Why is it that dividing something by nothing is impossible? If nothing truly is nothing than wouldn't that mean that dividing by 1 and dividing by 1 are the same in a way? Or is zero really just glitch in the number system to define a state of non existence?

The truth value of the premise appears to be independent of the truth value of the conclusion, which appears to be true

I'm writing a fantasy story where a character (willingly) disappears into another dimension.

What would the most plausible consequences of this action be?
Would it affect the memories of others about this person? Or reverse his/her deeds? (I guess not.)
What are other consequences to consider?

Why people don't dissolve in that water if its pH is 1.1?
29 posts and 1 images submitted.
>>
>>8787954
If any naked human bathes in water with pH ~1, regardless of any other factors, he will start to dissolve and get dissolved if he remains in the pool.

So there are only three solutions, which are
>the water in which humans bathe in Tamagawa is NOT pH ~1
>they dip into the water very fast and get slightly hurt
>they swim in the water and get extensive burns
>>
they probably mix the spring water that goes to the bath with neutral water so it doesn't dissolve you.
Actually, they have to since the regular temperature of the spring is also 90 degrees celsius
>>
>>8787958
>>8787962

This was written in one article:

Like the neighboring Tamagawa Onsen, the main feature of Shin-tamagawa Onsen is its strongly acidic hot spring water. The water here has a PH value of 1.2, which is unusual even by Japanese onsen standards, and it exhibits powerful sterilizing properties that are good for activation of liver functions and treatment of rheumatism, anemia, skin diseases, and other ailments. Entering this hot spring, you will be able to experience the stimulating sensation of soaking in what feels like carbonated water. The effects can be felt right away, as your whole body begins to tingle and go numb just like one’s mouth feels after eating extremely spicy food. You can also drink the waters, which are good for the stomach.

So there is no substances that have very low <2 or very high >13 pH that doesn't fuck you up right away?

Imagine if it just gets increasingly hard going FTL. Then with limited resources you would still have limited speed.

Imagine alien living 10'000 lightyears away from us and spots us today.
He of course wants to destroy us because he clearly sees he is an superior organism to us.
His best ship travels at the speed of 100 lightyears per year.
It will still take him 100 years to reach us.
>>
This is assuming that we are automatically less advanced than any aliens. It is also assuming that we have something worth conquering. Also that they are near enough to detect us in time, as any signal from us would still be limited by c.

Sit down, Anon, please.

We have come to an conclusion that we either give this 10 million euros to you for your mathematical research, or to this Chad Volcanobrain for his gender research of lambda-sexuality and sexual-oscillations.

So please, give us a 3 minute presentation on the subject "The economic benefits of modern mathematics research".
You know, topics like "infinite sets", "prime numbers", "non-Euclidean geometry".

I'll note you that Chad just gave us an EXCELLENT presentation on his research subject. So try your best!
But please, go ahead.

We have decided to give the research grant to Chad. As you are well aware, over 80 million American citizens suffer greatly from sexuality and gender related diseases and disorders, Anon. For example, over 20% of Americans don't identify themselves as either male or female, and over 55% of American young males have CMPA disorder (compulsory masturbation and porn addiction) disorder.
