That's because SMT is still using the same sprites they have been using since 20 years ago, allowing them to put all the effort into environments, with pokemon it's pretty much the opposite, they put all the effort into the 3D models and left everything else being lackluster.
That being said, I still think the transition to 3D models was completely unnecessary, I would have rather stayed with sprites, there's literally nothing wrong with them.

Okay, so here's what we need to do, come up with duo-style names for future Pokemon gens. Ones that would actually work and be cool, (No Pokemon Salt & Pokemon Pepper Huhuhuhu).

Come up with a duo that can incorporate a third for a trilogy like Ruby, Sapphire and Emerald or Red, Blue and Yellow.
> Extra Bonus Mode
Pretend it's 15 years after your named titles have come out and you have to make remake names for them like FireRed, LeafGreen, Heart Gold, Soul Silver, Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire.

Girafarig isn't present in Alola because it couldn't adapt so it moved away.
Before you all replies to me, I don't know the Alola dex I'm just assuming Girafarig won't be there.
