Are MINI's good cars at all?
I keep seeing autotragic Coopers in my area for sale between 50-90k miles for less than 7k.
The N/A ones, not the supercharged S models.
Are they reliable for a student on a limited budget who has a little more and wants to avoid a dirty 3k civic/corolla?
Is it really more gay to drive one than it is to drive a miata?
>>17324693
why don't you get e36 318is and stop being a faggot.
>>17324693
No. The na ones are slow and have the same rattly interior as the fi ones. The s models are very unreliable.
>>17324693
There are 3 problems with Minis.
1. Low resale value, especially of newer models. There isn't much demand for them in the USA, they're a fairly niche brand, and there isn't a huge network of dealers.
2. They're British + German, so they have reliability issues. Maybe not as bad as BMW/Mercedes/Audi, but they're not cheap to repair like anything American.
3. The interior design is cheap. Just miles and miles of plastic for something that is supposed to be hip and urban.
Seriously though, they're actually perfectly fine.
I am a Graphic Design college student and my project is create a new ficctional brand of cars focused on "Gear Heads" and i want know if you guys can could answer some questions
>What car means for you?
>What you want try find when you want get a new car to use?
>You put your car trustness on a brand?
>>17324688
1. A car is a means to get around for normies. For enthusiasts, cars are an extension of one's personality and passion.
2. I try and find a good mix of power, utility, and comfort in cars I buy. I look for cars with the best balance of those three traits and compare them through dealership visits and test drives.
3. My parents have a big boner over volvo, but I have less of an orientation towards particular car manufacturers. I do have a preference for European-manufactured cars, however.
>>17325107
> I do have a preference for European-manufactured cars, however.
More Italian, UK or German?
Cars are contrived lifeforms that need to be nurtured and cared for to get the best out of them. They each have their own personalities and needs.
I want a car that I am personally attracted to and also a car that mechanically functions. It could be any car, I just have to like how it looks and how it runs.
I don't care for any specific brand bit there are definitely brands that I put me off from a car like pretty much any American brand.
Talk to me about wheel spacers. Recessed wheels are a sore sight on any car, just as much as sticking outside of the fenders.
Im guessing suspension geometry has to be adjusted accordingly? Is there a chart or way to go about calculating the variables? Recommended brands?
>>17323986
Suspension geometry isn't changed, only your offset.
This can cause things like bump steer if you change it a lot.
it will change the scrub radius
>>17323986
/o/ will likely sperg out
They can be literally measured by edge tire outward to fender or space you are trying to fill in mm.
There are two types:
>HUBCENTRIC spacers w/ extended wheel studs. These are the safest up to about 20mm
>Hubcentric adapters that bolt to your stock studs and have their own studs pressed into them which your wheels bolt to.
You can safely use either as long as they are torqued down to proper spec and you check them periodically.
However I do not recommend them for track use. They also cause premature bearing wear and change your suspension geometry.
tell me about her /o/?
Does she ride with you frequently?

What sports car should I get if I don't want to be seen as a "boiracer"? What should I avoid?
None. Get something that makes sense.

Buy whatever you like, that's a stupid way to decide on a car.
>>17321953
Really any Porsche
maybe not the 944
Honestly tho, if you like it, go for it. Fuck what normies think desu
Is it smart or dumb to buy a manual for your first car?
It's neither. Manual vs automatic is a meme, buy whichever you prefer
>>17321826
Its good just so you'll know how to drive, but there are literally no advantages modern manuals have over automatics
>>17321826
Manual is overrated, go auto.
Is a non M series bmw even a real bmw?
My uncle's friend is selling a 3 series for 15 K but my buddy (who has car in pic related) told me that anything but an M series is not a real bmw.
>>17320425
It's all brand whoring, M or not.
>>17320425
Yeah it's a fake from China. Always look for the M badge, if it doesn't have it, it's just a knockoff.

I am going Tuesday to buy a new motorcycle, it will be used 90% on road with minimal light trail riding (have a 300exc for that). I plan on riding around 1-1500 miles a month, I am torn between the 701 and the FE501 bikes. I live in the foothills of the Appalachian mountains so all of my riding would be on back twisty roads. I am looking at each bike this way
FE501
>240lbs
>~60ish HP
>best to do oil changes every 500miles
>check valves every 1000 miles
701
>320lbs
>71ish HP
>oil change every 3000 miles
>check valves every 12,000 miles
The weight difference between the two cancels out the HP advantage of he 701 so at that point it's basically a matter of maintenance. I don't mind the *idea* of the maintenance schedule of the 501 however in practice it may be a different story. Should I just go with the bike I want? Or should I be more pragmatic in my choice and buy the 701?
Supersport
Pretty sure the 501 is made with competitive dirt racing in mind, not regular road riding. That maintenance schedule would be a catastrophe for a road bike.
>it will be used 90% on road
>buys an enduro

My right rear door isn't shutting all the way; it's as if something is getting caught. I noticed it when I went to go wash my car and there were water dots on the INSIDE of the window. The weather strips are intact and attached; I've also looked at the door itself and the mechanisms on it, but can't seem to find out what part is stuck, why it is, and how to fix it.

Does an Evo 6 have a rear diff, and is welding it as good an idea in real life as it is in my head?
>>17312450
Yes, an evo 6 will have a rear differential
I wouldn't because if you can afford an Evo you should be able to afford a good torsen or other locking diff
