Same my dude. I think of hindu gods in my head as some kind of evil conspiracy that scares me into behaving the way they ordain. All of their overwhelming power, their intense but seemingly senseless complexity, their billions of hands (hands are a fucking meme anyway), they seem very might is right. Just one anon's opinion, but it could be due to a difference in the way different gods display their powers. Western Abrahamism is full of stories of their god being a bad-ass, but he's always abstract. Then in the sequel he's incarnate but really chill. He's never bad-ass AND incarnate.
In the Hindu lore the gods don't seem to give a shit and just incarnate and start throwing lightning bolts or whatever. People of the Hindu faith don't seem to be afraid of this, it's just expected. Like yea duh, it's a god, of course it's going to do some godly shit.
tl;dr the frankness of other pantheons is unusual and off-putting to westerners who are used to a more toned-down subtle deity.

You have to do it correctly though.

Done correctly however, it affords you more efficacious mediation between your physical and conscious awareness. Perhaps even to the degree that certain cell clusters that mediate perception, such as the visual cortex, work together and edit your perceptions to generate real time Augmented Reality, all biologically without needing to wear VR specs or anything.

That's literally what the imagination always was, to begin with.

It's very different. A lot of it comes from the fact that each person has a unique experience that depends on how much the person is ready to understand or needs to know. It's similar in the sense that you will trip, but I have never experienced a LSD trip where I completely lost control of my thoughts, and the beauty is in this "lost of control".
