Yes, all Grass type starter final forms are based on prehistoric creatures. The owl it's based on was land-based, which explains why it loses the Flying type.

the only way to get a cosmog is to beat the game and catch the legendary of that game. if you have solgaleo, go to the altar of the sunne at night. if you have lunala, go to the altar of the moone at day. go through the portal then go to the lake of the moone/sunne, a cosmog will appear. be careful though, thing doesn't stay in the goddamn bag.
