Hello I am a Debian Jessie user and avid web/game developer. I made my goal today to learn how to stream to twitch.tv and was wondering if anyone here has had any success. I see that OBS is on Debian sid but when i try upgrading to it my system brakes and I have to reformat my root and go back to Jessie. I don't see any way to get OBS on Jessie and am starting to lose hope. Do you /g/ents have any suggestions?

I just use raw ffmpeg (compiled from git because somehow the shit in the repos has issues) on my second screen. Invocation: https://pastebin.com/DTb3VpcU (Thanks 4chan for considering it spam when I try to post it here)

It's still broken on Firefox, but viewable on Chrome for some reason. God only knows why.

Very intimate size
If you go larger like 40-60inch you don't feel as absorbed in the show and the experience becomes more entertainment than escapism. If you watch on a small screen and really get sucked in it is a better experience imo

>My dad wants me to take him shopping for a laptop this weekend

What can I do to make sure he doesn't get screwed? Am I doomed to being his personal tech support guy forever? What should I have him install on it so he doesn't download something horrible?. I'm sure his old ass is gonna go straight for the porn, so I'm guessing I should install the usual Avast and Malwarebytes, or is there something better now?

How old is he? I got my father-in-law an iPad and it's been great. Very little support required. They even have classes for old people and iOS at the library, community center, etc.

He uses gmail, YouTube, skype, has it connected to his tv for watch movies.
>>
>>60093124

Not terribly old, like mid-60's, but pretty computer-illiterate (the comp currently sitting in his office used to run Windows 98, and it's connected to a dot-matrix printer).

He considered the iPad too, but he decided to go with a more traditional laptop instead. I'm guessing he'd rather have traditional typing functionality.

I have two nodes which cannot communicate with each other. One node is able to detect the presence of the other, but the other does not acknowledge the presence of the first.

Can I use some kind of shared resource to interface these?

Encode data into patterns created by the presence and absence of the other. Make sure to include enough redundancy.
