The year is 1987,
You and several other /k/ommandos have been stationed at a research station in the cold waste land of Antarctica. One day, a discovery of a unknown other worldly organism was discovered in the ice, and was drilled out for further research.
6 hours later, there have been several casualties, as the unknown biological organism escaped it's frozen bed. It also appears such organism imitates the cells of other beings.
How will you and your /k/omrades survive and stop the organism before it reaches civilization?

whats the best edged weapon to fight a black-bear? i have a spear and a few swords and sword-chetes, whats the best thing to take hiking?
Imma say big big spear
I wouldn't want to be anywhere close to a bear while using a blade
>>33957792
Probably some form of winged spear or maybe a boar spear.
Swords won't be ideal as if the bear is that close to you you're definitely getting mauled to death.
>>33958029
this is the spear i have, although its not the most convenient thing to carry threw the forest
So I was playing BF4 recently with the XM25, and thought of how expensive and complicated it must be. Do you think such systems could be simplified to make them cheaper and such without them losing too much of its overall effectiveness.
For example, if the XM25 would fire ordinary grenades from a magazine, without any range-finding equipment and all that, could it work as a simple mag-fed grenade launcher?
Or the AN94? If the 2-round burst mechanic was removed, could it still work as a AK-redesign?
>>33957652
You're wanting to remove parts that are not a large amount of the bulk created by these designs. A two round burst system is fine, the XM25 is bulky because it's a fucking grenade launcher. If you want less just duck tape a stock onto a M203.

Why did that design fail anyway?
Does anyone remember the video (I think it was BCM themselves) on the original magnesium KMR rail where the guy hits the AR against a post and the KMR clearly gets bent but he makes no mention of it and keeps shooting? Has it been erased from the internet? Am I just imagining things?

One would think the owner of those guns would have gotten better at sprayjobs after a minimal of three attempts, but I guess not...

Happy Mother's Day /k/omrades!
I don't expect this thread to be booming in the next few hours what with lunch and all.
But I figured I'd ask and let it simmer for a bit; who here has a /k/ mom?
Who here had their mothers get them into guns?
What are you doing for your /k/ mom for Mother's Day?
My mom liked guns and really enjoyed that I had fun shooting and going to the range. Made one of the recipes she used to make last night, damn good pot roast.
My mom and grandma were so virulently anti gun that I didn't so much as fire a shotgun until I was 23.
Whenever I left the house with a gun my mom would just say "just don't shoot anyone"
I've been looking at a 40 cal Baby Eagle. Will this give me the spirit of Israel if I need to fight goyim?

Bought and sold the IWI steel one. It's shit. Tried to call IWI to get extra recoil springs and their phone just rings. Honestly they look like springs from a ball point pen. Bought a 1911 Sig TacOps

"Wonder 9's" happened.
I'm going to start a community "militia", with my family and some of my closest friends, all of whom live closeby, and I would like suggestions on top of my ideas.
Primary Objectives
-maintain law and order and assist law enforcement/national guard/first responders in any emergency
-be prepared at any time or place to render medical care or shelter to any person
-participate in charity events and public service are mandatory
-maintain safety for local business owners and residents in the event of civil unrest or any other emergency
-establish a close relationship with law enforcement officers and participate in community outreach programs
Secondary Objectives
-To apply lethal force under onpy the most dire and desperate of circumstances to protect the wellbeing of the community, in the defense of yourself and others
Requirements for joining the Nevada Free Peoples Armed Militia
-always be polite, professional, courteous, and presentable
-become EMT certified
-be in basic physical wellbeing
-be willing and able to assist your neighbors in any crisis situation
-be of good character and moral solitude
-have no bias to your fellow humanity based on race, gender, religion, political affiliation, or any other disposition that is considered unnatural by mainstream society
-have a surplus of water, food, tools, and materials
-own a semi automatic rifle, a sidearm, magazines, and ammunition for these weapons, and recieve professional training on how to employ such weapons
-own medical supplies, and have access to at least a basic medical kit at all times, and have the training to employ them to stabilize a patient in serious or critical condition
Forgive typos, on shitty phone
>>33957033
why are you trying to make everybody get an EMT-cert?
The training is unsuitable for combat. It costs about $1500. The class takes 6 months. it expires every two years. You're barking up the wrong tree.
t. emsfaggot
Fantastic idea. This needs to be a widespread thing. I would add
>have a skill or trade valuable to the community IE carpentry plumbing welding ect...
>attend monthly meetings/training
Is a 300blk lower exactly the same as a 5.56 lower? I found a BCM lower on grab a gun but it says it's both multi caliber AND 300blk. I always thought 300blk took regular lowers but now I'm unsure.
>>33957023
Yes a 300blk lower is thr exact same as a standard 556 lower.
The only difference is it may be marked 300blk and not 556
>>33957023
Lower will work.
The only difference is the barrel...and the bullet.

Which is the best hobbyist-tier .22 pistol? I'm planning on buying one soon.

I do have a colt huntsman, and adjustable sights would be nice.

The Ruger SR-22 is a winner in my book.
mark 4 unless you can swing a model 41. that was by far the nicest 22 pistol i have ever shot.
I rofl'd irl when i saw this picture.
