Where do you stand on the argument between generic one-size-fits-all armor and sex-specific armor? Are there really any outstanding advantages over one side or the other?

What is this, 2004?
As far as a nation's armed forces is concerned, the logistical burden of maintaining sex-specific equipment would probably steer them away from it.
Nobles, generals, knights, etc can get away with stuff as customized as their riches allow. Possibly trickling down to their attendants as well.

First for the Druchii and first for Naggaroth!
Need WFRP advice.
One of my players started as a Marine, advanced to Mate, and is now almost ready to advance to Sea Captain. He just needs a few last skills. The problem is two of them don't seem super logical, namely Speak Language (Breton, Kislevite, OR Tilean) and Trade (Shipwright).
Both of those skills are super complex and would involve many months of training at best, and years at worst. In situations like this, would you suggest swapping out the skills for others? But what if they are put in place specifically to BE difficult, thus limiting access to the more advanced career?
>>55213658
To be honest it can be roleplayed as "I've been picking up bits of the language here and there." Being from Florida, I can tell you that you don't have to be able to speak a language very well at all to be understood.

Magic isn't a perfect game, or even the best game.
>>55211082
It is not perfect, but I'd fucking fight someone if they actually thought there was a better card game out there
Aberations don't get apreciated enough. We have threads about elves and drows but no love for the intellect devourers?
Unacceptable.

What does popular culture look like in the grim darkness of the far future? If you were in the charge of making Imperial videogame or Academy Awards winning movie, how would you subtly influence the loyal subjects to be willing to report their own heretical relatives and neighbours?
>>55198391
Pop culture depends on the world. It might be bloodsport arenas on some, bardic tales on another. Imperial Propaganda would of course permeate it all.
It's a moot question, anon. The Imperium doesn't have a unified culture, just some general threads running through it. There's not going to be anything that appeals to all of the imperium at once

Did the Harriers actually win the cup?
This guy wants to join your game and gives you this backstory - what do you say to him?

>>55198365
>>55198425
The only good thing from the backstory
>>55198445
??? Sorry, I don't get it.
Let's imagine Demonic entities, and the deals they make. I'll start:
Bezial, Lord of Whispers
>Split your tongue, and offer the spilt blood in a silver chalice to Bezial and you will forever hear his murmurs, informing you whenever your name is mentioned
>Offer to Bezial your uvula and he shall give your words venom; whispering the perfect retort to you whenever you should need
>Offer to Bezial your whole tongue, and you can hear the thoughts of others bubbling in their heads, and speak to them from afar
Abraxas, The Widening Maw
>Sever a finger, then roast it and eat it: offer to Abraxas the knuckles and you will never feel hunger again
>Offer to Abraxas the flesh torn from another man's throat and he shall give you teeth harder than iron, and let you smell fresh blood from afar
>Offer to Abraxas your own entrails, and he shall fill your gut with such toxin as to burn stone and turn metal to slag
Let's see what else I can think of, while waiting for me folks to roll in.
Marchosias, The Wild Marquis
>Feed your eldest child's blood to your hound, and you shall have an undying companion who follows your every command
>Offer to Marchosias your eldest child's gut, fed to your hound, and he will grow it long and sleek, able to slip between shadows and moving without leaving any trace
>Offer to Marchosias your eldest child's heart, fed to your hound, and he will grant it impenetrable hide; its breath will be fire; and its fangs will be long as daggers
I also have this much, but it feels lacking to me and not thematic enough.
Beezlebub, Lord of the Flies
>Betray your closest compatriot to their death, and Beelzebub will grant you sanctuary from sickness and blight
>>55197427
I'd contribute but sadly I'm about to go to sleep, so I will just bump the thread in the hopes that it picks up.
>>55197427
Phenex
>swallow a handful of glowing coals and let Phenex feast on your pain, and he will grant your voice the magic of the bards for a month and a day
>offer Phenex the wings of a celestial upon the burning altar and he shall grant you wings of fire of your own
>offer your soul and Phenex shall raise you up from death in a column of flame, though he shall do this but once
>Casters rule, martials drool.
Why are ttrpgs so afraid of limiting casters just a smidge so that there's at least one or two things martials can do that casters can't?
>>55191087
It's a western culture thing. There's no tradition of internal power (it's there in the myths, but not as a major constant) like the east. And nu-fedoras can't into fantasy physics being different from IRL materialism.
One thing I like to do is just give some drawbacks to magic. One of my favorite is monsters that feed of arcane magic so they hunt wizards and the like. Gives me a nice encounter to pull out of no where as well.
>>55191381
I just make crits stupidly easy to roll for martials. It has the effect of making caster piss themselves.
It isn't D&D edition
The bulk of what the curious should know is pic related. To summarize: GURPS is a point-buy universal system, with a default that leans towards "plausible verisimilitude". You can crank the dial toward cinematic as you please. There are advantages and disadvantages, which cost points and give points back, respectively. The core resolution mechanic is 3d6 roll-under stat or skill, and everything else is more or less an extension of that. Social rolls and damage rolls are the exception.
The best way to learn GURPS is to read GURPS Lite first, before you read the Basic Set. Lite is very much the distilled essence of the game, with no supernatural or alien traits. It's 32 pages, free, and you can run games with it!

gurpsgen, what's your favorite character you've written up or played? I've been playing a lot of Heroes of the Storm, lately, and there are a few characters who would be fun to emulate. As a GM, do you ever indulge yourself in wanting to execute a cool character concept by inserting them into your games? I've done that a couple times. Once was for a cyberpunk game, wherein I inserted a robot/synth that _really_ enjoyed using explosives, especially on the property of his former tormentors.
>>55186803
Massive mechs vs Kaijus? Sounds fun.
What is slowing you down, anon? With what are you having trouble?

lord have mercy, battlefront is slow at answering emails
>around a month ago, buy infantry and 5 models are just not included, countless more are very badly damaged or miscast
>email BF about it, they take 2 weeks to answer
>they ask me to fill out a damaged item form, that's fine, I send the info right back
>8 days later they respond saying it will be in the post
>that was 6 days ago. received another email just now, "ETA is roughly 4-5 weeks on that item. We can send you missing items at that time."
do they only have one guy answering emails? I answer 100+ emails at my job in a day. Do they really get that much email traffic that it automatically takes over a week to answer an email? Or would it just be better to phone them

>Yes, you are. READ the changes before griping (it's fucked up enough without exagregations and strawmen)
>- Your Red Banner Strelk is (I assume) heroes, so are unaffected, only non-hero units are hit by this.
>- LW Soviets do not get reduced points, that's "only" for EW soviets (where everything is hit on 2+ already).
Red Banner Strelk is in Barbarossa. It's the only Trained list the soviets got. Now it's conscript, at the same points as it was at trained, AND suffers the "you only get 85% of normal points" thing. Or you could assume that they're talking about the LW one where neither of these apply, in order to keep up your assumption that everyone saying something bad is a moron. Perhaps you should think more before you strawmen people as not reading?

Hey /tg/
Starting a new campaign in the Westerlands, and I was hoping people could help me out with some pictures!
Hoping for both drawn images and real world sites and armors that range from pictures of armies, landscapes, peasantry, and architecture that also feels thematic for the Song of Ice and Fire universe.
I'll throw up some images to get the thread going and show the style I'm hoping for.
