I think for an untrained or under trained normal dude defending his house, semi-auto is important, as is a low-recoiling weapon. the easier it is to put bullets where you need them the better.

it can be fun to focus on "firepower" but realistically most guns will work just fine, and anything that shoots more than once per reload and doesn't knock your shoulder off is probably fine for someone who wont practice.

Those were the days.

Seems like either the Navy or Air Force would have a new plane every single year. Now we're lucky if we see one for each branch a decade. And even the failures would have multiple hundreds of airframes produced.

I got my m1 when I was a lot younger from a local surplus store. I've seen PASGT helmets for as low as $80 on texas gun trader.... but you'd have to live in texas for that or get it shipped from the seller. I've got my issued one on my desk but that's it.

To be a good infantryman is a mix of common sense, physical fitness and an intimate understanding of the weapons and gear at his disposal as well as some luck, you're just a likely to be mowed down at the start of the war like anyone else

You can have the highest speed and lowest drag gear in the world but if its in the hands of a fool than its all for nothing
