It's an incredibly comfortable game to play, from the beautiful dithered art to what is one of the best soundtracks in gaming it's just a joy to play through.
It being an older VN, it's almost more accurate to describe it as an point-and-click adventure game, since that's what you'll be doing most of the time.
The amount of things to click on and unique dialogue you'll get is astounding, and the characters always feel real. The protagonist is a nice goof too, always having plenty of banter or jokes directed at you.
The story is definitely mystery, genre-wise. I don't want to spoil that much about it since the less you know about it the more you'll enjoy it, but it's about a highschool kid whose father went missing and one day he receives a package from his dad.
Expect a story that just keeps growing and growing and growing and then eventually manages to tie it all back together too!

The best thing about all of this? The objectively best version of this game is the english translation that was released in 2011.

Like I said, the best way to play this game is by going in blind, just experiencing it. Then after you've done say 2 routes and feel like you're having trouble getting to the other endings you should consult the guide.

Venom Snake looks great, sadly a lot of arm and outfit combinations completely ruin his look.

Stuff like the Tiger Stripe with his standard arm look great on him and you can tell it's something that came out of concept art.

The level design renders their existence a completely moot extra achievement thing, but retards somehow think doing these is the main point of the game.
