Umm, no sweetie. As an engine its completely characterless. It doesn't rev very high, it sounds as generic as a V8 can possibly sound, and the only reason it's considered reliable is because of ubiquity of parts.

The only reason it's considered reliable is you can have 500hp in a good idling engine that will get 20+mpg and run for 100,000 miles for a few grand

I think they are a fad. Even worse, they are an excuse for manufacturers to spend less money, integrating all of the controls onto a cheap touch screen instead of using quality buttons and knobs with tactile feedback. Controls via touch screen are objectively worse than physical ones, and can cause crashes because you are forced to take your eyes off the road to adjust the climate control or radio.
The way I see it, I look at enough screens throughout my daily life. I sure as hell don't want to look at another one in the car too.
I know I sound like a ranting old man, but at 23 it seems like no one else in our age group thinks this way.

What's the fastest way to defog your windscreen if you got to park your car outside.
sometimes I would think it's all clear and good to go then as I'm driving the screen starts to fog up again and this time round the wipers barely do shit

typically the car will put out enough heat if you crank the heat up and set it on defrost and let it idle 10mins or so.

They need more power than a 4, but don't have the space for a balanced inline 6.

Started this thread a while ago but people didn't really seem to understand what I meant. I'm specifically referring to "car enthusiasm", not road rules/conditions/etc. specifically unless they may factor in to how good or bad it is. Things like
>strict car mod laws
>high ratio of ricers to legit nice/fast cars
>shitty attitudes/behaviours of the average person in the community
>low availability of racetracks and the quality/quantity of any kind of "racing scene"
>shitty police attitudes/behaviour/procedure when interacting with this demographic
and whatever else you can think of that would make a car scene shit
