The problem of Emilia Clarke is as follows: Emilia Clarke is stunningly beautiful. She also happens to play a badass character example of female empowerment. it's a combination of those two factors that have resulted in audiences excusing the fact that... well, she's a horrible actress. her portrait lacks fire, passion and gusto - it's stilted and boring

Make Dany a male who’s middle-aged and ugly. Have that guy do everything Dany’s done — walling up people alive, burning people alive, crucifying them, feeding them to his dragons, the works. In your heart of hearts, do you sincerely believe that guy would get the benefit of the doubt and the mass fan adoration that Dany receives?

It’s easy to shoot down criticism of Dany as sexist and misogynistic. It’s not as easy to admit that perhaps Dany benefits more, in terms of reception, from being a pretty young woman than she suffers from it.
Criticisms of Dany based on her actions, her belief systems, her philosophy, etc. is not properly misogynistic. Dany’s hypocrisy would still be hypocrisy if she were a male and she would still be capable of a huge amount of fatalities and destruction if she were a male.

Criteria include art direction(costume design and set design, etc..) , Cinematography(I think this would cover lighting, camera movements?), Good Visual effects(practical and CGI) and editing.

I didn't include greats like Kurosawa , Kubrick , Hitchcock and various others for obvious reasons.

I'm curious, because all I ever see is capeshit and modern movies. On /mu/ they still talk about the olden goldies, on /a/ they still use smug faces from 90s anime, on /v/ they still argue over DOS games, on /co/ they still talk about retro comics, but /tv/?

/tv/ doesn't seem to ever talk about movies and tv shows from even two decades ago, let alone classic cinema.

Have any of you ever seen a black and white film? A period drama? A 50s b film? A noir? A historical epic? A silent german expressionist horror?

I'm serious - other fandoms still hold on to the past, but all /tv/ talks about is what is new. Well what is new is 98% vapid, bland, horribly over-produced and directed by boardroom meetings on how to reach the lowest common denominator for mass marketing. Why would you subject yourself to watching meaningless trash that is rotten from the moment it gets vomited onto the screen when you could watch vintage trash that ages into timeless classics instead?
