I've also been attempting to astral project, I was only able to once, I am pretty certain this happened. But I messed up and it ended fast. So the method I used to escape was to roll over and just roll out of my body. It worked and I just kind of floated to the ground, then I was just in my room. I did a handstand and fell over on top of my body and it ended. well it cut to me in bed, having sleep paralysis. I never experienced it before so it felt scary and I didn't know what to do. I tempted to tear out of my body again with the rope above head method but I got too scared, just waited it out until I woke up. It was quite a night, pretty sure I lucid dreamt in the same night. I need to actively start training to try and separate from body when I wake up. I have read books about astral projection and I am really curious, I want to find out if all these claims I saw are true

God, this sounds like Tesla's anti-gravity device. If you find the right current it supposedly works, but you have a a centrifuge filled with mercury sandwiched between bismuth and copper. You put the current through the copper and it goes through the mercury layer, bounces off the bismuth layer back down and releases anti-gravity. Cools stuff, and one of the many files the FBI took upon his death (all long before WII).

I'm kind of in the same boat.
Only, in my situation, the movies that are recommended to me tend to follow a very typical play of events... and they also tend to rely heavily on, you know, jump scares and shit.

I'm hoping to find something truly scary or unnerving, or at least something that has a steady buildup and good atmosphere that doesn't rely on sudden loud noises.
