It used to work some years ago, but now with the influx of /tv/shitters it's gotten really bad. They don't actually want to learn more about the medium, they just want to pretend like they know what they're talking about while engaging in /v/-tier company wars. I don't have a problem with newbies that are not that up to speed with comics and want to learn more, but I really hate the smug shitters on here that spout secondhand opinions while acting all high and mighty.

/tv/ is far and away the worst board, probably because there is literally zero barrier to entry when it comes to guzzling down the latest filler networks spew out between commercials.
