Why haven't you played the best VN ever yet?
>>387731948
Sell me on it op
>>387732037
It's an incredibly comfortable game to play, from the beautiful dithered art to what is one of the best soundtracks in gaming it's just a joy to play through.
It being an older VN, it's almost more accurate to describe it as an point-and-click adventure game, since that's what you'll be doing most of the time.
The amount of things to click on and unique dialogue you'll get is astounding, and the characters always feel real. The protagonist is a nice goof too, always having plenty of banter or jokes directed at you.
The story is definitely mystery, genre-wise. I don't want to spoil that much about it since the less you know about it the more you'll enjoy it, but it's about a highschool kid whose father went missing and one day he receives a package from his dad.
Expect a story that just keeps growing and growing and growing and then eventually manages to tie it all back together too!
The best thing about all of this? The objectively best version of this game is the english translation that was released in 2011.

Like I said, the best way to play this game is by going in blind, just experiencing it. Then after you've done say 2 routes and feel like you're having trouble getting to the other endings you should consult the guide.

Hi I am Yuno. Hi am from Japan.Your site is cute. Many many cute photo. I am in your site for many many time, but I no understando all. What you talk? What is your favorite discussion you say please? Sorry for my question. Bye bye America.
Yuno
>>387733153
Now that's a cute Yuno
>>387731948
Because I want to play it in Japanese but I'm no nowhere near the point where I can enjoy it without looking up every other word so I'm putting it on hold for now.
But I have.
>>387733482
Do what I do anon, just play it in english first and then play it in japanese in a couple years.
The languages are so far removed that it will be a new experience anyway.
I tried playing the remake but all the kanji was making it go so slowly.
I did, Eriko > all other waifs.
How the fuck did Kanna not graduate highschool in 40 fucking years?
>>387733674
I was considering doing that but I think it'd be better if I spent the time just studying instead
Can I play this on a Saturn in English?
>>387733752
Hnnnnngggg, Eriko makes my heart skip a beat every time I see her. A shame her epilogue look isn't that great, it just looks a bit odd...Considering you can see vaginal blood after her capture in the bad end, was she pure?
>>387733976
You can look at it this way, if you absolutely love this VN, you will probably be more motivated to read it in its original language. That's what happened with me.
>>387733997
No english Saturn release, sorry. You can play it in English on windows however.
>>387732878
>>387733080
Sounds pretty nice. How long does it take to complete the game roughly? Or a route if there's multiple.
>>387734297
>was she pure?
Probably. As pure as you can be when you give someone a handjob, anyway.
It's interesting that she's the only one you can't really fuck, in the entire game.
kanna is best girl
>>387734297Literally only has unconsummated love for her scientist husbando, only willing to give Takuya a handy for that reason
>>387734297
>You can look at it this way, if you absolutely love this VN, you will probably be more motivated to read it in its original language
Yeah I guess that's true. I'll give it a go then. This isn't a VN that has routes/scenes that rely on one time shock value right?
I have. it is pretty high up there on the list of things I would like to selectively forget and experience all over again.
>>387734432
Isn't that scene from the Saturn port anyway? Meaning that in the original pc-98 version you can't do ANYTHING with her.
That would explain why it's such a big deal for her to strip when you solve her puzzles.
>>387734451
I love Eriko. What a great woman.
>>387734398
This is how long it took me to 100% finish the game. I have heard it took other anons between 40 and 60 hours though. There's a completely playthrough (with all the dialogue) on youtube that's about 80 hours.
>>387734619
Nope! In fact, it's encouraged that you play through them again after a certain point!
>>387734934
Cool, I'll give it a go then, thanks anon.
I'll play it when it can run on my phone.
>>387731948
because 'where the fuck do i click?' and 'how many times do i have to click on this spot?'
From someone who loved it and obsessed with it as you do with things that you've finished and really liked - the one thing YU-NO really excells at is the atmosphere of the 90s. Portrayed both in its narrative and through means that the authors really had no control over, like the dated launcher and the UI.
"Dated" here, being used in a positive way, obviously. If you go to full screen YOU WILL be transported into a time that games aren't really in anymore. If I had to give a game that gives me a similar feeling when playing, it would be Uplink.
YU-NO also has a pretty unique take on saving the game, but going into that is a tl;dr. There are probably better overall VNs out there, especially nip only ones, but I really recommend checking it out.
But I have. I still listen to the OST from time to time too, so nostalgic even though it's only been a few years.
>>387735173
Why do you bother with games like this if you're a casual?
Did the remake tone down the incest?
It was a bit too much for my conservative tastes.
>>387734934
Speaking of that wallpaper, do we see it at any point in the game?I've always thought it was a view of the capital city.
>>387735173
It does have a couple of those screens unfortunately. But as soon as you know what to do it will never be a problem again.
>>387735523
It toned down all the sexual content, so my guess is yes.Tasteless fag.
>>387735523
Considering it removed all the sex scenes, I'd assume so.
>>387734934
That's pretty lengthy. Despite the age it does sound quite interesting though. I'll give it a go once I'm done with what I'm currently playing. Thanks anon.
>>387735640
>>387735634
Wow really? I was only joking - I thought the relationship between father/daughter was critical to the entire plot and the game would be neutered without it.
I didn't expect them to actually do something like that.
What was the point of remaking it?
>>387735017
>>387735676
Enjoy anons! This is probably one of the games I would recommend everyone at least try.

I want to say to expose a new audience to this classic, after all it was 20 years old.
With there now being manga/anime releases upcoming as well I'm starting to doubt their intentions though...
>>387735798
To sell it on PS4 I guess.
>>387731948
I played it and it didn't impress me that much, desu. I thought Eve Burst Error was much better.
>>387736835
Really? Mind elaborating why?
>>387733617
Is this any good?
>>387738432
From a game design perspective, it's an average VN.
Production values are pretty high though. Must-play if you like Evangelion.
>>387739594
If I'm just looking for a comfy romance, will this be a good choice?
>>387740024
Yes.
>>387740216
Sweet, downloading now. Thanks anon!
>>387731948
I don't think I've ever played a VN.
>>387741897
Then this is a good time to start
So if i wanted to actually play this, how would i?
>>387742057
More like a good place to stop. You don't start VNs on fucking Yu-No.
>>387742370
Just get the game at erogedownload, get the patch from here and start playing!

You're going to install the original PC jap version first, then the translation patch, then the voices. Never heard about the pc98 ost, so it's optional, I'd imagine.
>>387742764
I have no clue either, but apparently it's the original FM versions made by the composer himself. Not sure how it differs from what was originally released.
I gotta ask, how much of the eroticism can I avoid? I'd prefer an actual story, not that garbage
>>387744317
There's not many eroscenes in the game, most of them you'll find at the end of a route.
>>387731948
I still have bunch of CAN backlog I'll never finish
>>387744317
The porn in this is pretty bad but it's generally limited to the end of a route. It's like 1% of the content or less. And you can just hold CTRL through it.
It's actually the one example of the erotica taking away from the game. And it's not even a "ooh, games can't have titties" it's that the some of them are so contrived and drag on and are so poorly written that you can't help but eyeroll. But hey. It's tits, I'm not complaining.
>>387731948
I'm fine with just fapping to the OVA
>>387731948
>best VN ever
Anon...
>>387734696
>I love Eriko. What a great woman.
What is it about her personality so great?
Is this available on that site full of 90s Japanese eroge that's posted here from time to time? I can never find the link.
>>387735239
What made you love and obsess with YU-NO?
>>387745025
Nice bait
Who was your favorite woman in yu-no and why?
is there an english translation or are you just wasting our time?

Good thing there are more than two posters on this board then.
>>387746174
Those posters could be conscientious and check the archive first.
