>bought a Honda rebel on Craigslist for $1700
>worked great for awhile
>driving to the beach and the clutch blows out on the highway
>get it to a mechanic
>apparently the bike is a 2007 model, not a 2010 which was on the paperwork
>the clutch was tightened and the guy who sold it to me probably knew it was gonna go out soon
>give me an estimate of $1400(!!!) to fix it
>say fuck it and order parts online
>just got the replacement clutch plus all the tools needed to change it

I plan on selling this piece of shit once I fix it and buying a new bike

Any advice on replacing a clutch? And good tutorial videos for a honda rebel?

Do I need to soak the new plates in oil before I put them in?

>Any advice on replacing a clutch?
Loosen the bolts around the basket little by little in a star pattern otherwise you risk snapping them or fucking the threads up when there's only 1 or 2 bolts left.
>Do I need to soak the new plates in oil before I put them in?
Only the fiber plates, not the metals, and even then you can get away with skipping that step.

What are some cheap easy ways to improve aerodynamics and fuel economy?
13 posts and 3 images submitted.
>>
Lose weight fatty
>>
>>17534576
That's a valid point because the driver's weight also affects a car's fuel economy by a slight amount.
>>
>>17534573
Can't do much to improve aero. Keep your Windows rolled up. Don't put a spoiler on it or amything.

Best way to get fuel econ is weight reduction and tifes .

Im going to go look at a Corrado 16v im interested in next week
heard they can be tough to keep running and are money pits
should I just drop it?

So I'm trying to buy a Fiesta ST used...I'm looking at this 2014 Fiesta ST Race Red with Recaro Seats w/ 21k Miles...the dealership said 17k is final price. Is this deal worth it??

This is what that shill said....
Hello anon , Jesse Valadez Sls Mgr here. Here's the final deal. Wholesale is 15,486.00 and the Retails is 16,712.00 Kelly Blue book notes , Fair Market Value is 15486.00 to 17500.00, You can buy this for 15486.00 Doc Fee 80.00 , DMV electronic fee is 10.50 , Registration for July 02, 2017 to July 2018. is 268.00, and your sales tax @ 8.25 for your city is 1284.20.------------ T O D is $ 17,128.00.------------ As you can see Taxes and Fees are . 1642.70. That means I would have to sell this to you for $ 13,843.00 to be at 15000.00 OTD. , That would be 1643..00 below Wholesale. , Bottom Line, I can't accept your offer. 17,128.00 is the final price. It's been good going back and forth but your offer is unrealistic. Jesse Valadez

Not worth it, just walk away.
>>
>>17534469

Why not? That's around the price I'm seeing for these vehicles.

The only other one around the price has 32k miles and going for the same price but has a moonroof as well.
>>
Just go to another dealership and show them the offer they gave you.

Repeat until you get a good deal.

t.Bought similar Fiesta for 14k

Is Mazda /ourbrand/ now? I just drove a 3 and it's a lot more "satisfying" to drive than the current Golf or Civic that everyone recommends. The Civic is quicker and more comfortable and the Golf is more refined. But the Mazda has real steering feel, the pedal feel is great, the interior layout isn't fussy and feels pretty good, the steering wheel and shifter feel like they came straight from the Miata etc. Looks are subjective but I think it looks the best out of the bunch. I may get one next year.

I'd recommend a Civic (with a CVT) or Golf or Elantra to most people that want a hatch but the Mazda is better to drive. The main downsides are the infotainment in some models which I'd just do without and the road noise. It feels like they stripped out weight to make it super light but it could use some more sound-deadening.

When have Mazda ever not been /ourbrand/?
>>
Maxda has always had a design philosophy that includes making the cars handle well for the target market. They might not be the most powerful but they always handle well. Thats one of the reason im a mazda fan.
>>
>>17534218
I daily a 3 and the throttle pedal is a garbage floor mount. But I will agree that for having electric power steering the feel is nice, maybe a bit light.

The best bit though is the gearbox. Moving from a 2.5RS' notchy feel to this Maz3's soft input is awesome.

I'm going to the burgerring tomorrow.

Probably lose some weight first, fatass. However if self confidence is part of your problem, feeling as close to death as you do on a bike might help you realize there are worse things than getting blown off by some slut.
>>
>>17534172
It's probably bullshit.

Knowing me, I'm going to die a virgin.

Too ugly and self hating to ever get a gf, even a ZX10R or GSXR wouldn't help.
>>
>>17534172
It's just bullshit. Window dressings like a fancy car or a bike won't help you if you're a poor ugly unappealing fatass loser with a terrible personality. Work on self improvement instead of looking for a shortcut.

Turbo V6's are clearly better than V8's for track performance. Why would you want extra weight if you're trying to create a lightweight track vehicle?

Does anyone here own or have owned a trailblazer? They seem like really solid trucks, at least on paper. Why were they discontinued? I'm really thinking about buying one
18 posts and 1 images submitted.
>>
>>17533878

these are the worst generation trucks ever built, horrific fuel mileage and dependability

buy one if you are poor but asking about it here is retarded
>>
>>17533878
The SS is the only one worth buying because the power makes up for the shit interior quality and mpg.
>>
The Blazer was always a 'fun' vehicle, when they changed to the Trailblazer it went a little too soft for the audience that followed.

I'd stick to the previous generations, despite that appealing I6 Atlas engine.

>NOTHING is going right for me.
And nothing will until you change this attitude. Make things go right for you. If they fail you, they explain exactly why. Learn from it, and git gud.

Actually, since this is the 3rd or 4th thread you've made in the last couple days, just get a bus pass.
>>
>>17533882
This

Why can't you pass, cause driving is probably the most straightforward thing to do and uses common sense
>>
>>17533882
I have not made a thread on /o/ in the last few days actually. In fact I haven't posted in weeks.

Anyways I keep repeating the same mistakes I never learn or I panic or something else goes wrong. I know that this is a victim mentality where I'm making myself to be this "unlucky guy who bad things keep happening to", which isn't possible but I can't help it.

Why does BMW, Mercedes, and Audi make police cars but Cadillac and Lincoln don't?

None of those make police vehicles as far as I know.

Its usually just a third-party conversion of a standard car

Police cars need to be fast and reliable, americans can't into either.

Honda said its new Accord's improvements include:

>A lighter and more rigid body structure.
>New chassis design.
>Two new direct-injected and turbocharged 4-cylinder engines and a new generation of Honda's two-motor hybrid technology.
>The first 10-speed automatic transmission for a front-drive car.
>More space inside with a larger trunk and a longer wheelbase for more rear leg room.
>More comfortable seats, including a 12-way power adjustable driver's seat.
>Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility
>Standard driver-assist safety technologies, including adaptive cruise control.
>The Accord will offer a number of trim levels -- six for the 1.5-liter version, four for the 2-liter version and five for the hybrid.

Crossovers are the normie car.
>>
To be quite honest i drive a 16 gti and its the most well biult sports car you can get at the 25 k level. Add all the bells and wistles and ita just so damn amazing... All in all it doesnt matter what the V.A.G. puts out it just comes out well. Even the base polo has more standard feature than all of its competitors at an aggressive price point. I would kill for any Porsche and id say the same for audi. And for all of those who wanna cqll me a shill i an ameri-kindafat that used to swear by american brands i even had a transam as my weekend car but i bought my gti from chevy because it killed everything they had. I was just blown away. Looks, power, features, the little golf line traits like the shift knob. The vw dealer by me has shit service but i can say that they do make amazing cars.

I'd prefer proper grand tourers that aren't stratospherically expensive, but fags only care about raw numbers and not a smooth ride at high speed over long distances
