They're going to ruin it by focussing on couch/family gimmicks, aren't they?
My prediction: new battle facility where you play minigames during a battle, only available in tabletop mode, and during the main story the second player will be able to help the first with overpowered abilities etc. VGC will include a method that allows a bystander to use a special move/form/ability/idek that the main player can't control, and it's done mainly as a gimmick and to make Showdown! harder to use.
