OP it is no doubt a great game but very obtuse for today's generation who don't know how to crack open a manual (do they even have those anymore?) and learn.

What you say isn't wrong but this type of game could not survive in today's market.

I discovered that I didn't nuke my save when I changed Wii U HDDs so, yes.

I also started MP2:E because I want to compare them directly. Everyone insists that MP2:E is better than 1 but I still say 1 is better but never had a chance to play them right up against each other.

Yes, you really, really should play the originals. Especially 1st one; 2nd has barely anything to do with 3rd.

Then play Witcher 1. It's a direct sequel to the books, and the only one to even try to introduce to the series' world and lore. Just DO NOT expect it to play like some DaS- kind action RPG; it is a pure CRPG, which plays more akin to Gothic and Neverwinter Nights. There's a lot more to do than just killing shit, and plenty of freedom and variation to things. It's less "cinematic", and more game-y immersive sim.

I find shoryuken inputs easier when my character is facing to the left so i generally prefer being player 2.
