Got an old Android 2.1 tablet that I need to set up as a security camera for a week. I basically just need a picture an hour being uploaded to Google Drive.
Are there any free apps that can do that? Browsing the play store atm but they only seem to do live stream.
I am actually an Android dev but I got like 30 mins time left which is not enough to code this from scratch.
>>58848906
I assume with 30 minutes left you are trying to set up a last minute security cam before you go on a trip?
You could try one of the free shitty apps and see if the settings let you turn down the settings so much that it basically only takes a picture and then turn on the auto-sync on the tablet with Drive so it syncs every hour or so
>>58848925
yea maybe an hour but let's say not rnough time to code, exactly
browsing the free shitty apps section right now, the android version is a real problem tho. Shitty 2011's apps lol
>>58848938
If the tablet is rooted you could try looking into just finding a way to write a script and quickly making a script that just tells the camera to take a pic every hour and then just have the auto-sync on Drive on
>Android Nougat
Holy fuck! It's like android took all the fun of Windows ME and crammed it on their operating system.
I wouldn't know because I have a Samsung Galaxy S7 and am still on Marshmallow.
Should have got an iPhone. Did I listen? No. TouchWiz. Yay.
Android has always been pretty shitty. It's only there because it has no proper competition that's just as "open".
>>58849712
Galaxy S7 here as well.
I was all like 'Yayyy, Nougat!' when I saw my device was part of the first sweep of upgrades. Then I actually saw Nougat.

Is there any way to trim an mp4 and save the resulting clip without re-rendering the video?
>>58848844
You could find some shitty software to do it since full studios like Vegas will re-render and edits
>>58848854
I've been searching and failing. I thought HandBrake could do it, but it doesn't seem like it.
I'm asking because I don't know what program can do this if possible.
>>58848844
mkvtoolnix. Mux to mkv and then split however you want. It can only split on keyframes for video though, so pray that whoever encoded it didn't use infinite keyint on a video without any scene changes.
good or not?

I can't even buy the titan XP from their fucking website so how do they expect me to buy it?

How can Intel Skylake-X even compete?
by not being Pajeet poorfag fucking asshole garbage shit
>>58848517
>>58848480
Zen will be another laughable AMD failure that's going to be called revolutionary by chumps on /g/. To be honest it's not all just doom and gloom. The fact that their low tier budget CPUs can oc means that they will compete directly with non-k i5s or force Intel to allow people to oc their hardware. Their ultra high end is also looking promising because I can't deny that Ryzen looks pretty dope when compared to broadwell-E. Exact clocks, same amount of cores and similar IPC while being more affordable than 6900k means it's a nice choice for people who do rendering.
However I don't think they stand a chance in the $200-$300 /v/ermin market where Skylake/Kaby will still reign supreme. Considering the fact that Kaby's 7600k and 7700k is a whole GHz faster out of the box than AMD's R5 while having higher IPC I don't see how exactly can they compete (Getting a 4c/8t Ryzen for $200 is too optimistic in my opinion). At least CPU's can be successful without pandering to the gaymen crowd (I think?).
i noticed mac laptops display much better on the same screens and also have better sound without any calibration
i was wondering how to imitate that shit on a pc. theres like a world of difference in terms of anti-aliasing and color in terms of picture
>>58848399
I noticed the opposite. I use a macbook at work with 2 external monitors. Everything on the macbook monitor itself is looks fine, but fonts always look slightly blurry on external monitors. Also, why the fuck do they make the macbook screen so glossy? It just reflects that much more light back at you. Pure retardation....
>>58848484
hhonestly i think its just that msi color is fucked beyond hell

May not be the right place for this but whatever.
I have an inspiron 15 7559 laptop, which has integrated graphics as well as a graphics card (GTX 960M).
My problem is that when my laptop isn't plugged in, games handle extremely poorly with a major fps decrease in games that shouldn't be lagging even with integrated graphics, such as The Binding of Isaac: Afterbirth or osu!
help anyone?
>>58848291
Just don't play games and do your homework.
>>58848291
Cant play games on battey because your gpu is underclocked when on battery.
Not your personal tech support but whatever, nvidia has an option to "boost" your battery life by locking it to 30fps. You can turn it off in the nvidia experience program.
GDDR6 vs HBM2
What's the consensus?
>>58848069
>GDDR6
High power draw, high latency, potentially as fast as HBM, still slower than HBM2.
>HBM2
Very fast, low power draw and low latency. Smaller memory controller. Requires a complex MCM and is more expensive to implement but allows for much tighter packaging.
Overall, HBM is the future and is just straight up better, but engineering difficulties will keep GDDR in use for a long time to come.
>>58848212
are there gpu processors that can deal with that much bandwidth from hbm2? wouldnt high latency be best if the processor cant handle huge bandwidth, since it will get the smaller amounts of data it can handle faster?
>>58849496
To answer your first question no
I've been on a linux machine for a long time and now I have a new build I want to put Windows on.
Whatever happened with Windows 10, I know there was a bit of controversy about how/what they track?
Should I just stick with Windows 7?
install windows server 2016. it's windows 10 without all the pleb shit

why is arm assembly so convoluted?
>>58847843
It's not.
It's pretty compact compared to x86 or Power.
>>58847843
Because it's designed to be generated by a compiler

Thanks, OP. Now I'll be spending the next few hours deleting embarrassing shit I said 9 years ago.
How did I not know this existed. thank OP
This has to be new, I was looking for a way to look at old comments recently.
