So I know that most or many reports of any cryptids are lies or imagination. but i refuse to believe that all of those reports are. There are just to many of those reports to all of them being wrong and i would wonder how many discoveries we would make if we really would be more openminded and investigate those stuff any further.
So in which ones do you believe and why?
im sceptical since i never encountered one, but i believe mothman would be one that i believe in, simply because there were so many reports of it mixed with other perculiar incidents witnesses reported about. big foot and the yeti could be a real one as well for the same reason.
so what are your favorite and realistic cryptids?

Not sure if this belongs in x but couldn't think of a better place to put it. So I was thinking and I had the thought that all of our existing technology had the POTENTIAL to exist at any time in the hundreds of thousands of years that humans have existed, and we just didn't know about it. So, if a time traveler were to travel back to the time of the ancient Romans or something and gave them the knowledge of and materials to create and continue creating things like nuclear reactors and other modern technologies, how would the world be different today? What does /x/ think?

Tired of all the bullshit occult threads dominating /x/. Here's something that still bothers me

Hey, posting this as a creepy story, and also an inquiry for some information. I've had three experiences of knocks in the middle of the night in my life that I've written off as unexplainable, until recently.
I browse /x/ on a regular basis, but never felt compelled to post anything until I stumbled across a typical "unexplainable experiences" thread a month or so ago. In said thread someone posted an incident very similar to mine, where in the dead of night they heard three loud, distinct knocks on their third story window. I was very interested because an anon replied "Do you live in Florida?" And after the original poster confirmed he did, the anon basically just said, yeah that makes sense, like it's a perfectly normal occurance here. I asked if he had any more information, but got no response, and eventually the thread 404'd.
I basically forgot about it until a couple weeks ago when browsing the paranormal board on Reddit, (I know, but let's be honest, this board sucks sometimes) there was a post about a guy from Florida who kept getting woken up by three knocks on his window. So now I definitely believe there is something to this, and would like more information from anyone who knows why this paranormal occurrence is such a common thing in Florida.

Alright, first story.
I was twelve, making my little brother nine. We shared a room as my family has always been relatively broke, and I have quite a few siblings. The room was on the second floor. We had two twin sized beds, his being directly against the far wall under the window, and mine on the other side of the room. We had school in the morning, and it was about midnight, so I turned the T.V. off, and rolled over to try and sleep.
About five minutes go by, and out of nowhere we hear five fast, very urgent ,fast-paced knocks. My brother freaks the hell out, naturally, and I try to calm him down, saying it was probably just a bird or something. I knew it wasn't, as there was no ledge on the outside, and while we did have bamboo trees surrounding the back patio, they were a good 15 feet from our window.
So he calms down a bit, and just as we're drifting off we hear three very loud, very intentional bangs on the window. He runs to my parents room, and I shine the mag-light I had in my drawer outside and all around the property, and of course nothing is there.
My brother slept in the hallway for a couple nights too afraid to sleep in the room, but I switched our beds so I was on the window side, and no knocking in that house happened afterwards.
Don't get me wrong, that house was hella haunted and a bunch of other shit happened, but that's unrelated.
Next story on my lunch break.

Let's get a childhood scary story thread started
>be me 10 at the time
>neighbors are going in trip for about a week
>ask me to water their lawn and tomatoes for money every other day
>say yes and water the next day
>first day I walk in and fill up the watering can and water the tomatoes
>glance at sliding glass door but the blinds are all blocking the glass
>glance away and water the lawn and go home
>2 days later I come back and notice that the cement is wet in the back yard
>that is weird because it was the middle of July and was really hot in the afternoon (it was around 6 at the time)
>glance at the sliding glass door and notice one of the blinds is crooked as if someone pelled it to the side to look out the window
>weirded out and try to water tomatoes but the hose wouldn't spray out any water
>walk to the otherside of the house and find another water spricket without hose
>start filling up watering can and I glance at a window and in the darkness I saw a face
>I picked up the can and dumped the water onto the tomatoes and ran
>didn't tell neighbors or mom
