What the fuck happened with Star Wars Rebels? Compared to Clone Wars it is complete trash I mean early Clone Wars was kinda weak but even during Clone Wars lowest points it blows Rebels out of the fucking water. I gave Rebels to much chances since I thought it would end up getting better over time like Clone Wars but I was sorely mistaken. I thought since the season 1 finale was actually kinda good and we were gonna get to see Ashoka and Rex again would redeem the show. However what ended up happening was another season of boring filler until we got to the action packed interesting finale. I highly doubt Rebels will be able to redeem itself with the coming 4th season.

Tell me one good thing about Rebels has over clone wars go ahead tell me. Is it the reduced animation budget? Horrible writing? Useless side characters like Ezra,Sabine,Zeb ,and Chopper? How about completely wasting the renegade clone trooper idea? Or the epic final confrontation between Obi-Wan and Darth Maul was completely side tracked by Ezra and Choppers sand people adventure.
Ill even go as far as say the fucking Clone Wars movie is better than Rebels.

Just picked up the first issue this morning. I'm pretty surprised to see a new Runaways run. I just happened to be at my LCS and grabbed it. What do you think? Not super exciting, but its nice to seeGert backas well as Nico struggling with using up her spells.

As much as I like Gert I don't think resurrecting her is the right decision especially not spending a whole issue on it when it seems like she only has 6 to work with.
Based on her internet activity I'm afraid she's going to go balls deep on Social Justice rhetoric. Some writers can keep that separate from their work but not many. Yes the original comic did have elements. That's perfectly normal. If Ronald Drumf shows up in the background wanting to kill all supers, that's different than sheltered California kids have sheltered California kid attitudes.
I'm not keen on the art. Not that I hate Anka as much as others do but the colors are just not doing it for me.
Despite all this, I went from hugely pessimistic to slightly optimistic somehow.

Thanks for the reply anon. Doesn't look like anyone really cares on /co/ though. I have to agree about bringing Gert back all issue. I liked the gags with Nico's powers and the dialogue is pretty believable for Cali young adults. Guess we'll see where it's going.

Am I the only one who can't stand "woe-is-me" sympathetic bad guys? Seriously, what happened to bad guys or villains who do what they do because they are genuinely awful people who get superpowers or some other kind of opportunity to do whatever they want?
It's like there's an unwritten, mandatory law that says they absolutely need a sad backstory or "woe is me" motivation for what they do. Most of the time, it's something cliche, like "I robs bank to save the orphanage!," "I kill people and take their money because his puppy has cancer!" or "daddy hit me when I was a kid!" Villains are never allowed to do horrible things because they are greedy, mentally unstable, corrupt, weren't disciplined as children or are just sadistic, which is usually the case IRL.
I blame BTAS Mr Freeze and Spider-Man 3 Sandman for starting this trend. Sure, I can get behind good people forced to do bad things out of shitty circumstances, even better when they are saved. But not for every single bad guy ever. In fact, this is so overrated, it makes me WANT criminals, murderers, rapists, thieves, businessmen and officials to be two-dimensional: especially since that's how they usually are in real life! It actually makes me love people like Norman Osborn or General Zod- they do what they do because they're dicks, not because they need a hug.
Hell, maybe the heroes could HELP find a cure for Mr Freeze's wife or Clayface. Maybe the Avengers or whatever could lend money to the Sandman to get the operation for his daughter, or, shit, what if they paid him to join the Avengers and make him work by taking down bad guys?
Please, someone tell me I'm not alone.
