"Ah, ha ha, *munch, munch* ol' J.R.R., didn't, ah, see you come in! -burp- No please, please, [smack] sit down, sit down, there' something we, (pant) need to talk about. *farts* Heavens excuse me, oh ho! >Being a hero is hard. This was maybe my answer to Marvel, whom, as much as I admire them, I do quibble with. Marvel had a very childish philosophy: that if the hero was a good man, the villain would be defeated. The hero is good and the villain is evil. We look at real history and it’s not that simple. Marvel can say that the Avengers beat Thanos and everything was fine afterwards, and they were heroic and just. But Marvel doesn’t ask the question: How does the world react to the presence of living gods among men? Do they intervene in foreign wars? What do they do in times of genocide where world powers refuse to intervene? Do they enter and impliment their own justice? Who's justice to they implement? Do they work with America's allies? Even when those allies are guilty of genocide and use of poison gas to murder children in their cradles?

Any pic of RR Martin makes me smell cheese.
I'm watching this.
ok.
No your not, your posting on /tv/.
Watching this movie won't change that fact that your existence is meaningless and that you're just going to die anyway
Judd Apatow also described how many of the best comedy writers are actually focusing on television, resulting in a lack of exciting new movie scripts. He said,
>I feel like the studios don't buy as many scripts now. It used to be you'd open up Variety, and you'd see a movie studio had just bought a big high-concept comedy. Now it seems like they'd rather things come in packaged: a script, a cast, a director. As a result, a lot of great comedy writers are going to television instead of sitting at home and trying to write a script for a film, write the way I was.
Judd Apatow recently vented about his frustrations, saying:
>When you do a big, broad comedy and it fails, it's an easy target for criticism. I also don't think critics have a great respect for the effort it takes to make people piss their pants laughing. They think it's more honorable to show someone in torment, but being able to do that doesn't make you more of an artist than being able to make The Naked Gun. It's not hard to make people cry. Kill a dog.

His movies suck. The Naked Gun is way better than what he could ever hope to write.

>I also don't think critics have a great respect for the effort it takes to make people piss their pants laughing
The problem with mainstream comedy these days is that hacks like Apatow don't put any effort into making the audience laugh in the first place, they just get their cast to ad lib on set and hope something lands. They get no respect because the lack of effort is clear for all to see.
Judd Apatow literally ruined comedy films with his over-reliance on ad-libbing and giving jobs to unfunny hacks like Seth Rogan and James Franco.

Thank you, white culture
I'm going to have to ask you to refrain from making regular xavier threads because if more people watch this I won't feel special because I like it.
>"Fielder said the last episode of the season is something huge that grew bigger than he expected."
What is he referring to?

His alimony check.

>"My goal: to make America's most successful businessman into the president of the USA."
>The plan: Show how good you would be as president by making friends with Russia
Why didn't he just run? That charge was utterly pointless.
scenes that OP will never understand

I have no idea why he did this. Nobody needs anyone else to figure out why Ghostbusters was bad. Especially not a year later.
>>86220535
Because too many nerds just spouted the same "not muh ghostbusters" shit while not bothering to address the actual problems of the movie. Everyone praised James Rolfe for refusing to review it, but his only reason was "not muh ghostbusters".
>>86220535
He let his autistic tendencies to take over and wanted to analyze one of the biggest plunders in the past few years even if no one else cared.

An actually good looking movie about the hood. It's refreshing seeing movies in settings similar to where I live.
Is that a guy?
Jay has amazing restraint. I would have got up and smashed a beer bottle over his head.
ok
Rich would have destroyed him. They all live in fear of him. Even Mike sometimes shoots glances at the camera that scream "help"

I guess this is in reference to the latest TBTW. I haven't seen it; I haven't heard of it, but I assume OP is referring to it.
Even if I'm right, it's still a tad bit confusing.
why aren't you watching the best show on tv right now?
>>86218324
I've tried. I have given preacher a dozend chances. It is just so tremendously bad i want to kms.
Genuinely surprised I don't see more threads about Preacher on /tv/. The only thing I can deduce from this is that people on /tv/ only like to post about things they hate.
>>86218324
It's fucking shit.
I want a television series where all the dialogue is sharp and everyone speaks in an artificially elevated manner. No period series. Not Deadwood. No fantasy series. Not Hannibal. Please

Not sharp enough, seems overly verbose, I don't care for the subject matter, and I'm not interested in liberal propaganda. I appreciate the effort, though.
