Guys what do you think about power of subconscious mind?
I know that "The Secret" is lame crap, but does it really represend the way our life goes on.
Are our thoughts and the way we see things and the way we think that much powerfull so we are creating our own future with infinite potential?
I know that it doesnt work the way:
>Sit at home, do nothing, puffff Ferrari is yours right ahead cuz you imagined it
BUT
Does it really work? It seems to me that it does in much more way, when you just think about someone or you are speking about someone and dont think about it, he calls or shows up out of nowhere, it happend many times to all of us.
You had "whats the best movie" with some friend conversation? And after like 10days you turn on TV and there it is, first thing you saw.
Whats your expirience with it?
Do you have something good for reading?
Some nice explonation, evidence, practice /x/?

>do you think about power of subconscious mind?
That is the power of the mind itself. Its true power.
>>
>>17827028
Can you provide something that proves that?
Some book or video.... I guess that you researched abour that a little bit more.
>>
I've had experiences like this, If you want to hone your connection with your subconscious mind you need to interact with it more. You can meditate, lucid dream, listen to it and all that shit. If you learn to follow your guts, You life will get 20x more awesome.

Multiple Hidden Cities Found Near Angkor Wat

After scanning more than 734 square miles using lasers in what is being hailed as the most extensive airborne archaeological study ever undertaken, researchers have announced the discovery of several large, long-forgotten cities hidden beneath the forest floor. According to Australian archaeologist Dr Damian Evans, the cities date back up to 1,400 years and some of them were so large that they would have even rivalled the country's capital, Phnom Penh. The data suggests that these remarkable, densely populated cities would have made this the single largest empire on the planet at its peak during the 12th century.

"We have entire cities discovered beneath the forest that no one knew were there," said Evans.

The find not only cements the archaeological significance of Angkor Wat but also demonstrates how effective laser scanning technology has become at opening up the secrets of the past. "I have been to all the sites described and at a stroke, they spring into life … it is as if a bright light has been switched on to illuminate the previous dark veil that covered these great sites," said Charles Higham, a leading archaeologist of mainland south-east Asia. "Personally, it is wonderful to be alive as these new discoveries are being made. Emotionally, I am stunned. Intellectually, I am stimulated."

The Lost City of Cambodia

(Editor's Note: In honor of the discoveries around Angkor, I'm republishing an article that originally appeared in Issue 21. The full article is an amazing read, and I strongly suggest going and giving it a look.)

Phnom Kulen is only some 25 miles north of a metropolis that reached its zenith three centuries later—the greatest city of the Khmer Empire, and possibly the most glorious religious center in the history of mankind: Angkor, derived from the Sanskrit word nagara, or holy city, site of the famed temple Angkor Wat. But first there arose Phnom Kulen, the birthplace of the great Khmer civilization that dominated most of Southeast Asia from the 9th to the 15th centuries.

Nothing ignites an archaeologist’s imagination like the prospect of a lost city. In the late 19th century, French explorers and scholars, pursuing fragmentary clues about the existence of Phnom Kulen, hacked their way through the jungles of Southeast Asia. Inscriptions found on temple doors and walls made mention of a splendid hilltop capital called Mahendraparvata. A French archaeologist, Philippe Stern, trekked to the top of the Phnom Kulen plateau in 1936, and in five weeks of excavations he and his co-workers uncovered the ruins of 17 Hindu temples, fallen carved lintels, statues of the Hindu god Vishnu, and remnants of a great stone pyramid. Stern believed that he had located Mahendraparvata. But the temples of Angkor, built on a more accessible flat plain and visible on a larger scale, were more compelling to archaeologists, and the excavations at Phnom Kulen never advanced much beyond Stern’s initial dig. Then came decades of neglect and horror.

The sticky seems to be lacking pretty heavily in spooky novels. I enjoy ghost/demon novels the most.

So far this year I have read

>The Amityville Horror
Pretty good, would recommend it

>The Woman in Black
Pretty good as well, different from the movie though

>The Exorcist
Really enjoyed this one. Definitely a classic

>Hell House
This one was also really good. Kept me interested the entire time and was generally a very well told story

Any recommendations /x/? Looking for books that are really well-written too. Most of the horror I have read spooks me but isn't written very well. Is this just an unavoidable symptom of horror? Or does good writing exist that will also spook me?

Neil Gaiman's work. Especially Neverwhere, and American Gods. Sandman comics too if you like comics.

Speaking of comics, Garth Ennis' Preacher. Fuck, anything he's done really. He's someone who I always say can never top, or match what he's currently doing, and yet he always seems to manage to anyway.

New querents should reply to the post of a reader who's currently doing readings. An "air query" can be made to no one in particular, but no one in particular may answer you!
New readers should post that they're offering readings and what information they require from a querent.

What for you is most definitive piece of evidence that JFK was assassinated by an elaborate conspiracy or by Lee Harvey Oswald alone.
10 posts and 6 images submitted.
>>
I don't know about definitive, I tend to be a bit too much of a skeptic, but the piece of evidence that to me opens the largest amount of evidence comes from Curt Gentry's J. Edgar Hoover biography. (Gentry is the same guy who wrote Helter Skelter about Manson)

Anyway, he discusses how a few weeks prior to the assassination, Oswald visited a Dallas police office, and was rather threatening. I can't remember all the specifics, but he indicated he would perform some act of violence unless the tailing/following of him stopped, and even left behind a note.

The day of the assassination, Hoover very quickly decides that it was a lone assassin-long before he could have feasibly gathered the information to figure this out, so he was working toward a conclusion he already had in mind, not seeing where the evidence led him. In addition to this, he apparently called RFK, who described him as having a rather upbeat tone, considering the moment. (It's believed that JFK and RFK were working together to oust Hoover as director of the FBI; rather than doing it outright, they planned to just let his waiver to serve beyond the mandatory age of retirement lapse without renewing it.)

Anyway, spiraling back to the note: apparently it was destroyed very quickly thereafter, and the officer in charge was described as being a very by-the-book, upstanding sort of fellow; unless he had been ordered, according to Gentry, it's very, very unlikely he would have taken this action of his own accord. Purely circumstantial, but combined with Hoover's insistence it was a lone gunman, as well as later Congressional investigations deciding information had been withheld, and the (10, I believe) file cabinets that were Hoover's secret files he had his secretary destroy after his death, makes you wonder. Not just about JFK, but about how many other nasty secrets Hoover had lurking around.
>>
>>17826146
*largest amount of suspicion, not evidence, fucking typoes

About Hoover's secret files: I found it particularly interesting that he instituted a policy wherein he would be sent the only extant copy of sensitive materials and all others were to be destroyed. Incredibly suspicious. Gentry remarks that at least some of the contents of them can be put back together because some agents realized that the files were valuable and so tucked away their own private copies, starting their own mini secret files... just all sorts of bizarre, paranoid, neurotic behavior in the FBI back in the day.

Also, extensive lengths were gone to to prevent the files being obtained by the people who were searching for them. The biography recounts several people trying to find them and being lied to by FBI agents about their existence: "There are no secret files..." Then, later, "Well, that's not the term we used. If he had used to proper term, I would have told him."

That sort of pedantic wordplay certainly raises other questions about what they were so determined to hide that Hoover was involved in. Likely not all of it had to do with Hoover's homosexuality and possible crossdressing, unless he was a real kinky bastard.

Okay, I don't really know how to do this considering I'm an edgy /b/fag, the only other board I've ever posted on is /mu/ and it was only twice.

Anyways, I wanted to talk about some strange occurences that have been happening to me recently.

>Pic semi-related

I work at this shitty meat shop 7 hours a day, in the freezer. I have to make sure everything stays at the right temperature and none of the meat touches the walls, floors, etc. because my boss is too cheap to hire a fucking janitor. Regardless, I have one other guy working with me because it's a pretty big freezer.

Regardless, we do our job well, my co-worker in the freezer and I are pretty close friends, we've gone out for beers a couple times and he even invited me to a barbecue at his house once. While I was there, I noticed a bunch of weird decorations; his explanation was "treasures from his ancestors." His mom's side of his family is Native American, most of the stuff was weird masks, spearheads, the like.

Ever since then, I've begun to notice that he wears this weird necklace he always has on over his coveralls at work. It basically looks like a tiny mask. There's hinges on it but I've never seen him open it up

Since Monday, there have been increasing amounts of incidents regarding meat falling off hooks, being too expired to sell, etc.

The butcher thought we were just bad at our job, and even threatened to blame it on us to our boss if we kept fucking up. This set off my friend, and they got in a fist fight. My friend is pretty built, he has that sort of "no days off" attitude, but the butcher was a big guy. I'm just glad there weren't any of his tools nearby.

The next day, my friend didn't show up. Or the next day. Or the next. And then comes Saturday. On the weekends, we're just supposed to come in for a few hours and make sure everything is in order. He didn't come then, either, but the lights were on, which obviously freaked me out.

Continuing in another post, gotta type it all out though.

>OP again, let me continue.

So when I unlocked the front door and walked in, I immediately got chills, for several reasons. Of course, the aformentioned lights already being on was one. But every other door was open. Restroom, storage, even the freezer doors. And that made it unbelievably cold. I put my jacket back on and walked through the freezer. Every single piece of meat (Save for one, I'll talk about thag in a sec) was off the hook, laying in heaps on the dirty floor. There were flies everywhere, and it smelled like shit. Ironically, the one piece still on the hook was the most rotted. In what I think was the chest cavity was my friend's mask necklace. I reluctantly yanked the thing from the meat and opened it up. It was a shrunked head. The rubbery skin and stringy hair felt too real for it to be some novelty item. I left immediately, and when my boss called this morning, I told him I was sick and couldn't come in. He told me about all the rotting meat and how my friend hadn't come in either. A couple hours ago, my friend's wife called and asked if I knew where he was, saying how he hadn't been home in days.

I don't know what to do, I'm freaking out right now. I still have the shrunken head necklace. I don't plan on goin to work tomorrow.

Moonbeams..... tried Googling this. But nothing on the net describes what I saw. One night over 15 years ago, me and a friend were walking in a field. Full moon, probably around 1 or 2 in the morning. Tree line of wooded area lit up. Probably 30' circle lit up like a spot light from a helicopter. But the light was coming from the moon. Looked crazy, but I started walking towards it. Friend of mine said he would go nere it. So then I got the fear. Always have regretted no going closer.

I can't explain what I have felt recently.

I felt as if I had skipped six years of my life and only just recently waking up in 2016. There are expired food packages that are dated 2010 in my home. Notes and belongings I had placed around the house dating 2010. I have photos and data stored on this computer dating from 2009-2011. I feel as though for six years I had been out of my body; as if I had been in a walking coma for this long.

I had snapped out of it in the middle of my last employment. I suddenly felt awake again and aware of my surroundings and all my memories had rushed back to me like a floodgate had opened. I immediately put my two weeks notice in to my boss to everyone's surprise because I was told that I had been a valuable and hard-working employee and happy.

Something happened in 2010 or 2011 for me that had me lost my sense of time and place. During these years I recall taking hard drugs. Perhaps it has messed with the chemistry in my brain relating to time and long-term memory. For six years I cannot recall a single thing, event or otherwise.

It is scaring me and has given me anxiety. Six years ago I had a neighbor couple that would walk their dog every afternoon and I would strike conversation with them every time. Now I had found out the husband had died of cancer and their dog of old age. I only see the widow smoking her sad cigarette on her porch every once in a while. I have this eerie feeling I can't shake off that time has just lapsed on me. My body has deteriorated also and I have aches and pains and wrinkles I am unfamiliar. Time for me has lapsed and I will not let it slip again this year. I think I'm going insane.

Have any pictures or proof? Drugs could plausibly mess your shit up, but it would be unusual that you would have no recollection of it. Usually alcoholics and hardcore junkies, etc., know what has happened to them. Also, usually people who have serious bad trips, like on mushrooms, LSD, etc., wind up getting committed; they're not able to function. Go on more about the drug usage you remember getting into?

Otherwise, it's also possible you were just being a normal American, who goes through life somewhat like an automaton, watches TV 6 hours a day, etc.; and then something happened that made you basically smarter and realize how ignorantly you'd been behaving. I wouldn't expect this to be your explanation unless you came from a very uneducated/ignorant background -- could that be it?
>>
>>17824967
Yes I felt like my body was on autopilot but my mind is not engaged. Maybe I am just going through life?

I have had a car accident in 2010 and I had saved my emergency room wristband to remind myself. I also bought new books in 2010 and I have them just on the shelf there with the receipt still inside.

I did feel suddenly a burst of high IQ. Seemingly out of nowhere and I have now a heightened sense of sensory perception and brain function. As if a "fog" had been lifted from my mind. Hence my quitting of (mind you a really great job) for I think I am smarter than that.

I can't put into words the feeling that time has lapsed and I cannot recall the six years in between. What astonishes me is there are no traces of the in-between years. No photos, documents, nothing. I would listen to 2010 songs and it would bring back memories from that year but nothing past. Maybe I need help

when people talk about the illuminati I think it’s just representative of like this shared desire for control that we all have, I believe the illuminati are less an actual entity and more a psychological archetype, like we subconsciously all want to believe that some shadow government rules the world and has all of the cards laid out in front of them, and that somewhere SOMEONE is in control when in reality the opposite is true, we're just a bunch of insects running here to there, of course there are kabals of government with shared ideologies and motives but there is no one master of everything, we're all just trying to survive and project the feeling of security and serenity when in reality we're all oblivious and afraid

Tonight, at about 2:50 am, I'm planning on going alone to a locally famous haunted staircase (in a graveyard), and trying to communicate with the ghosts people say are there.
I'm bringing a candle for them to manipulate, a ball to push around, and a flashlight. Any ideas on how to start up a conversation? Should I talk casually, or like they're a spook? Am I bringing the wrong kind of things? Am I a faggot? Advice would be appreciated.
And yes, I am salting my doorstep.

Be accepting and respectful. From my experience ghosts only act out if they feel feared or disrespected. My apartment was haunted but it was a pleasant experience until I upset the ghost. I actually miss the playful haunting and it feels empty now that the ghost is gone
