Good. Skeumorphism is the biggest cancer ever introduced to computing. There is a difference between using a computer/phone/whatever and a real device, and interfaces should reflect that.

The thing about Material Design is, that well implemented it looks great.
It's consistent, you see which items group together, you can imagine what they do, etc.

Badly implemented Material Design on the other hand is absolute horrible.
You can hardly make out elements that should be separated, what they might do, how they react etc.
It literally looks like some shitty flat things thrown on the screen without a second thought.

Also, while it might not look like it, properly implementing Material Design is hard and unfortunately many devs simply don't care to do so.

i honestly think it looks shit everywhere I've ever seen it.
It *does* have a certain childish/cartoonish appeal to it if it's very well done, like I could see it being used on a gaming website or something like that.
But as a general gui language.. what can I say, it has always looked shit to me. Same with Metro.

Uwotm8? That's the dumbest thing I've heard in quite some time. Skeuomorphism was useful when touch interfaces were new and we needed a way to teach the end user how the interface works without beating the over the head with a manual or a tutorial. It's done it's duty, thank the gods it's done with.

Nothing is wrong with material design. It's just overused by people that have no sense of design or taste because it's "easy", the most upsetting thing is the tendency for people to use THE most jarring, ugly as fuck contrast in otherwise pretty nice designs.

Good news, anon! That's exactly what Microsoft is planning to do along with bringing totally-not-material-design animations to Metro.

Apple's "design" is literally just make everything flat and blur something so it doesn't look too boring.

I like material design and similar styles because it lets me focus on the content and not the interface.
