With automation on the rise. Would a robotics degree be marketable?
Only if you want to wrek shit
there's no such thing.
it's literally the technology equivalent of asking if a degree in punctuation would be marketable.

This is exactly why OS X is miles ahead of Windows, although autistically explained by that poster, it's the small things that add up to a far better experience for workflow overall.
Examples:
Font rendering
Settings panels
Window management
UI Design consistency
Counter-intuitive or inconsistent UI patterns (Not referring to UI but UX here)
Installing/Removing apps
Anyone that doesn't agree has either not using OSX or is deluded.

How can anyone unironically be against net neutrality?
The only possible way is if one's ignorant or has ulterior motives.

If this is the direction the free market is will to take, so be it. Trying to interfere with market forces is ultimately disastrous for consumers and corporations alike. If the internet as we know it goes to shit, something better will replace it. It's the way the world works.
So recently I received a job request to try to figure out vector design in order to: "copy the given artistic letters with geometrical background into vectors". A nice chance to quit this neet heck.
So I was wondering, which software do you recommend for this? I thought our school taught AutoCAD might work but there might be something better in regard.
Thanks in advance
>>58647795
From your description, it sounds like your client has no idea what vector graphics really. Are. Sounds like they latched onto the word as a buzzword, without any comprehension. So, you can fake it and bullshit them. A vector is whatever you tell them it is.
>>58648125
Still, with what may I bullshit them? What can I use to copy the .dat letter into vectors?
>>58648125
It sounds like YOU have no idea what vector graphics are, because the client's specification seems pretty clear to me.

Would a test deploy environment in Ubuntu running on a VM on Windows 10 count? It has Unity in it, so I guess it counts for something. I really just set it up so I could test that deploys work before actually deploying it.

I'm curious as to what the state of privacy and security is on iOS. I know that on the privacy side t can never be as good as Android, but i think iOS can be arguably more secure than Android by default (iMessage, encryption be default). How many on /g/ have played around with this stuff?
>inb4 proprietary
>inb4 much freedoms
>inb4 botnet
>on the privacy side
>not as good as the one written by the advertising company
Yeah, no
Apple is a shitty company, but damn they are strict about privacy. I think Apple is one of those companies that value privacy the most.

Apple's material design copy is a bit better.

>Material design is utter trash
No. It's the best design language currently available for any kind of device.
>Apple's material design copy is a bit better.
Apple's "design" is literally just some flat blobs with no consistency.
>skeuomorphic design is great, creative but sadly dead
Good. Skeumorphism is the biggest cancer ever introduced to computing. There is a difference between using a computer/phone/whatever and a real device, and interfaces should reflect that.
>Ubuntu suru is the only good design(origami idea is nice) that is currently alive
The icons look decent.
I'm interested. Is there more to it than icons? Maybe a whole design language like Material Design? It could make a nice interface indeed.
Reminder: Chrome was released in 2008.
In 9(!) years Mozilla has not managed to catch up to Chrome's most basic, most obvious superior GUI features.

Is there any advantage iOS has over Android?
I've used Android for years and recently used an iPhone for a week. The only advantage I could find was that web pages seemed to load slightly faster, but overall the browsing experience is gimped compared to Android (no fast scrolling, no native webm support, etc)
Not to mention closing out tabs seemed cumbersome compared to Androids 'clear all' option.
