Can a 5e treachery paladin only be evil by the UA or the book?
>>55238121
I don't believe it explicitly says that you must be evil
>>55238121
I know this is a thread about treachery paladins, but
>inb4 autists show up screeching "You don't have to be evil to be a conquest paladin! It's about rule of the law!"
>>55238121
Paladin has no aligment restrictions so yeah, you can be not evil (I feel it fits perfectly for tricksters of neutral kind, or some race's special soldiers that are there to fight evil in a way it doesn't expect)
I'm currently heading to my flgs to begin my imperial guard army. I haven't played since 4th, so I haven't kept up much with anything. What are the guard looking like right now? Also, I'm going to make a female commisar and maybe a small platoon of females as well. Ideas for conversion bits?
First; don't. As someone who played in 3.5 and 4th, and tried coming back, the new system is absolute dogshit.
That being said, check out Raging heroes and Victoria miniatures. They both sell straight up female infantry at competitive prices with GW.
Dogshit how? I'm in the store now. Red shirt ia trying to get me to buy starter set. I said I was here for IG, and he goes into a whole song and dance about how chaos is WAAAY better dude totally get the starter set you to get awesome chaos (ohbythewaynewcodexbuythattoo) and the rules!
I wanna punch him in the halls. We're dudes always this pushy? I don't feel like they were but I was young and derpy then.
>>55238168
It's bland, hordes of minis rule the meta so that GW can push more sales, it's literally 8th ed fantasy, except with even bigger, stupider centerpieces that can't even reliably clear conscript squads anymore.
It's literally an emptier, less fluffy system than Age of Sigmar.
Flamers and Blast templates are "d3/d6 hits"
Basilisks on average are getting 2 wounds a shot.
If you're getting back in, get with a recaster. Don't buy GW. DOn't listen to the shit they tell you. They're trying to push you into shit they don't want for selfish reasons. The staff at a GW rarely care about helping you.

Probably because chess is ever-increasingly based on theory and preparation and so there are more players than ever before capable of beating the world #1 in any given game

Thread Question:
How much money do you generally spend on a deck initially for its first play test. How much money do you usually dump into it after for upgrades?
>>55236614
If it's a deck concept I really like, anywhere from $50 to $100 plus the staples I already have for the deck.
>>55236614
>How much money do you generally spend on a deck initially for its first play test.
$30-$50.
>How much money do you usually dump into it after for upgrades?
$30-$50 more. This game is fun, but not worth spending huge amounts of money on.
>>55236602
Dralnu, at least in my experiments, doesn't play that much creatures so someone trying to Act you wants you to sac a lot of lands and artifacts. If you switch with that person he is the one who'll need to sac a lot of lands and artifacts.
You can always just Pact the Blasphemous Act with flashback, it's easy to pay the 3UU most of the time anyway.
Has any tried reading checking out BBC's new Pidgin language version of their site?
I swear, this is probably the closest I have come to reading undercommon or skaven-speak before.
Any other IRL languages that seem like they might fit in with a fantasy setting.

Look up the Hawaiian bible. It's in Hawaiin Pidgin and sounds like something from an Ork.

Help me understand. How does Dominate exactly works?
If I'm right, I roll against the target WILL and if I win it does anything as long as it's not self destructive. What exactly affects my chance of succeding? Is there a way to boost chance?
Also what exactly is self destructive? Why can I tell it to go fight but I cannot tell it to kill itself? Could I tell it to walk towards the middle of ocean or like jump from a bridge?
At least, removing self destructive, is anything on the table? Could I for example ask the King to assassinate the prince? Or him to give me all the gold in the kingdom or command his troops to destroy another kingdom?

Read the fucking book.
>If I'm right, I roll against the target WILL and if I win it does anything as long as it's not self destructive. What exactly affects my chance of succeding? Is there a way to boost chance?
Standard will save. Boost it by boosting your spellcasting modifier and by weakening its will save. You can do that by reducing its wisdom, or casting one of the spells that exist for that purpose.
>Also what exactly is self destructive? Why can I tell it to go fight but I cannot tell it to kill itself? Could I tell it to walk towards the middle of ocean or like jump from a bridge?
The rule is that it disobeys any "obviously self-destructive" commands. So anything that's going to lead to certain death. It's meant to prevent it from being a will save Finger of Death spell. So walking into the ocean would work until it gets too deep, jumping off a bridge would work if the fall was survivable. Fighting a monster would be up to your DM; I'd say it'd work unless it was obviously impossible to win, like feeding a peasant to a tarrasque, and that they'd retreat if they were too close to death.
>At least, removing self destructive, is anything on the table? Could I for example ask the King to assassinate the prince? Or him to give me all the gold in the kingdom or command his troops to destroy another kingdom?
Yes. Anything is on the table. But remember that if you give them a command against their nature they get another save at +2. So the first two commands would absolutely get another save at a bonus. The latter might, depending on whether it's an allied nation or one they've been feuding with for a while.
is disallow the best way to deal with graveyard hate from crook of condom nation and skeleton snek desert right now?
pic related is my deck. i'm considering putting in a disallow or two.
>>55236431
do you know that your deck won't gonna be last long (2/3 weeks)?
answering your question:
yes, disallow (and maybe nimble obstructionist too) are the best way against graveyard hate
>>55236518
Yeah I know it won't last long, and yeah I bought the ulamogs just this past weekend. I've been building around the scarab god a lot and already had two lili's. I've been trying to do some type of re animator, and just recently clicked with the ulamog. At least he's a sick card and I won't mind having him in my collection, just to look at, for being so busted. If he can get me a promo fatal push then i'll be satisfied. Also there's so much graveyard hate coming up that I may as well make a decent reanimator deck while I still can. looks like it's getting trashed soon. I don't know why scarab god price keeps going but, but that's good for me.
>playing really budget version of U/W approach on MTGO
>playing against some kind of temur deck with a lot of planeswalkers
>have a sideboarded kefnet on the field with 5 cards in hand
>tapped out because I was certain my enemy could not resolve something I could care about
>he suddenly plays fucking Bolas
>start shitting my pants
>realize he can empty my hand making kefnet useless
>realize he can +2 so I have to spend really fucking many turns attacking him with him probably getting something good
>he instead deals 7 damage to my face (I was at 18)
I don't think I have ever seen an enemy play that bad. Often he just passed with creatures able to attack and he almost always used the wrong loyalty ability of planeswalkers

Anyone played this? It seems amazing, but I rarely, if ever, even see it mentioned. Also very hard on the roleplay so I imagine it won't appeal to rollplayers, minmaxers, and thatguys.

How do you board and pacify an O'Neill cylinder? What's the composition of the armies and how do you wage war in a setting where these are the main form and most numerous of space settlements?

You would only need a few very good guys to breach the command center and take over the controls. Once it is done, the cylinder is yours. If anybody disagrees, you can just vent the atmosphere and/or kill the power until they change their minds.
I kinda worked with the idea, my estimate was 4 elite and ultra-badass fireteams of power-armored infantry and an equal amount of expendable but tough-as-nails combat drones. This must be enough unless the colony's security force has crazy short response times.

What the fuck is the point of playing a tabletop rpg if you don't fucking let anyone do shit? The entire god damn time I'm just randomly saying things to do hoping that eventually this fat fuck lets me do something in the game. Pic related, it seems that any time someone calls out DM bullshit it's "hurrr you hate having consequences!" No, maybe I'm tired of guessing what the DM will actually let me do. When I have to keep randomly guessing actions in the hopes that I can guess what the one thing is that the DM has in mind that I can do then the game is bad and so is the DM. After this I can believe some of the horror stories on here. And being a nice guy doesn't excuse shit playing like that. I almost feel bad because they're nice people and I got along well with them all, but can I fucking play the game? Can I be allowed to do anything that isn't expressly scripted? And I have played linear games before, so I know that it was all worked out ahead of time and I never had to do the ttrpg equivalent of bunny hopping into walls hoping to find a way to progress. Fuck DMs like that with a rake.
