I've downloaded a bunch of guided meditation audio files and they are all problematic to one degree or another.
-The guide talks too much
-The guide asks you questions, which you instinctually answer and break your concentration
-The guide has a harsh voice
-The guide tries to put you to sleep, which is the last thing you should do.
So, can anyone recommend a good audio file or iPhone app that gently coaxes you down without yapping endlessly in your ear and breaking your focus?
jon kabat zinn had some good ones iirc, anyway you're probably gonna have to lower your standards to some extent
I've been using Stop, Breathe and Think. Pretty good. I have noticed an occasional question, but the guides voice is very soft and gives you time to sit quietly.

Why do you say that about lowering my standards?

Hey /x/, what are your thoughts on remote viewing?
Do you have a specific way in mind?
>>17831344
I was looking into taking courses for remote viewing, the same type of training that military/CIA do for their people.
>>17831338
I think it's real but takes a lot of training and effort to be any good. There is enough evidence that it's real.
Avoid anything Ed Dames says as he's full of shit. His course might be okay, but I never really did watch/try the whole thing.
Look for " Remote Viewing The Gold Standard" or stuff by Paul Smith, Hal Puthoff or Russell Targ.
Also here is the official SRI manual

What if...
Petroleum [ https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Petroleum ] is really the Blood of the planet?
The Gaia Hypotesis [ https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gaia_hypothesis ] formulated by the chemist James Lovelock and co-developed by the microbiologist Lynn Margulis in the 1970s; states that the Earth is a self-regulating complex system involving the biosphere, the atmosphere, the hydrospheres and the pedosphere, tightly coupled as an evolving system. The hypothesis contends that this system as a whole, called Gaia, seeks a physical and chemical environment optimal for contemporary life.
This description is parallel with the way our own bodies combine different systems and organs to regulate a whole, and sustain our own life.
What if petroleum is the blood of the Earth?
It even looks really similar to blood.
>pic related
Why lie about it? Profit is an ovbious answer.
Why keep suppressing other energy sources? Why bleed out the planet?
I want to get this subject out there, because I've never seen it discussed on /x/.
Trolls and shills are welcome too.
>>17831154
Heh.
>pedosphere
>>17831154
You've been playing too much Final Fantasy anon.
Any animal can make more blood to survive a wound.
How is oil blood if it can't regenerate it?
What have you got planned for summer solstice /x/?

Nothing. Any suggestions?
And a full moon this is gonna be good.

Did anything happen in 1967?
Hey /x/
I want to know the single creepiest thing that ever happened to you. No bullshit, no formulaic greentexts, just you explaining the creepiest event in your entire life.
>go duck hunting with dad
>really thick marsh
>get to spot and set up decoys and such
>90 minutes before we can start shooting
>dad takes a nap
>can't sleep
>close eyes in vain effort to get rest
>20 minutes later, a loud splash next to the boat makes me shit myself
>spring up and turn on headlamp
>can't see anything except my shadow on the water
>turn off lamp
>dad asked wtf
>say an otter or something spooked me
>later that day
>at home after the hunt
>drinking coffee and waking up more
>think about the splash
>recall how I turned on my lamp and saw my shadow
>wait
>my headlamp is in front of me
>i shouldn't have casted a shadow
>that means something big was in the water
>or something I couldn't see was in front of me
>quietly shit myself again
all i got

Two things, I guess:
Once I was in a bar and a fight broke out. One of the guys got kicked out and a few minutes later the bouncer came running through the bar and leaped over the counter screaming "gun, gun, gun." We all got holed up in the backroom without being able to see out into the bar. At the time, I thought the guy was in the bar itself stomping around with his gun, but it turned out he never re-entered. Eventually the cops came and caught him running down a side street.
Another time I was at a house party and a fight broke out and some of the guys got kicked out. A girlfriend of one of the guys called the house and warned us that he was coming back and that he had a gun. Almost everyone took off immediately. I didn't know the guy who was throwing the party, but I felt bad that his friends just abandoned him like that so I stuck behind along with about ten or so people. We all got melee weapons (no one had a gun) - I had a maglite flashlight. At some point a car pullled up and three guys got out and started pulling on pantyhose over their heads as they walked towards us. I didn't see a gun...they ended up saying they wanted a one on one fight, but that walk towards us was one of the creepiest things I've ever experienced.
>back when I was 13 or 14, got sent to a summer camp with my cousin who was a year older
>this was back in russia, where summer camps tend to be a lot more hands on than in some other countries
>one of the main activities in the camp was being dropped off in the middle of nowhere for 48 hours with nothing but a liter of water, 3 matches, 100g of dry macaroni, and a plastic tarp
>you're expected to basically build your own small shelter and fend for yourself for 2 days at which point they come and pick you up
>my cousin's and I drop off point is right on the edge of a lake / marshy area, with very thick woods
>closest human being to us is maybe 25-30 miles away
>first day goes pretty well, we gather berries and mushrooms, get a fire going, and set up a little tent with the plastic tarp
>when night time comes we're just sitting around tending the fire and shooting the shit
before I go on to the actual spooky part of the story, let me explain a bit of background. We were basically sitting on a log next to the fire facing the shore, which was 60 or 70 feet away through a bunch of trees and branches and whatnot. The part of the shore we were closest too was a marsh that was around 5-6 feet deep and covered in weeds.
anyways,
>see a flash of light that looks eerily similar to a flashlight in the distance
>looks like it's coming out of the water onto the shore
>turn to my cousin to say something and he's frozen staring in the direction of the light as well
>the light starts bobbing in our direction at a steady rate exactly as if someone was walking towards us with it pointed slightly towards the ground
>I yell out "who's there" in the direction of the light, it freezes and then turns off maybe 30-40 feet away from us
>we sit there scared shitless in silence for what seems like forever, listening as hard as we can for anything
>for some reason the forest is completely quiet, no summer sounds of bugs/birds/etc. anymore
to be cont.
What is /x/'s opinion on bluefluke's field manual? Is any of the stuff inside actually accurate? Or is it just a bunch of edgy tumblr garbage?

One of my favorite occult book without the snob ceremonial stuff. Nice book. Totally chaos.
I'm going down to Myrtle Beach on a road trip with a couple of friends. I'll be passing down North Carolina and South Carolina and was wondering if /x/ knew of any spooks down there?
I'm in NC. Castle Hayne to be exact, outside of Wilmington. Multiple people here have been seeing what appears to be a sasquatch lately. I definitely heard some fucked up shit, sounded like a little girl crying and kept scratching my house and shaking the walls. People have also seen big dog things that appear to be werewolves. I've encounter faes as well. Lots of spooky stuff around here. There's a dark aura around the whole place.
>>17825554
Most things worth a visit are in the mountains
There's the devil's tramping grounds though I've never been so can't help there
There's a spoopy castle in the woods on unc campus
But why the fuck are you going to myrtle beach in the first place
I forget where but some where in Sc i think its around columbia there are train tracks that have a mysterious swinging light on them and its said to be a ghost of a guy that was holding a light on the train fell off and got decapitated wayyy back in the day. My friends went there a few years ago and he was on the phone with us as he was seeing it.
What would it take to convince you that we actually went to the moon?
A photo that wasn't just some cgi fake.
Just one single photo. Why can't moonlanders do that?
>>17816474
how can you tell a real photo from a cgi fake photo?
>>17816484
Well obviously we didn't go to the moon, so NASA photos are fake.
Dumbass.
Childhood horrors thread.
I had a fear that if I left my bedroom door open at night, Dracula would come into my room and kill me.
Not just any vampire, Dracula specifically, cape and widows peak included.
I also was convinced that my large wall mirror was actually Optimus Prime, despite having only ever watched one episode of Transformers, and knowing nothing about it.
I knew Optimus would spring to life and protect me from Dracula, if he ever showed up, but I still ALWAYS closed my door.
Also, I tried to build rockets out of household garbage, and put roaches in them, as tiny astronauts, but that's unrelated.
I thought that a warewolf would chase me after I off the school bus and the only safe place was my house so every day when I got off the bus I entered sanic speed mode and sprinted home
I was terrified of the front of the bathtub where the drain is because that's where Pennywise is.
Fathers Ghost in the Attic. for real.
Hey guys! Im new here, I want to tell you about a problem that I have since 3 or maybe 2 years ago, At the nigth i used to heard that somebody has been using my computer, for example I heard that someone is pushing the keyboard... I live with my father in a little city, and he dont use the computer at nigth, how i know? Because I woke up a few nigths to see who the fuck was the person or thing that press the keys, and what I find? yes, Nothing... I use to think that that it could be my cat, But no. I never have seen to my cat at the computer haha... well I used to think that i was crazy so, I didn`t pay atention to this any more... BUT... a couple of friends has said me "hey, alex! I went to your house this evening, and you didnt open the door, please try not to be obvious, I can heard you using the computer." And like you can see it suprised me. So, I ask them the hour that they went to my house, and it was at different times, like 3 pm, 8 pm, 10 am... etc. I never have been at my house these times. another friend told me... "I went to see across your window to try to find if it was you, but when I look, nobody was at home" And... last sunday. a friend has come to sleep because i was so sick and, he told me "I couldnt sleep, someone has been using the keyboard at the computer all the nigth, and I heard that someone was
breathing at the door of the kitchen too" I couldnt believe this!!! and he continue: "when you moved asleep, the sounds stopped, but when you fell in sleep again, they start again..." how you can see at this time of the match, I need to know if someone can help me with this... sorry, if my English is not good, my mother tongue is spanish. what the fuck is happening? PD: the computer is never turned on at that time.
Leave your computer on at night with text edit open, you twit.

Also, you're a beautiful and lovely person, Alex and I hope your paranormal experience brings you much happiness in life, you little twit.
Ayyy lmao
Hey /x/ I feel like I'm able to move my energy throughout my body to different parts of it, but I can't project it. What is it that I'm doing and can I learn to project it?
It's called "chi." It is literally your awareness of awareness itself.
Another term for it, that is more applicable to the western philosophy of a clockwork universe is "life energy." Life energy is most easily projected through other life forms, since life forms are simply resonators of life energy. To explain life energy in technical terms requires some mathematics, so lemme' know if you want do the whole skeptic thing and see my research or whatever. It is the compression ratio of data, if you approach physics with the understanding that energy and information are synonymous. Or just take it for face value that even a child knows what life energy is, or else they wouldn't be alive to be skeptical about it.
>>17837067
You can learn to project it, if you find someone else who is learning to project it, learn to project it through each other.
You probably got a mental illness bro get it checked out!
My grandfather visited me yesterday and told me that recently he'd woken up in his partner's house and out of the corner of his eye he saw something and it quickly ran away to hide somewhere before he could react and when he looked around the room there was nothing there. He described it as looking like it was made of hairy pipes. He asked his partner if she's ever seen anything similar in her bedroom and she described the same thing happening to her. Do any of you know what this is? Had any similar experiences? His partner's house is in Garforth, Leeds, England if it's related to any local legends or myths.
Sounds like a shadow entity.
Delusions, paranoia, and hallucinations due to changes in the brain from Alzheimer's. Enjoy grandpa while he's still grandpa, kid. And not some crazy old man rambling on about bedroom monsters 24/7
>>17836972
My grandfather is at risk of Alzheimer's by both his genetics and his age although his partner saw the exact same thing though and she's 47 so it's unlikely anything such as Alzheimer's is a factor.
