I had some pretty good times. Cross-gen evos had me hyped during pre-release. I bred a shit-ton because of the box/nature glitch. And HGSS was a well-deserved closing chapter for johtofags like me.

I don't get why people like Crobat so much. It looks ugly to me. I think it's the fact that it flipped color schemes and the way its teeth look.
Zubat is meh too but at least Golbat got somewhere. Golbat's mouth was exaggeratedly huge but it had a nice structure otherwise.
Pic related is my candidate. I like how it looks like a Bionicle or some cosmic horror, but Binacle looks awful since the face just looks so alien to the franchise.

A few things to share with some of you guys.
--There are a grand total of 18 Z-Stones--one for each type. However, you need to defeat the respective Totem Pokémon in order to win it.
--There are only 4 Totem Pokémon per main island. Solgaleo and Lunala, however, are both version-exclusive Psychic-type representatives in which defeating or capturing them will award you with the Psychic Z-Stone.
--However, there are two secret islands that will house two remaining hidden Z-Stones. Both secret Totem Pokémon happen to be Legendary Pokémon.
--The big building on the artificial island is the Champions League. You can face all of the regional champions you have fought and defeated there in a tournament setting (such as Red, Blue, Lance, Steven, Wallace, Cynthia, etc.).
--The castle behind it, however, is where you can face the four Kahunas as an Alolan Elite 4. Defeating them again earns you the right to face the Champion of Champions.
--Mashadow is Psychic/Dragon. And he is one of the Secret Totem Pokémon.
--Lugia and Ho-Oh are both in the game, but neither one are Totem Pokémon. nor do they have new forms.
--Mega Dragonite is Dragon/Dark.
--Mega Zubat is Ground/Flying.
--Team Skull do end up summoning Solgaleo or Lunala, but unintentionally.
--The final island, surprisingly enough, do not have any trial captains and it is up to the player to figure out your trials for yourself. The only resident on the island is the Kahuna himself.
--Your final objective in the main story is to defeat or capture Solgaleo or Lunala, rather than to challenge the Elite 4. The Alolan "Pokémon League" simply allows you to rematch the 4 Kahunas at their full strength.
--Z-Moves, when used, can trigger transformations on certain Pokémon--mainly the Starters as well as Rockruff's evolution. This is also how you summon Ash-Greninja in the game.
--Zygarde is the ultimate catalyst behind the Z-Stones as well as these strange phenomenon.

So when they announced Sun and Moon they've made a pretty big deal out of them being the 20th annivesary games. "It all comes together" etc, trailer showing all games, protagonists, past champions etc
Well actual Sun and Moon campaign so far is anything but the annivesary. Dont get me wrong they do a great job with showing all the new stuff and the new world and Pokemon are very exciting. Overall it seems like an amazing new generation. But where's the celebration? "All comes together"?
So far the only things i can see being related to the past are
>Alola forms for Kanto mons (only?). I guess that kind of a throwback in new way
>Zygarde and its forms in the games
>Gen 6 features are back like amie and customization
Not only those are only gen 1 and 6 things but also they're all new so thats hardly a throwback per se
Not to mention its clear we have to beat all 4 islands to become the island challenge champion (according to the site) so the only possible post game (for now) is the artificial island and even that might be some sort of league equivalent
I hope GF will reveal something cool about the annivesary and/or the post game pretty soon because so far it looks good for the main game but very worrying for post game again
