What is /sci/ opinion on Thorium for nuclear power. I have only heard good things about it.

why?

>>
>>9137326
It's not a letter, it's an imaginary unit.
>>
>>9137326
It's a hassle to write root(-1) for every imaginary number, and so i is neater and easier.

Off by infinity is literally considered close enough when you're a quantum physicist.
>When you did a calculation to see what you should observe in an experiment you always seemed to get an infinite answer with an extra finite bit added on. If you then subtracted off the infinity, the finite part that you were left with was the prediction you expected to see in the lab. And this always matched experiment fantastically accurately. This process of removing the infinities was called renormalisation.

Renormalization only works because there are real infinities.

Are there any physics books that list common situations' differential equations and their solutions so people don't have to solve them every time the situation changes? Like a solutions book for common problems? Maybe a list and explanation of different types of instabilities?

It wouldn't be a textbook; it would be more terse, but comprehensive. Anyone know anything like that.

>>
I don't know but that's doesn't seem very useful today. If you want to check for a known solution plug in Mathematica. If you want further analysis just do it yourself, your understanding will be way better and you don't waste time wandering around textbooks

No, it hits eventually; it's a just a really long gif.

I should really be using Mathematica then. It feels like cheating, though.

Just talk to your guidance councilor about switching your class schedule.

Science questions

1. If I take two anti hydrogrens and an anti oxygen would I have anti water?

2. If I have two strains of weed called strain A and strain B and cross breed them to make strain C then I make a joint out of C called joint C. Then I make a second joint that is half A half B, called joint AB. Is joint C going to be different then joint AB in terms of the high?

3. I don't understand p np. Does it pretty much mean that if I have 10 strings of hay and one needle its easy to find the needle, but if I multiple the hay by 100x it becomes 10000x harder to find the needle?
16 posts and 2 images submitted.
>>
>>9137073
>1
As far as I know the theory supports this being possible, yes.
>2
Not necessarily, depends on how the crossbreeding affects the distribution of chemicals in the weed.

>3
p vs. np is more like a question of whether it's possible to find every possible needle in a haystack as quickly as you can check if they are there when told where they are.
>>
>>9137193
So couldnt you just logically come to the conclusion that p is not equal to np since its obviously easier to find something if you already know where to look vs having to brute force it
>>
What would anti water look like?

Would it be an anti liquid?

Also, the lack of American armchair paleontologists this year was refreshing due to its international location

I wonder how solid the questions behind the selection process that chooses the person to interview people is.

A bird shit on me while I was sitting outside the other day. I washed it off then got an umbrella and continued sitting outside.
