It's developmental. That means it happens over the course of your life, likely by a mix of genetic and environmental factors, but cannot be consciously influenced. We don't know how to make people gay

If it's cultural, there won't be any gay christians or muslims. If it's environmental, every athletes would be gay by now. No muslim wants to be hanged/thrown off a building just to suck a dick, so it's not a choice.

My own personal take on the T part of being LGBT is that being trans can be cause by multiple things and it'll express itself in different ways depending on a person's experiences and personality. That most people need some sort of biological base to even be able to become trans at all, and from there dysphoria develops from experiences. Psychological scars can exacerbate the problem. But without the biological bas it's very hard to get someone to have very bad gender dysphoria. This is going to be a really unpopular opinion, but I think that most people should be put thrpugh exhaustive alternative treatments before being aided in transition by a doctor. I mean if you want to do it yourself, you own your body. Do whatever you want, but once you bring other people into it, it becomes a different matter. I waited 5 years after learning about transitioning to start because it got to the point where I was going to kill myself, but if there was another way I would have taken it. If a person's dysphoria can be releaved in any other way then it's better to save this as a last resort.
