What is the most magical chirstmasland situation you could think of with archenemy nicol bolas?
Best I can come up with is my laughter echos into behold my grandeur for a turn 2 nicol bolas.

I didn't even need magical Christmas land to win as bolas. He has just enough stealing effects to get things done.

There are lots of threads with advices for GMs and tips for crafting good expirience for the players, but I rarely see /tg/ talking about this subject.
How do you salvage a session that didn't really work out with your players? You know, when the seem to be unengaged, bored and not really into it.
Should you just call it quits and save everyones evening, or are there ways to turn it around?
TL;DR: session is going to shit, how do you save it?

I suggest you try two more sessions. Sometimes its just a cluster of bad influences that comes to the front. If problem endures, it may be a specific player that is killing the vibe.
>>
>>54100673

1) Call for a break.
2) Move as many people as you can from the table. Smoke break, snack run, suggest bathroom runs, go out on the porch and pretend to see a deer. Whatever gets people on their feet.
3) While away from the table, talk about the game so far. Ideally bitch about something you did not going as well as you wanted.
4) God willing, people take the bait and talk about the game. Listen and use it to guide the rest of the session.
5) Alternate God willing, people honestly claim nothing is wrong but the break gets people back into the game.
>>
>>54100673
Check your themes.

Are you aiming for dark and gritty, and everyone else thinks it's a light heroic fantasy?

Are you black trenchcoat, but your players are pink mohawk?

TLDR -> Make sure that you and the party have a similar vision for what the game should be. Then what you build should be the playground that they want, and they can take your pieces and run with it.

If the session is unsalvagable, then you probably have some cogitative dissonance going on here.

Quick fa/tg/uys and ca/tg/irls, your last character has a PR manager and wants a catchy title to go with your last played character like 'The Eternal Knight'-(Character_name)! And gets money and fame for it

What title will your character give themselves?

Pic related for example titles. (Heavy armor Wiseduck gets me all the time)

What's a good way to run a game with a bigger group like 7 players? And how do you keep things moving in combat besides telling the players to know their stuff and spells and knowing their move ahead of time?

I know it might be preferable to run smaller games but a big group of friends wants to meet up and I don't see why I can't just prepare accordingly

Look up Gygax's old system for this where there's someone taking down all players' moves and relaying them directly to the DM for combat.

Create "social initiative" for dialogue and out of character chatter.
>>
sometimes you need to make sacrifices
run fixed initiative, and have all the lesser bad guys act as a single unit to speed things up

*but NOT out of character chatter shit sorry

Hey me and my Warband of nightmarefuckill monsters plan on invading pic related to get resources our dying world

how much men/resources do we need to conquer it? or at least make a foothold so we can have a base of operations?

You'll need fuckloads of resources since the realm is guarded by adamantine dragons and several gods.

Most likely if your DM plays bytopia right, you're boned. But most likely he won't.
>>
>>54099052
Bytopia seems to me to be a Minecraft map.

By the time you get there, the established residents are simply on an other level from you. The resources they have to throw at you is nearly unlimited, and they will have prepared for you.

It's also like the Legend of Zelda lands. It's a destiny wrapped land. The chosen peoples are protected, their destinies are laid out in here. As an interloper, you are up against those cosmic forces, because you are stomping in their playground.
>>
>>54099052
Since it's an infinite plane, you'd need infinite resources to conquer it.

Hey /tg/ my friends are doing a M&M campaign and they're all huge fans of Jojo. So my character will be based off of Wamuu (Wham) in terms of powers and abilities. Thing is, I'm not really sure what would fit him, power level is 5, can you guys give me some tips?

Wind powers and Super "Everything stat to do with the physical condition"

Probably the ability to meld into biological matter too
>>

Oh yeah that's a given, meld is a good add on. any idea how I should balance him out or what to put the most points in?
>>
>>54098665
Um, someone must have not read the book very well, a game of MnM at power level 5 is ridiculously low, especially for someone like Wamuu. The average starting PL is 10, PL 8 is about the lowest you can go before things start to get really constrained for anything not super realistic/mundane

New World edition

Post literally anything pertaining to the culture and myths of the North American continent, from obscure folk festivals of the Lacandon Jungle, to Americana folk heroes, to the lost magical practices of the Natives! Hopefully, from this, we can help suss out potential settings and inspiration for campaigns.

I'm only really good with US folklore, feel free to ask stuff!

Captions couldn't always get sailors by honest means, as such, Crimping was not too uncommon in the Americas. That being said, a hired crimp would do some pretty silly shit to get extra pay from a captain.

Since the crimp the crimp was paid per man, they would sneak in a corpse two among those they drugged and then dragged aboard. Though, as you might guess, dead bodies can be hard to come by. So crimps would pass of scare crows as drugged up sailors to be.

So I'm making a character in M&M 3E, who is very strongly inspired by the Monkey Staff Shen Gong Wu.

Basically, he's an aging college zoology professor with a bum leg, however, while holding his cane and making a specific screech that people can't seem to replicate (literally the Ooh-Wah-Ah-Ah-Ah from Down With the Sickness) he is transformed into Professor Primate. As professor Primate, he's stronger, more agile, he has a tail, he can use his feet as hands, etc. etc.

Most importantly, however, is that he can telepathically understand and communicate with any non-hominid primate.

While Professor Primate can handle most low-level mooks with ease (He fights like Spider Man), he lacks any real heavy hitting capability. Luckily, as a PL12, I can afford to give him the ability to to summon. Well, almost.

I've created an array with
-Gorilla Warfare
-Monkey Business
-Primal Communication

Primal Communication is the ability to speak to primates. No problem there. Monkey Business summons 16 low level monkeys (mainly for distraction purposes). Gorilla Warfare is presenting an issue. It's meant to summon 4 PL8 Apes, which I've already designed, but as it is now, the ability is too expensive. All I need to do to be able to afford it is to create some sort of limitation, but I can't think of one that wouldn't cripple it. I wanted to limit it to in or near wilderness, but the campaign we're running is in the city. What might be another good one?

Does the city have a zoo?

Also I love you make sure to make lots of monkey puns
>>
One option that the book suggests would be to make it so that the Apes, rather than appearing at my location when I use the summon ability, would need to travel to me from their point of origin using their own movement capablities. In their case, the ability to run at 30 mph (these Apes are a bit super), climb buildings, swing, leap rooftops, etc. This point of origin could be the city Zoo or the university, but I feel like that might be hard to justify from a flavor perspective without people asking questions and causing a panic when the apes are regularly escaping their enclosures, especially one where my character works.

Another option would have to be to have it so that the apes always start out indifferent to me, rather than helpful. I'd need to run a Diplomacy/Handle Animal check to be able to order them around. This I wouldn't mind. I can communicate with them mentally, and it's not like anyone else could. Seeing as I'd only bring them out in combat, it stands to reason that any mook that sees 4 angry gorillas show up while Professor Primate is around would put two and two together and start shooting them, drawing aggro without me needing to say anything. From a flavor perspective too, it makes sense that Gorillas and monkeys would be a bit fickle and unpredictable, even IF I can communicate in their language.
>>
>>54098321
One way I did a "summon" power for a newer player is to just have an AoE Effect like Damage or Affliction take the place of the Summon and have the monkeys as simply the flavor. The drawbacks to this could be simply Source: Monkeys and perhaps have a Check Required: Persuasion or simply Activation flaws for your character to communicate with them if you so choose.

If you really still want to do Summon, there's also simply having the Summon as one unit with the Insubstantial: Swarm/Gaseous and Growth or AoE effects on the single swarm unit's abilities to simulate the size of the group.

Anyone seen any good printed RPG supplements for a character descending into blue and orange morality? I've flipped through the WoD ones, since that's supposed to be some of the lines' bag, but nothing that seems to represent it particularly well.

Any suggestions?

Why do people enjoy being murderhobos? Doesn't it make a roleplaying game just an imaginative video game?

Your GM is probably just not used to having players who actually roleplay. He's probably been stuck with players who tend to murderhobo about in his games, and is surprised to actually meet somebody who roleplays.

Treat your GM well, and let him know how much you appreciate him.

>Doesn't it make a roleplaying game just an imaginative video game?
A lot of people just want video games+, where they can climb the chest-high roadblocks, take the weapons off the wall, and make molotov cocktails. There's nothing wrong with that, it's just a different playstyle.

To be honest, the setting is kind of flip-floppy on whether or not the characters go murderhobo or not, but we would of missed out on a hours worth of car racing. I just wish that musician had survived. Apparently he had a very tragic backstory.

I'm working on a sandbox setting in a mostly unpopulated frontier region. Lots of rugged hills, dense forests, and even deserts to the south.

What are some good villainous factions for this kind of setting?

If it's that underpopulated there wouldn't be any factions beyond "the Sykes family has a land dispute with the Wilburs".
