I started noticing this humming noise late at night, generally once the traffic quiets down, but tonight it's really loud and piercing.
Apparently this city has experienced this for quite some time with full blown investigations not being able to root out the source.
There's Detroit across the river, along with the industrial park and salt mines underneath the city, but it hasn't exactly been pinpointed to any of those locations.
What the fuck is this sound? It's making it difficult to sleep and it's really disconcerting/discomforting.
Is it a natural earth frequency/resonance or something more sinister?

So /x/, I think I bring ghosts into my house when i drink.
I've been pretty spiritual the last two years able to astral project and channel a good bit of energy but some nights i say fuck it and unwind. Unfortunately there's been too many times that this leads to weird things happening in my house.
An example is yesterday when I passed out around 2~ drinking and suddenly awoke around 4. My sister sent me a page of texts that around 3 she heard an ungodly cackle in her room which my dad also heard. Also the basement door slammed open (locked and screen door) by itself twice while i was asleep (and that door is right to me) And i slept through it all fine.
My house has had paranormal encounters before but they cease when I live at the home, and I'm wondering if by leaving myself susceptible, it unleashes these forces.
That or it's possessing me and using my energy. Is it possible?

Thanks a lot, i was already pretty much on the path to quitting but i think this is the nail on the head for me.
I plan on cleaning(messy from moving) and sageing the entire basement area. I also use oil diffusers a lot (been a while) so I'll probably get those going too. I was just curious if the phenomena seemed to correlate.

I don't know where else to post this, I need tips on horror. More specifically, how do I make the viewer/reader feel hopeless and powerless? Like watching someone you care for drive into a wall and no matter how much you scream they won't see the wall. Like knowing you could be next and knowing you'd be just as powerless. Any tips are welcome. (My favorite piece of horror so far is "This House has People in It" if that helps)

Does /x/ do dream interpretations? I just had two really weird ones.
In both we're in the living room of my parent's house (college student that lives with his parents in the summer, doing summer school though so not there right now). In the first one me and my driver that takes me to and from the airport were sitting at opposite sides of the couch, my driver was drinking hot coco and telling me how to get girls, but then I went on a long rant about how everything I told him about myself was a lie, and that I'm actually completely average in anyway. Then he asked "Why are you telling me this?" And then it ended.
In the 2nd one I had moved to sitting right next to the person I was talking to on the couch and I was talking to a person that sort of looked like what a pair of twins from my Elementary school in would look like today, I had moved to a different state in middleschool so I don't even remember one of their names, except the girl in this dream said her name was Fred but then later in the dream she said her name was something else but I already forget what she said it was. We were both drinking hot coco in this, also she was wearing a really long football jersey I think. Anyway she was talking about something I forget then I went on the same speech about how I'm just a completely average person, then she said she needed to show me something, turned around, and then the dream ended.
What does it all mean?
