They apparently took out all the actiony gameplay and stripping mechanics and turned it into a boring, bog-standard basic jRPG which failed to appeal to a wider audience and spurned the audience it did have. I don't think you quite understand how big Minecraft is. It's the second best selling game of all time after fucking Tetris. There's books, a movie in the works, toys, lego, clothes, etc, etc.

It's all kids these days play. Even the ones that don't play games. Thousands of streamers and YouTube channels, fan sites, forums, it's endless. It's an unstoppable force and it'll damn sure be remembered for a long time to come.

I wouldn't even care, but it's stopping kids from playing more (for lack of a better word) "focused" or "skill driven" games. I put my 12 year old nephew in front of other games over Easter and he couldn't play a single one of them for shit.
