What system would you suggest to run a Planet of the Apes game? I'm mostly referring to playing as intelligently enhanced apes during the collapse of human civilization.

Hey /tg/ so I play a lot of pathfinder as a wizard, as I enjoy crafting and the bonuses to spell craft naturally lean me into that roll. Most of the time universal and sometimes one of the elemental for some extra flavor.

But that's just a means to an end, crafting Constructs and Golems is what really is fucking awesome to me because you can more or less convert any creature (in theory) into a construct. There is a special formula you can do it and I came up with an insanely odd way to use this.

Context: Large 'living world' pirate game. Starting level one with a few higher levels around and doing some encounters I come with my Wizard's great plan. Partially inspired by Captain Nemo from 10K Leagues under the Sea.

What if I made a Construct Whale I could ride inside of to destroy ships and take the cargo? Or Capsize them and use the construct or others to drag it/push it back to a port?

I am I just retarded or is this a suitable plan. I can theoretically do it by Level 5 if I have 25 K Gold.

I'm trying to combine various archetypes into one package to create various npcs with to fill out a party.

For example, Cleric, Bard, Marshall would be a kind of Aura buffing healing class.

or Rogue/scout, Bomb Maker, Archer, would be a kind of Saboteur infiltrator assassin

Can you take three Fantasy D&D style archetypes and create an npc out of it?

I haven't played EotW in the Post-Apoc mode though.

So Zenith is an aspect of the Eternal Champion, but so is also his nemesis Sir Seaton Begg, meaning that the Eternal Champion in at least one universe attempts to protect the Balance by fighting himself.

Looks to me that after his younger years he always had this complex of not making "true literature" so he start going into advanced avant-garde things to justify himself.

He even had this sort of disdain for genre fiction in one of the latest editions of his books.

I still like him a lot though. But he's a reminder of not letting the artistic set of mind get the best of you.

I want to run a campaign in a space opera universe with a touch of cheesy 80's cartoon tropes. If anyone watched Space Dandy on Adult Swim, basically that universe (though I'd probably goof off just a tad less.)
Does anyone know of a good system I could use for being a band of mismatched mercenaries/couriers/explorers trying to make a living in a universe like this?

What's a helpful way to paint scene for my players better? I am too heavily reliant on using a map and am not even sure how to run combat without it.

Can you guys offer some tips and examples for describing rooms and situations?

Use 3 different senses.

What they hear
What they smell
What they see

describe a new area with at least three senses and you should be good.

In combat usually its best to have a map for more tactical goodness and so players can easily grasp the situation, but outside combat you should be able to rely on your vocal descriptions.

read some fantasy books or play some fighting fantasy books and pay attention to the descriptions

The DM describes an encounter with a beholder as well as the effects of one of the players being charmed in an engaging and interesting way. This combined with the last 15 minuets of the previous episode (where they first find the thing) is a great example of describing combat without a map.

I'm trying to think of a new campaign for my friends and I've been toying with the idea of something similar to Majora's Mask: players are in some land that will be destroyed in X amount of time. Players will be working to stop this event but they'll have to go back in time and reset everything before this destruction event happens and try again.

Any thoughts on if this could be implemented well?

Choir boy gave it to sewer rat in exchange for drugs, and sewer rat traded it to a duergar for some BETTER drugs (after killing him, of course). And then it turns out the Duergar has the key to one of the other items they need and the party has to save him first...and so on.

TLDR: Make everything tie together, and make sure it's all planned out in advance. And make some of the questgivers' suspicions be wrong, dammit. Make the PCs think.

Can Space Sharks take Chapter Tactics if i am running Tyberos? The Crimson Fists can take Imperial Fist tactics with Pedro. My FLGS is pretty adamant that i cannot benefit from the Carcharadon keyword and the Chapter Tactics simultaneously. Do i have a snowballs chance in the Warp?

Tyberos locks you into the Carcharodons keyword, but the Carcharodons keyword does not have any Chapter Tactics this edition, so until FW updates their Chapter Tactics, you can pick whatever one you want.

Torrential Gearhulk reads, "Flash - When Torrential Gearhulk enters the battlefield, you may cast target instant card from your graveyard without paying its mana cost. If that card would be put into your graveyard this turn, exile it instead."

Pull From Tomorrow reads, "Draw X cards, then discard a card."

My question is, if you where to cast Torrential Gearhulk and then target Pull From Tomorrow would you just draw no cards then discard one, or would you tap "X" lands and draw that many then discard 1?

You don't know what X is so it has to be zero, this is why gearhulk decks run glimmer over pull.
It's the same as bringing back walking ballista, it just dies again because it's a 0/0
