is "oh"? Why respond?
I know a guy isn't suppose to ask this, but how much financial success does a guy with zero 'game' need to attract women who look this pretty ?
Not to sound negative, but we all know that women don't go for poor/broke men.
Lastly, I will take your advice seriously.
>>1336857
Pretty girls like that? Well if you're poor and ugly/gameless, you'll need to be able to connect with them on an emotional level, prey on their insecurities and baggage, and convince them that you're their soulmate. I've done that.
If you can't do that, you'll need probably at least $45,000 to $60,000 per year in a stable job to convince them that you are a real man, aka an able provider.
It's not a "I know a guy isn't suppose to ask" it's more of a "If you have to ask...."

prostitution is a cheaper solution
Hey /biz/ I'm 20 years old and I am absolutely horrible with money. I'll be moving out soon and I cannot deny my own retardation when it comes to spending money. I come from a upper middle class family and everyday I spend at least $50 on take out which I don't pay for myself and even when I could go and save some of the money by going to the supermarket and buying some meat that I can store and only spend $15 tops for roughly 2 days of food... I don't. I know many of you would now agree that I am very stupid when it comes to money and I literally don't save any of it. My question is now that I'm aware, I'm scared. Scared that I'll do the same thing with money that I earn in the future and I really don't want to be a poor person just because I was unable to get out of the spending mentality that I have right now. If anyone has any tips on how to prevent myself from continuing this when I'm really feeling lazy and I don't want to run to the market and yadda yadda blah blah, I'd appreciate it. But so far I've been only cooking home and I'm trying my best to save my money and put it in the bank. To add: No, fortunately I am not fat. But I am extremely picky about what I eat. I understand that there is nobody really putting a gun to my head telling me that I can't do it but perhaps there are some tips that'll help me catch myself while I'm in the process of essentially wasting money.
Coming from the Same situation; you will adapt. I worried the same things when I took the leap. After being broke and having nothing to show for with no bailouts it did not take long to kick my ass into gear and wise up. Admitting your fault is a good first step, and you can theorize all you'd like, but until it's a real life situation where you're earning your own money and seeing it's true value, your planning and worrying means nothing.
>>1336719
I'll keep that in mind, guess I'll just throw whatever I can into saving to prep. Thanks anon.
>>1336710
Well, as wise /biz/ men will tell you, do 3 blowjobs a day and you can maintain your luxurious lifestyle. Since you like eating, you shouldn't have a problem.
So /biz/ I'm in the process of starting a business that does IT consulting and I've already found my first customers. The problem is: I have no other co-founders and starting an IT business by myself rates somewhere between hard and impossible. I have thought about going to networking events but I live in the middle of no where and I can't move due to family which makes it hard for me to meet anyone.
My only options are to try find someone online but every website seems to be designed for normalfags to meet IRL and all I want to do is find another programmer like myself who wants to work remotely and be our own bosses. All the tools exist to do this like Slack, Git, Github, and Squiggle so I don't see collaboration being a huge problem.
You would think finding someone with some programming skills and spare time to join a promising business would be easy but this has turned out to be basically impossible. So far everyone I've found either doesn't have the time to commit to a business or is completely useless (like they can barely speak English or use a web browser kind of useless.)
What would you guys do if you were in my situation? I don't really want to burn out doing the work of 2 other people and nobody I know in real life has the time for this.
Bampu
I would be interested in being a co-founder, OP. I'm a programmer and CS student. What state are you from BTW?
Look no further OP, recent computer engineering grad here with lots of free time, I've used those collab tools and am looking for basically exactly the arrangement you're talking about. Shoot me an email: [email protected]
and grab this guy >>1336825 too.
Nothing possibly could go wrong with sourcing your professional talent from 4chan don't even worry about it
I just got refunded for an untracked item again, I wasn't lying, I just haven't received my item in a reasonable amount of time. Sometimes though, after I'm refunded, sadly I will receive the item a few days later, though other times I never get it.
I just realized though, aren't untracked items a 3 way assfuck situation? Since firstly, the postman can easily steal them, secondly, the buyer can easily lie and be refunded, and thirdly the seller can even pretend, or forget, to send you your item. How does ebay even operate when I'm refunded about half of my packages that's aren't tracked?
That's why tracking exists, because scumbags like you can easily get away with fraud.
Any seller that doesn't use tracking is an idiot.
>>1336724
What? I never commit fraud, I honestly lose about half my untracked packages, but I love ordering from ebay. I'm eligible for a refund after 35 business days on most untracked items, once that hits I ask for a refund, and sometimes I will receive it later, and other times I don't.
>>1336705
I don't understand how some people don't get tracking. Practically every shipping option provides it. Some people have small items but first class postage is cheap and covers tracking
