I don't know what dog men or face eaters are, but here's my only spoopy story.
>Be 7 years old
>Parents out for the night
>Grandma is baby sitting
>I stay in my parents queen size bed watching TV
>Look away from TV and see something
>Its a very tall, pitch black, lanky figure
>I looked at in the exact moment it walks by the doorway and out of view
>It turned it's head to look at me for the few seconds it was visible
>It had no face, no features, just black void
>Immediately hop out of bed to see where it went
>Nothing
>Tell grandma
>She seems mostly unphased

Yea, that's it. Saw a giant walking shadow. It was all really quick too. Maybe 2-4 seconds in length. I didn't feel immense horror when I saw it like most people describe when witnessing the paranormal, I was just like "wat da fuk is dat?"

Hey /x/
So Witches and Wiccans
Regardless of their supposed connection to divine powers and shit, they brewed potions that had a multitude of effects--health, love, etc... Are any of these old recipes published/viewable online? Have you made any before?

this is a good one, I once tried it and it worked wonders for a friend. This spell is not to force love but instead to find true love.

Previous thread was deleted for some reason. I'm going to try to post it again and be more clear about it to avoid post deletion. I'm going to assume good faith on the part of the janitors, and further assume that the post was deleted due to the fact that it was improperly formatted and thus had the appearance of a shitpost. I genuinely want to discuss this topic.

There are a number of images and tropes contained within the film that I believe directly point to us, as well as the phenomenon of meme magic, a manifestation of noetics and a force that I genuinely believe exists.

Observe the following examples from the film, which is over 4 years old at this point.

Also, feel free to discuss other aspects of the film and its relation to current political and spiritual events.

I always found this album underrated in terms of spoopiness. Geogaddi is the obvious choice, but there's something unsettling about the acoustic sounds and samples on this one... like they're trying too hard to sounds cheerful and start sounding insane.

I saw this weird movie one time compiled of home footage of these kids playing at a summer camp. It turned out that the guy who made the film was obsessed with the camp and his childhood there - and ended up drowning there in a fatal accident when he was older. This kind of reminds me of that.

I thought this music video was pretty interesting too - one time when I was younger this strange man started following me in the subway. I never confronted him and he never confronted me, but he definitely followed me for a few stops and then got off at the same one as me. Never saw him after that.

I live in Cheraw in Chesterfield county. The old St Davids church still has blood on the pews from when it was used as a field hospital during the revolutionary war. A buncha little odd happenings in that church. It's quite lovely and you can visit at night for maximum spoopiness.

Does anyone here believe in the Anunnaki or that we have a primordial otherworldly ancestor who is responsible for our seemingly inexplicable spurt of intelligence over all other creatures on earth? There is apparently a significant gap in the evolution of early primates that led to us.

Do you think we could have been visited and genetically modified by them? It would explain all of the depictions of different Gods who come from the sky in virtually every culture, egyptian hieroglyphs of advanced space vessels, etc.

possible, yes. Not probable, though, and there really is no evidence to suggest we had any sort of ET influence. The idea of this comes from the "translations" of sumerian tablets by a guy named Sitchin, who took a LOT of creative liberty, adding entire passages not found in the originals, and using modern words in inappropriate context to the what the story was really saying. (The story, by the way, is the one that Moses plagiarized to write Genesis.) It's like if someone re-wrote the Harry Potter books, replacing "magic" with "alien technology" and a paragraph saying the magic words are actually the alien language verbal commands.

Please, watch less of the "history" channel and take what people spout as "truth" here with a grain of sand. The subject is interesting enough as-is to study on without having to add a sci-fi twist/reboot to the mix. Here, have a look at a more accurate translation, it's quite a read.

2001: A Space Odyssey. Stanley Kubrick directed this movie rather artistically from the book. I would recommend reading the book first to make sense of the movie, otherwise the film might come across as too abstract and slow-paced.

The basic premise is that somewhere in the universe, sentient life arose, similar to man. These beings evolved and eventually progressed to immortality and traveling the cosmos, searching for other life. They created large black monoliths which advance the progress and intelligence of lifeforms across the universe.

In the story, there are three monoliths, one in Africa (anciently responsible for the dawn of man, through artificially increasing his intelligence), one on the moon (TMA-1; when dug up on the moon, it sends a radio transmission directly to Jupiter), and then there is a giant monolith in orbit around Jupiter, through which an astronaut (David Bowman) gets transported through the cosmos and turned into a super-intelligent "star-child".

You want atmosphere!!!

The PUSHER TRILOGY!!!

I recommend watching it drunk and high out of your mind for first viewings.

FEELS like Goodfellas meets Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas when it comes to atmosphere. These are the rawest movies Ive ever seen! Each movie revolves around a drug dealer in the worst week of his life and all their lives are interconnected. First movie is about a mid level drug dealer Frank owing big to Milo who is a high level dealer and star of the 3rd movie. Second movie is about Franks best friend Tonny (Mads Mikkelsen) 8 years later when he gets out of prison.

Were Mads Mikkelsen got his start.

I think we should have a horror fiction general. Since /lit/ doesn't take to kindly to genre fiction, /x/ would seem to be the best place to discuss it. This for actually published stuff, not creepypasta.

>Pic related is the only rec chart on the /lit/ wiki
Someone should make a new one for /x/.

Clive Barker's Books of Blood is a good read, especially if you want to get into writing some pretty dark shit. It does a pretty good job making a lot of suspense out of some pretty cliché stories, but none of them are really that spooky.

Books of Blood are probably Clive Barker's best work. Surprised they haven't made an omnibus edition with all 6 (They just split it in half).
