You guys consider Ultra Violent wrestling wrestling?
>>768983
I think the people that are fans of it are probably more twisted and fucked up in the head than the people that are in the ring doing all that crazy shit It's fucking bizarre and I don't like it at all. To each their own I guess.
Somebody post that copypasta on hardcore wrestling.
http://www.wwe.com/inside/polls/who-are-you-rooting-to-win-wwe-world-heavyweight-title-tournament Lets raid this and vote for Kalisto for the fuck of it
Kalisto is based but not your army faggot.
>>768920
Voted for Roman Reigns
>Kalisto
Hope he gets a singles push soon. He's very impressive and doesn't botch constantly like Cara. Reminds me of a young Rey being small and being able to successfully fuse Lucha and WWE style
Hey /asp/ies, after much time away I have returned! I doubt any of you remember me and I'm not going to start tripfagging again, but I figured it would be fun to see if there was any of the old crew hanging around. (Cambo, Seido, TKDBrah? You faggots out still alive?)
Anyway, on to the actual topic. A recent move to San Francisco forced me to give up my beloved IKO1 Kyokushin. At first, I was just going to start doing Muay Thai. Transferable skill set, already have shinguards and molded mouthguard, used to getting kicked in the legs. I was sure I'd be the Buakaw of SF in a week. Plus, no more sweaty white pajamas and standing in line punching air.
Then, I realized I might get punched and/or elbowed in my face. Being a Kyokushin-fag and therefore a coward a pristine, untouched face, my concern was obviously that any contact to my cranial region would instantly cause my baby like head skin to burst forth in torrents of blood, my teeth to fall out, and immediate unconsciousness. Unacceptable.
In the spirit of San Francisco I decided that having another man's groin in my face was the only viable alternative. So, I'm now IKO1BBJWhiteBeltFag. Gone are my light, white pajamas. In their stead: heavy, blue pajamas.
Now that you've read my tale of woe and my triumphant vindication, I wanted to know what advise you guys had regarding making the transition from striking to grappling. It's great to be learning new things, but I'm a total mess out on the mat. I'm gassing in a round because I don't know how to relax. I'm alternatively too compliant or too aggressive because I don't understand how to strike the proper balance between aliveness and competitiveness in this setting. Most of all, I spend a lot of time feel totally helpless.
welcome back iko1, i remember you

Many things have changed while you were gone friend. All the old tripfaggots are gone(Even Wu was chased of) and recently we have become /wwe/
>leaving LA for SF
Disgusting. I know LA isn't a terrific place, but San Francisco is even worse. I can't go north of San Jose without feeling sick.
ALEXA BLISS HAS BEEN CALLED OUT AS A RING RAT:
>“Nik, I am currently training with WWE to be a wrestler. We train at NXT in Orlando. A great group of men and women are down here but I have to call out one girl, Alexa Bliss. I wish to stay anonymous but this needs to be out. She is a ring rar as we call it. She sleeps with just about every person who walks in the door here and has slept with trainers, higher ups, wrestlers and whoever else she can get her hands on. I have heard nasty stories I refuse to share. She is cute and nice but is a total slore. She is not very good in the ring but isn’t bad as a manager. I hope she sees this and cleans her act up asap.”
Bliss responded to the claim on Twitter writing, “@WWEFanaticYES all false”.
Is it true bros?
I hope Blissfag gets a load of this.

Your waifu a sloot blisspic. My waifu's still pure.
Did Holm punch Rousey in the back of the head?
I agree 100% with the outcome of the fight, I'm just curious what /asp/'s take on this is.
>>768168
No she didn't, she did prove how much of a joke women's mma has been so far though
>>768177
no trolling, but why do people keep saying women's mma is a joke? (I don't watch ufc and I haven't seen any women's mma matches)
Who was the best wrestler of all the times?
>>768001
In terms of skill? Lou Thesz and there shouldn't even be any debate. Thesz once legit submitted Gotch in a match that turned shoot because Thesz needed to end the match early for reasons that I don't remember.
>>768173
Nigger pls
Stu hart could have twisted Frank Botch and Poo Lesz into a pretzel whenever he wanted

Why are you so easy to spot bretkek
now that we have conclusive proof can we please put this grappling>striking meme to bed?
>>767776
no because if ronda had known bjj instead of judo this wouldnt have happened :^)

>greatest grappler in the entire league loses to foot work and distancing
Does /asp/ think Ronda Rousey could beat Floyd Mayweather?
GGG
G
G
>>767721
She couldn't even beat a female boxer, so hell no.
>>767721
Lol I knew this thread would be here after hearing about the outcome of Rousey's fight last night.
Where are all the anons and name fags that were saying Rousey would absolutely walk right through a world class boxer even if they did a camp before the fight? And that she was facing the best of the best of female fighters?
Because even my moderate opinion of Rousey not being guaranteed to win got shit on, and now it's time to eat your crow.
Come on faggots, dont act like you havent thought up some names and gimmicks.
Post them and we will decide how hard you'd get pushed.

TRENT!
It looks like Lucha Underground is under new management...
When does season 2 start?
>>767122
January is what they're saying. Can't wait!
Based Pentagon Jr. for champion.
His first title run and push came from literally nowhere, and ever since he's been getting consistently pushed in the main event despite always getting lukewarm reactions from the crowds, both as a face and as a heel.
Why do you really think that is?
>>767058
Being buddies with aitch helps.
He's a bully that got his shit slapped by hunico and yoshitatsu.
He's boring and super protected for one reason.
Only match I liked was one with big show. That was a swerve and actually helped.
Anyone wanting to see him in a feud with bbygurl to make him look strong? Or will aitch make them both look strong?
>>767058
It all became clear to me last week.
My non wrestling fan friends at work showed me that clip on one of their phone's of sheamus and barret giving it to rooney and they were all saying 'holy fucking shit look at the size of that ginger cunt, he is an absolute brick shithouse who the fuck is he ' etc
Vince was right lads
Normies love mastodons and normies bring in the money. Sheamus is fucking huge
>>767058
To this day I'm convinced he wasn't meant to win that Tables match against Cena.
His initial title win was an accident.
>Charlotte
Overrated. But then again this is the 3rd instance where we've seen someone who is clearly overqualified for this division have a terrible reign because there is no competition.
>Kevin Owens
Placeholder champion. Owens isn't elevating the belt he's trying to elevate himself. 2016 is Owens year lads. Soon will be seeing Owens joining the Authority in main event matches against Roman Reigns, Dean Ambrose, and soon to be Face Seth Rollins
>The New Day
The only thing salvageable in this division which begs the question why don't they own all the midcard belts? Xavier would rock the Intercontinental Championship, Kofi could rock the United States Championship, and Big E can be the Tag-Team Champions.
>Scott Dawson and Dash Wilder
Lance Cade and Trevor Murdock 2.0. They have a personality now but they're just generic filler goons for hire. Would fail in an instant on the main roster.
>Bayley
She looks like a really weak champion considering the NXT Divas division isn't that packed anymore. I'd rather Asuka have the belt but its too soon.
>Finn Balor
Needs to defend the championship more (I know he does all the time on House Shows but those aren't televised) and get a better finisher. The Foot stomp is garbage
>No current active WWE Champion
I'll just use this opportunity to rate the current champion then. Seth was a horrible "no drawing" champion solely because hes an incredibly unbelievable heel and the Authority ruins everything it touches. Maybe its for the best he takes 9 months off while he gets his shit together.
>Alberto Del Rio
Don't lie to me. Transitional Champion for when Cena gets back. This Meximerrica garbage won't last long and Vince gets bored too easily.
>>766959
>>Finn Balor
>Needs to defend the championship more (I know he does all the time on House Shows but those aren't televised) and get a better finisher. The Foot stomp is garbage
He defended it on TV two weeks ago. He also hit a reverse bloody sunday.
And Seth was a great choice for champion since he can outwrestle probably anyone on the roster. WWE's booking is 100% to blame for their horrible ratings.
>>766983
That match was 3 stars. It wasn't hot but it was generating sparks. The swerve ending kind made the match feel flat.
Tho this is a PPV match in the making you don't wanna waste it on free TV
>>766983
>Seth was a great choice for champion since he can outwrestle probably anyone on the roster
Yeah and look where that got him.
How'd training go yesterday? Two days ago?
Did you hit any sweet tricks down that three stair?
Nail anyone in the head while paintballing?
Catch any sweet waves?
Tap anybody out?
Rek anyone in sparring?
Hit a bullseye at 40 yards?
Anyone who actually trains, this is our thread. I miss you.
I learnt a couple of defences and counters to a rear naked choke, which I think would be useful if I ever were to get into trouble of that kind (here's hoping I never do). Throwing someone over your shoulder is satisfying as fuck, but I need to improve my technique - I don't always get my hips below the opponent's, so I make it harder for myself and if they were really struggling they'd probably be able to escape.
It is krav maga and from what I've seen people like to take the piss, but it's a) free (I do it in uni society), b) enjoyable and c) good for you (every session involves cardio at the end, I'm skinny but unfit as fuck)
>let's put all the old /asp/ communities in one containment thread like a bunch of beta's
perfectly fine with this desu.
Spent this week in class doing a drill we call 4-corner.
It is where someone stands in the middle and people (usually 4) stand around that person.
They then one at a time at random doing random attacks that the person in the middle must defend against and counter, then finish.
I am sure that to some it sounds dumb or boring but it is a lot of fun and is a great way to review stuff, practice stuff, and gets you thinking about self defense a bit.
Tomorrow going to review pressure point stuff, which will literally be a pain, but it is useful to keep it fresh.
So as the wrestlefags of /asp/ and /wwe/ unite, I feel like we need this thread to discuss generally how things are done on both sides. Come together and tell each of the different threads we all do and basically get to know each other.
>>766730
As for /asp/, we have:
> /asprowrestling/ Generals
> Live Raw threads
> /asp/ Predicts
That's pretty much it. I am curious what the /wwe/ Raw Gamethreads are.
>>766739
Basically just RAW threads except they aren't dead and they last usually around 500 posts each gamethread that night (except for the last one)
>>766747
Oh, be nice!
So let me get this straight....
In Japan Judo, Ju-Jitsu, and Karate are viewed as respectable sports and they respect the atheletes.....but they consider MMA as bunch of circus freaks???
I don't get it. Why?
>>766683
MMA is closer to pro-wrestling in its market demo and advertising.
Shares a history with pro-wrestling in japan
And many of the popular fighters are kind of freaks, for a lack of a better word.
The other 3 you mentioned are part of traditional and respected martial culture.
Muh honor
Mastah the one art better den average in many technique
