Is there any proof that Chrome spies on me as much as /g/ tells me it is?

Chrome is the most secure web browser but it still spies on you.
They spy on you but they don't care about you. It's about building AI to be human like and using your searches and interests they can make their AI better. YOU don't matter. Your searches do.

Shoo shoo pajeet, go find a loo.

BSD/MIT are acceptable licenses for smaller or less important projects.
Unfortunately with larger projects, the only good way to keep proprietary companies from "poisoning the well" is to use a copyleft license such as GPL.
GPL is literal cancer
I'm going to a "Fireside Chat" with Satya Nadella, CEO of Microsoft and Dan Gilbert in 3 hours. Q&A session at the end
What should I ask him?
ask him if he works for the cia
Ask for their opinion on current state of linux file picker
ask him where he likes to squat and release after a long day as a CEO of the world's largest software company.
>the installer puts a shortcut on your desktop without asking you
>he has this enabled

I've been lurking /g/ for a while and I saw the Thinkpad general and looked at the ktgee guides.
I found a X201 on ebay in Jul 2014 for $235 US (About $260 Canuck bucks at the time) and got a 128GB SSD for it (about $85 CAD at the time).
It has served me faithfully and runs Win10 fine, but I am looking to upgrade to a better laptop that has:
-8GB or more RAM
-i5/i7 Haswell or newer
-Great Battery life
I was looking into a new Dell XPS 15 ~$1900 CAD, but then saw that there were better laptops for batter life and also, 1900 is a bit crazy.
Logical increments/laptop guide is down atm, help /g/. What is the best value laptop with performance and battery life in mind?
Macbook Pro only costs 4 dollars a day
>paying over £800 for a laptop without its own OS made for it's hardware

find ddr4 skylake/kabylake laptop with integrated gpu no optics and 128/250gig ssd , than instal linux and feel the power
>literally have to pay $20 for an app to go above the 60hz refresh rate if you monitor supports higher than 60hz refresh
Why did Apple do this? Is it just me or is Apple is literally the Tesla of computers.
Holy fuck, Id love to see a macfag defend this.
>>58854179
Prove what? He's lying/uninformed
>>58854206
How am I lying? Try to get above 60hz on your Mac without using a $20 program. Go ahead, I'll wait.

Releases more stable and of better quality than every other big distro with their "releases".
Checkmate.
FreeVMS (VMS stands for "virtual memory system") is not just another Unix, is a real-time operating system with tight integration with the base system, DCL (DIGITAL Command Language), and also perfect for routers.
Developers are welcome!

Nifty, but... why? Is there a point to the project aside from nostalgia for the original VMS?
>>58853948
Some mission critical servers and minimal systems.
imho routers fit this criteria, but I mean high grade routers

Where was the "fake news" meme 16 years ago when the American public was fooled into thinking Saddam Hussein had WMDs and was responsible for 9/11?
>want to have a career in building great software and make good money
>wouldn't be able to sell non-free software in good conscience
How do I overcome this cognitive dissonance and stop being a freetard?
>>58853503
Sell services, make free software in your free time.
>>58853691
Or, alternatively, make your name developing quality software (free or otherwise), then get paid to work on free software full-time (Fedora, OpenBSD, Mozilla, The Tor Project, etc.).
>>58853691
You mean SaSS? https://www.gnu.org/philosophy/who-does-that-server-really-serve.html You might as well rape children every day.
>>58853503
You can still sell free software.

How do you think humanity will end if an ASI is acheived?
>>58853488
Hopefully. Emotions were an evolutionary mistake.
>>58853500
they werent.
Emotions are needed for the survival of a species.
A mother who doesnt love her child will abandon it.
A man who doesnt want to fuck will have no offspring.
A man who doesnt hate people from other tribes will not protect his own.
etc.
Almost all species have some kind of emotion, they are a huge part of what is keeping us and our tribe alive.
>>58853500
Clearly they weren't, idiot.
