/tg/ I have a bit of /g/-ish question for you.
Do you ever record and edit lines for your campaigns? I plan on having a speech in an old dead made up gibberish language soon that I plan on playing through speakers. However, I need to to be booming and echoing. Throw it through the audio engineering blender.
Do you know of any good mixing software that can help me with this? I know Audacity is free but how good can it edit stuff?
Voice acting general, I guess.

You can easily skip Dragonspear and Black Pits, and Tales of the Sword Coast isn't that great or necessary either. Other than that, looks fine enough.

Random Magic Effects Thread.
I'll start first:
"Any sentient being touched by the magical effect suddenly experiences D10 hours of luck. Situations fortuitously happen in their favour (eg: "I wish we had a map through this forest" - they stumble across a corpse with a map kept in a scroll case). All rolls are at advantage. At the end of the D10 period, they experience 2x the original D10 period of bad luck, have disadvantage to all rolls, and everyone in the same room or 50ft area experiences varying degrees of bad luck.

There are some Japanese boardgames simulating LoGH battles that I've seen on Boardgamegeek.
I've thought about adapting a napoleonic rules set to run LoGH battles using the various 1/12000 scale ships I've accumulated over the years.

Problem is, you buy all those boxes for a shitload of money and you won't even have nearly enough standard battleships of either side to play a medium sized battle.
Of course, if you did, you could have each ship represent a fleet but then you might as well just use paper tokens anyway.

So, i want to get into 30k (because fuck if those MKIII Marines aren't awesome). Any advice? I'm looking for a gun line, preferably with more infantry units than tanks. I would go with say, Salamanders or Iron Warriors, but i prefer a paint scheme more akin to the Dark Angels.

Go with Iron Hands. They have black armour like the DA, favour shooting over melee, and their upgrade kits are all mk.III

Wasn't a bad system for it's time. There was even a mechanic where you could generate random results off your analog wristwatch if you wanted to play while hiking or something. Had its problems like all systems. That's about it.
