Thread Question:
What is with all the female legends in Ixalan?
It's blatant pandering.
>>55219940
>I am not playing a fantasy game to look at grannies
Tough shit, all cards are now grannies. If you look in your binder, you'll find that all of your cards have been retroactively altered to be grannies.
In all seriousness, though, who gives a fuck? The art is actually pretty good, and just because you have some hangup about the character's age or gender it doesn't change that fact.
As I said last thread, whilst I agree that the abundance of female legends in the Pirate camp is a worrying sign of WotC's politically correct policies, looking at this card in isolation I find it hard to hate the art.

Any alternatives to the controversial Orion Drive for my Hard SF space opera setting?
Laser sail.
>>55219935
That sounds like it'll make some interesting plot hooks. /thread, I guess.
>>55219924
Nuclear thermal rockets.
Replace the Tyranids with the BETA. Is 40K humanity more screwed? Less? About the same?
>>55219577
Less, even.
>>55219577
Less. The imperium is not afraid to destroy whole worlds if need be and would have problem exterminatus a planet if the BETA become entrenched with their hives.
>>55220152
I mean, I'd consider destroying the planet a loss.
NO heroclix thread ever seems to take off here, so i figured i'd just keep trying
what is heroclix?
https://wizkids.com/heroclix/
Heroclix can be described as every superhero fight you came up with as a kid, put into board game form.
Well how do i play?
rulebook pdf and videos
https://wizkids.com/heroclix/gameplay/how-to-play/
well what kind of characters are there?
glad you asked!
http://www.hcrealms.com/index.php?page=units
also, if you have any, post some 300 point teams.
300 points, monster keyword
ghost of Abraham Lincoln, Death, Dr. Frankenstein, and Jacob Marley
Abe and Marley ignore characters for movement, and decrease attack by -2 to anyone they move through
Dr. Frankenstein has support and perplex. Perplex is a +2 if the target has monster keyword.
I honestly shouldn't be allowed to do this, but
300 points, monster keyword
Thats it, its just a mass of point effective, cheap as fuck pieces
300 points, surprisingly, Rampaging hulk has monster keyword, so i can use him here. The two skeleton champions give leadership, so everyone can preform an action in a turn.
To talk about any sci-fi game or other media than doesn't merit its own thread, post about your prefered space ships, mechs or alien race and have, for example, interesting discussion about what's the easies way to put something in orbit without your painful build colony ending broke.
How big it's a starships before it's too big?
Also anyone fearing the new legend of galactic heroes reboot?
What's /tg/ prefered way for FTL? Or do you think FTL it's haram.
>>55219610
Within Space Opera, I prefer FTL points around star systems that create choke points for attacking forces and also limit communications speed.

>>55219465
>villain teams up with protagonists to defeat even bigger threat

>>55219465

>>55219465
>when an antagonist is really a good person, but fundamentally disagrees with the PCs and their goals/outlook differ so much that compromise is impossible
So /tg/ have you tried making your zombies/undead creatures into super-powered magic beings who're also very intelligent/sapient.
Also any oldfags during the mid-2000's who remembers this good ol' flash game (pic related) during the time when you's are young and before taking into mainstream console and PC AAA gaming? Plus pic related has a very promising setting that anyone who still remembers this is not yet finished and sequel has still yet to come.

>>55219281
Sonny 2 has been out for ages.... With proper classes and improved combat and more abilities and shitton of references...
Oh man, I gotta replay the Sonny series.
Yeah Sonny was pretty cool.
As for intelligent zombies with superpowers: I haven't tried it yet, but I know that GURPS gives some ideas for that sort of idea in its book titled simply "Zombies."
ITT post your favourite mtg cards that are silly and/or break the norm.
bumpin'
So like a lot of people I find the usual magic systems in RPG to be rather unsatisfying. You have a number of spell points, slots or levels and a set list prepared spells to cast them with.
Sure there's may be some interesting spells to pick but the act of casting them isn't interesting or complicated. You don't feel like an individual trying to channel and control the energies of the universe. Rather simply someone asking reality to cash in a coupon.
In Magic the gathering on the other hand, you're constantly gathering and channelling the mystic energies of the land. Forces you can not hope to control but hope to direct.
Despite being designed for a card game there a lot of interesting potential for using it as a Magic system in an RPG.
Adding more shit to any system is already really lame unless you make WIZARDS: THE RPG.
you could go for legends of wulin and change the 5 chinese elements to the 5 mana colours of mtg
All honesty, I when I first heard about it, I thought Mage: The Awakening was a Magic: The Gathering RPG.
Granted, most of the the other World of Darkness stuff is about old hollywood monster archetypes.
long story short, someone wanting to make M:tG RPG isn't that surprising to me.

It's this time of the month again, lads

For example
>Glovia is dropped in the Blood o' the Wine Tavern
>Glovia has been serving as the town healer ever since the Priest has taken a leave from his senses and so she tends to the party's wounds and corpses from Death House
>Vasille becomes the Burgomaster's emissary and they go to rescue him in order to establish trust with Ismark in order for him to introduce them to Kolyan Indirovich
>Kolyan is still alive
>Ireena works as an aprentice to Glovia, and because of her vital role as the only other town healer, has refused to abandon her town for the sake of her patients
>The Wight who ambushed Vasille fights the party, but escapes before they can kill him, without them knowing he'll alert Strahd for the presence of the adventurers who have clearly made contact with the Kolyan
>Strahd hasn't attacked the Indirovich mansion ever since the adventurers arrived. He fears Ireena will die before he can take her, so he counts of outsiders source of entropy to disrupt the cycle enough for him to take his bride
Is there a good Swordsage archetype for 5e? I've looked at the Martial Adept class in the OP dropbox but the class features seemed a bit boring. I also took a peak at the Blademaster class someone made but with my untrained eyes I couldn't really judge it.https://www.dropbox.com/sh/dm7cymghws1qune/AABu_kzBJmxC7xjiar2nWJYma/Class%20-%20Martial%20Adept%20v0.7%2C%20by%20Kittenhugs.pdf?dl=0https://docs.google.com/document/d/1zHLtUBIOpuzbhov9Jk6GsCgftm1TIb2_Q8oHBWo26Jk/edit
Which version would you guys use, or do you have a better one perhaps?
>>55218218>The party arrives in barovia with Vasille and surrender him to Glovia and Ireena for care at the local hospice
>Ismark is grateful for the rescue of his vassal but concerned. When he went to his father, he revealed that he was already expecting them, and that has to do with Vistani trickery, whom Ismark *heavily* despises.
>So he advises caution and downtime for the party to walk around and do their downtime shit in Barovia before coming to the mansion whenever.
>When they do, Stanamir, playing the role of Sybil comes as an envoy of the Vistani caravan to the west, whom Madam Eva as tasked with the sharing of a vision, as a sign of good faith between them, a proof of her credentials, and an invitation for their visit.
>The dream sequence happens as normal except the role of the "Pretty Lady" is replaced by that of the "Handsome Man" who is
>The Abbot! He trades Glovia Falinescu's research into Flesh Golem surgery procedures for assistance in the ritual she needs to raise her daughter.
>Strahd interrupts the vision with an attack on the town of Barovia!
>The combat encounter runs the same except instead of a storage area with provisions for winter, you have the hospice with all the patients
>And lo who is leading the fight if not the wight they failed to kill before!

anyone have the black legion in mobi form?
Help me out /tg/, if I were to make a hex map of an entire world in a simple rectangle shape (basically a mercator projection, right?) would the distances at the poles be fucked or would it work fine?
I specifically want to map at least one of the poles and rest of the world to pretty much below the equator and can't figure this out on my own and couldn't find a straightforward answer..
Im no geographer but it sounds like the poles would be as wide as the equator. This means more northern places are larger than they really are and will take longer to cross
>>55217745
Generate one here:
http://donjon.bin.sh/
You can overlay a hex mat once you generate one, just use paint.net or photoshop.
Mercerator fucks distances at the poles.
Your best bet for a reasonable looking world would be to make a hexagonal "roof" for the world.
Post your "Good Guy" stuff.
Any time your bro has helped out at the table
Any time something didnt go quite right but your bro handled with with grace .
Any time you are your bro stood back to back as waves of monsters attacked you.
Post stories about your best times.
and dont take 'that guy' bait
This thread's bumped now.
Why?
Because I am here!
Our party has romantic subplots going on because why not. One of the party members who is friend with one of the lovebirds and shares race with the other has been doing great job being wingman for both, without breaking character's stoic minimum nonsense personality.
>>55218282
How about you share it bro. How you wingmaning stoicly
Why is D&D still the default assumption for anything related to roleplaying?
>>55217417
Because it was early, it established itself, it's good enough, and fun despite you autismos claiming otherwise.
>>55217417
Seeing how numbers are, nothing really surprising about it being a default for a fantasy roleplaying with a general public. What i'm kinda puzzled about is D&D being default assumption on /tg/. 4chan seem to be at least one standard deviation away with it's preferences, /a/ isn't exactly all hot for elfen lied and naruto, not many would call /pol/ a mainstream, neither are floor sheeting NEETs on /jp/ close to your average weeb. You would expect /tg/ to be leaning away from a standard sample one way or another, but it really don't deviate much.
>>55217417
Same way most people call all bandages band-aids, all nasal tissues klinex or all dart blasters nerf guns. They are most recognizable, and generally have the largest market share.
