No, most GOOD rpg maker games are ported out into a custom engine. Because you need coding skills to make anything worth a damn unless its a shitpost game.

RPG maker is also very limited, trust me I am working with it as a base and a way to scale the art but mostly just to organize stuff at this point as I am picking up coding and it would be much easier to use my own engine.

Let It Die is free and worth a try
It's clunky in controls but atmospheric

The new Everybody's Golf comes out at the end of next month.

Arguably so. It's got 60fps and the most up to date graphics but has the least amount of songs and most of the game is locked behind grinding and rng, unlike the other entries. In terms of difficulty it's behind Future Tone and edit mode in F/F2nd.
I'd say try the demo of it along with Future Tone Prelude and see which one you like more. The Future Tone bundle is on sale too I think.

Maybe, not really? It's got a silly story mode in it for some reason. I'd prefer just to play freely and unlock shit by playing like all the games before it but at least you unlock the hard difficulties right away after finishing the story, I guess it balances out

can't think of any of them but the genesis as relevant really

they each had a few interesting things, but that's about it

I've got a Japanese Saturn and an American Dreamcast. Saturn had some excellent ports of arcade fighters and shmups. The pinacle of 2D sprite work in console history, prior to the 3D push.

Dreamcast has some really fun games as well. Powerstone, Soul Calibur, and Jet Set Radio. There was such a funky, weird, boombastic vibe to that era that was so wonderfully captured by the games on Dreamcast.
