i had a similar issue with one of those routers (back then it was still called thomson instead of technicolor) where i would always get dropped from counter strike after joining a server and playing after a couple of minutes.
the router didnt crash, neither did the pc, the router intrusion detection (even though it was off) seem to have gone berserke and prevented my computer from ever communicating with the router (or any other inbound or outbound device) again. this, also didnt happen always, but about 75% of the times it did.
only fix was a firmware update, iirc (this was maybe in 2009 or 2010). and after bugging the isp to provide the firmware (branded router needed for iptv) they just replaced the router with a newer model, instead of patching the "old" one. if yours isnt part of a iptv pack, visit the technicolor website, or send them an email, (last time i did they were very quick and helpful) about newer firmware (if you cant find it on the website)

Thank you for your response.
My router is branded/property of ISP, so I can't flash new firmware.
Unfortunately the servie at my ISP is incredibly bad, I'm talking weeks of response times and terribly unqualified support hotlines.

If there is anything I can do myself, I am willing to try it. Otherwise, I guess I'll have to wait and get fucked.

If anyone has another idea on how to fix this on my end, it would be greatly appreciated.

Are you sure the games are using your gpu, not the integrated gpu in the processor? Added to that, did you plug the hdmi/displayport into the graphics card, not the motherboard?
