When did you find out that you were an /aspie/?
When I could easily talk about sports and wrestling fluently.
>tfw after football practice with the bros we would go home and watch raw
High school is Halfway to 10 years ago, lads
Never have been.
Final consensus on Steven Seagal?
Give me your most brutal opinion of him
Is he really competent? how relevant was he in the martial arting scene?
him and Van Damme who wins?
>>863433
Even in the few situations aikido would work, like someone who's drunk off his ass fucking with you, he'd probably still fuck it up. Van Damme. Is he still fat?
Will never be as important as John Cena
Aikido is bullshit
Seagal is even more bullshit. The lies he would tell about himself. Claiming to be Native American, claiming to be Japanese, claiming to have been in the military.
See has signed njpw talent get ready for styles vs cena boys
There are so many people I'd rather see Styles or Nakamura wrestle than Meme Cena
>>862907
Cena is officially old news, my man. Vince is spending the cash to establish Roman as the strongest wrestler in the industry.
>>862914
I wouldn't mind seeing Reigns get the shit beat outta him by SWAGsuke
Before I start, I re-watched the Kill Bill old chink board break scene. The concept there is he, you know, actually punches through a fucking board. I have never seen that happen irl or in a video.
So, I have two questions here:
1. Is there any videos of anyone actually breaking some real shit? As in, not premade to break (muh tkd boards) and not carefully position on its very edges (muh karate bricks).
2. Are there any good books on breaking? I have broken concrete at tkd before, but I really have no clue wtf I am doing. It just seems it's all the way its positioned and concrete crumbles.
>>862716
1. Are* before people get their panties in a bunch.
When I did breaks there were no divider things like in your picture and it was just people holding them. It's not hard.
First you have to understand why something breaks as it does; when you strike any object, the reason it breaks is because the the energy transferred into the object does not have enough time to return to the medium it is transferred from. If an object's mass or its surface is not dense enough to halt the movement of another incoming object, it breaks. Additionally, physics shows that penetration of the surface of an object is greatly increased in relation to the surface area of the medium transporting the force, or kinetic energy. In other words, the smaller the point of contact, the more focused this kinetic energy is, enabling the object to be broken.
In other words, breaking boards and bricks and the like is little to do with strength and more to do with speed and form. The spacing you see in the picture makes it easier to break each board individually. Otherwise, with such a mass to penetrate, the practitioner would break their hand. It's more of a demonstration of application than anything - it's like a martial arts magic trick.
Now if you want to see something impressive, see Muay Thai kick drills and how people break bats. Because of awkward size and shape, as well as density, it's much more difficult to break a bat. Additionally, because the bat is broken without the assistance of gravity being applied to the object, it's all the more difficult.
See how the bat splinters? It's showing that the kick wasn't clean, as like breaking a board; there was a lot of resistance, and the execution was additionally reliant on the strength of the practitioner.
TL;DR - Bricks and boards, while take a level of practice and legitimate skill, are more of a magic trick in the grand scheme of "breaking things". It's an application of physics and nothing more. To break other items, it will take teaching on how to apply the correct strike in the correct manner and a level of self-durability and strength.
Is archery a legit sport?
I've been looking into it for a while and I'd love to join a club and give it a try, but then I hear people talk about how it's a thing for rednecks and neckbeards who've overdosed on fantasy-shit. Looked up some videos, and that honestly didnt help wash away my insecurity. I'm somewhat neckbeard-y myself, and I really don't want to make a fool of myself and strengthen the stereotype. Is archery really as "dorky" as those people make it seem?
No way, man. Like you said, archery is only for rednecks. All those people competing for medals in the Olympics? Rednecks. All of them. Even the ones from Korea.
1. Could I go to my local archery school and ask to be taught the Lars Andersen technique? would they say yes, or would they be like
> Lars shit, he not real archery
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BEG-ly9tQGk
I'm sure this girl has good technique but it's just so slow
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zVjdzax519A
2. Could I get a light wooden bow like Lars? I looked at the archery school's website but all they had were these giant heavy metal bows.
>>859231
They're probably not going to teach you trick shooting. Going to a conventional archery club and asking to learn Lars stuff is like going to a shooting range and asking to learn the stunts from Equilibrium.
Alright so, im 21 with a GED. Is there any sport I can play that could get me into a college? Could I get into a sport after enrolling at a college? Do they strictly recruit highschoolers now? Very very strong BJJ and boxing background, also can prove wide reciever skills 6ft 165 lbs
>>857421
>Is there any sport I can play that could get me into a college?
wat
You burgers are getting more and more incomprehensible by the day.
>>857421
go to your community college take your classes and transfer to a larger college with junior standing.
>>857966
this is literally the best, cheapest way to do things, unless your getting a full ride to a 4 year university, you're just wasting money taking core classes at the university level that is basically the same thing you would get a community college.
Thoughts on Asuka? I'm not a weeb and I don't follow anything Japanese so I don't know shit, but she seems better than all other women on the NXT roster, although she could stand to get into better shape and drop the fat.
>>856408
Fuck off with the fat thing, but she is great. Search Kana on YouTube
>>856416
She isn't fat, but she is flabby. Especially her stomach. Her outfit doesn't do her any favors.
>>856408
Bad ass in the ring and really cute on Breaking Ground.
Looking forward to an eventual Asuka v Banks feud on the main roster some day.
Trying to find a good martial art for me. I went to a local muay thai gym and they told me literally that instead of trying to counter a kick, or use footwork, i should just try to kick harder than the other guy.
What is the best striking martial art for a smart person?
Boxing. Its called the sweet science for a reason. All these ching chong arts are either bullshit mysticism or just "be stronger".

Old general had an untimely demise thanks to the influx of WWE shitheads making new threads...
All grapplers of their respective disciplines post here. Share stories, advice/tips, training routines etc. It all goes here.
Nice to see that one of my favorite boards is falling apart before my very eyes.
At any rate, i haven't been to the gym in a while. Too occupied by school shit but I make time to go to wrestling practice every now and then.
>>766914
Looks like an alright place. Just ask if they do month-to-month payments. Don't sign up for a membership with them if they make you do a contract for x amount of years unless you think you can keep paying it. That way if something happens, you aren't legally bound to do shit.
>>766914
If you want strong cardio, you need to adjust your routine. Distance running/swimming only trains distance runs/swims and doesn't engage your circulatory/respiratory systems the way grappling will.
If you're not worried about that at all, routine looks solid.
As far as gym, you aren't going to find any decent training facilities anywhere. If they've got a schedule that fits yours and they aren't screwing you over on payment plans (lease style first/last payments, contracts that force you to pay for x amount of time, etc.) that's honestly the best you can hope for.
I recently started lifting regularly BUT I only do it once a week.
As a newbie to lifting will I still see gains in my grappling from it or do I HAVE to lift more often to see any real results?
I hope Roman turns heel and looks strong AF.
First for JERIGOAT
Vince looking good.
Hes going to live another 20 years
Samoa Edition
>Chris Jericho is currently backstage tonight's Raw in San Antonio.
not this shit again

>subliminal Reigns general
Let's not start that shit again
REMOVE SAMOA
Reminder that in 1994, this man who was 45 years old at the time, beat Bret Hart for the WWF title in a fucking submission match
3 days later, Kevin Nash beat him for the WWF title in 8 fucking seconds
Yeah the shit is scripted you fucking mong who the fuck cares
And on a house show, no less. Taking the belt from a seasoned professional, a guy who could both wrestle and perform, to give it to Kevin "Ow, my quad!" Nash, who becomes the lowest-drawing champ in company history, sure seems like a good idea in retrospect, doesn't it?
>>857784
Why are you on the /wwe/ board?
Is there even any point in trying to start a martial art if you're not a child?
It's not like you'd ever be any good at that point
>>854748
you can get good, will you be a champ? probably not but you can get good.
>>854748
This is objectively false and it can be applied to anything in life.
It's never too late to start anything, it's just a petty excuse people like to make for not wanting to do something.
Op is retarded
>just give up on life when you're older
is it too early?
I don't care
>WWE WORLD HEAVY WEIGHT CHAMPION

Let's all hope for the best
Why the fuck would I even want to watch this mainstream shit after watching WK10?
I fucking know already that it's going to be fucking shitty show, prepare for ROMANWINSLOL and CENAWINSLOL

Fellow Nogi/BJJ players
I'm about to go into my first nogi tournament after 5 months of practice, I was recommended, however, i'm turning 16 the day before of the tournament, which means i'll be going against a higher tier than those that I've ocassionally practiced with (about 50/50 practiced with people my weight or bigger)
i need tips /asp/, what do?

Listen to your coach and do what you were drilled.
