I'm afraid I have to agree with you, Anon. The mechanics on second generation mutants are anyone's guess, but the author clearly explained that first generation animal mutants had it express by pure random chance (and/or possibly personality type with unique trait blends).

I don't buy that siblings would express as the same species that easily. Even if the pool of animal species available for expression was only moderately broad.

The newer comics have had less focus on that. They're a bit cheesy, but Victor is actually allowed to have fun sometimes and has other conflicts besides his humanity or his daddy issues.

Capeshit writers are really bad at coming up with cool tech, which means that Cyborg is doomed to be the guy who gets his limbs ripped off to show that the bad guy means business, or he gets hacked to show how smart Batman is.

Genndy is the only credible dude in Western animation left so it depends on what he does next.

No better shows and films than jack have been trying for decades and it literally never works. Your adult show has to find a lucky niche (aeon flux for example) or be a comedy that manages to still capture people without being a family guy/Simpsons copy cat (ala Bobs Burgers)

Animation being elevated in status will come with a significant change in the zeitgeist and I don't see that happening anytime soon so long as outrage culture and newfag internet usage+digestion stays it's course.
