What does /sci/ think about this book?
Never heard of it and it's neither Spivak nor Apostol so it's probably shit.
Should science be bounded by ethics, even if it means a massive slowing of scientific progress that could have benefit society?

is there any way for me to become a doctor?
like can i apply for medical school after I graduate?
ya, just start getting extra curriculars now and make sure you have your prerequisites when you apply
usually some chem classes, calc (which you probably have), biochem I think, anatomy/physiology, and maybe 1 or 2 more classes
start trying to do research relating to the medical field as well immediately and of couse volunteering at hospitals/shadowing physicians
Anyone have AoPS vol 1 & 2 ebooks they can share?

Why do some professors teach easy classes?

or is he just a pseudoscience crank?

He is about 90% crank these days. It's strange how similar the evolution from genius to crank is among these people.

The pixels in your TV screen does a grating effect. Similar to normal lines grating. The phenomenon involved is called diffraction.

>they thought they could go back in time in a blackhole
>they though time goes slower at faster speeds
>they thought you can't exceed the speed of light

For personal mobility thruster devices designed for vertical and lateral movement and fall mitigation, would a pelvic mounted thruster or a thoracic thruster be better suited? Balance, size, and thrust to weight ratio are the biggest factors, power source isn't.

You want it to be as close to Centre of gravity as possible to avoid changes in momentum from small variations.

Hi, first post here. What is your opinion of this book? One of my favorites. Bach is one of my favorite composers, so that makes this book even better.
>>9128533
It must be one of the really few books that take self-reference seriously. Everything that has to do with it is so focused on paradoxes rather than the interesting/useful parts...
I think self-reference has been criminally neglected, when it's so important to.. well almost everything. Even in scientific third person experiments, where they do not account for themselves as part of the experiment or all those attempts to understand the universe without understanding you yourself trying to understand the universe is part of the universe and should be take into account..

thoroughly enjoyed it
very few books are as ambitious or creative as this one
the dialogues were great
need to re read at some point soon
Why are the complex numbers algebraically closed? Why is there no algebraic operation that would require the invention/discovery of a third type of number, orthogonal to the reals and imaginaries, to extend the complex plane?

I'm a scaredy cat. So weak-willed, that I'm afraid of pursuing goals. So afraid that I've never gotten through a horror movie. Every moment of my life I'm afraid of some hypothetical scenario where my actions will lead to me dying screaming from the pain, and then being tortured for all eternity in Hell.
Do you have any /sci/entific ways that will help me stop being such a weak-willed pussy?

>pic unrelated, I just figured you could use a nice ass-gif

1. You won't go to Hell.
2. Understand the reason you're scared/weak willed is because you are fearful of not being accepted by others. Anxiety also stems from this.
3. Believe you're confident and the real thing will follow.
4. Nothing grows in the comfort zone.
