Will any modern horror or indie horror movie surpass this? It Comes at Night was ok but the concept for this monster is still utterly horrifying.
Forget get the metaphors if that triggers you for whatever reason. The concept of something always walking toward you scares the fuck out of me. You can pass it along but 10 years from now you could look to you left and see something again walking slowly toward you, sending your life back into chaos.
Oh and the OST shits on most horror movies too. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mrqS96JxWVA

The movie is great but from what I recall /tv/ seems to be very split on this film for whatever reason. I really liked it, particularly the setting and music.
When I was young I used to think what would scare me the most and I always thought of an old lady that was always following me but would never run. She would just slowly pace toward me and try to kill me and seeing that finally in a film was pretty scary.

>>le retro 80s vaporwave essential nightcore
The OST for this movie and general vibe is already showing some major influence in films and games. Stranger Things obviously borrows from this movies atmosphere, setting and sound. Death Stranding is using the same sound as well. Shits good and people like it.

Wick or Jackie Chan
It's close call.

Jacky Chan only wins when guns aren't involved. John Wick couldn't protect his own dog.
Was he a pedophile?

The movie says she has an ADULT's PHYSIQUE but a children's brain, so he's not.

>1,286 days until Avatar 2
Alright, listen here. From the day it was announced that the release of Avatar 2 was pushed from Dec 2018 to Dec 2020 I knew that Cameron would include Terminators in his new sci-fi universe. No, probably not the entire backstory with Skynet and John Connor and all that, but just the Terminator. Just the machine. Remember that T2 future war opening scene? We will get that on Pandora, except it's gonna be humans and Terminators against everything Pandora fights back with.
Why did the release date change make me think that? Because...
Franchise creator James Cameron — who has stayed on the sidelines since directing the first two classic films — is the beneficiary of changes in copyright law. Basically North American rights to the franchise revert back to him in 2019. That is because the copyright reversion now takes place after 35 years, and The Terminator was made in 1984.
http://www.slashfilm.com/james-cameron-regains-terminator-rights-in-2019/
But then why 2020 instead of just 2019? Because with that huge addition Cameron will have to rewrite tons of stuff to properly introduce them in the Avatar universe and to properly utilize them in scenes. With that addition you can write some new kickass action scenes.
"But wait!" you say. "That's still really farfetched."
Yes, it is. But that's not all...

So, after this movie, is it safe to say that the Dark Universe is all wrapped up?
>>83808599
The movie is doing crazy money in China. No, Dark Universe isn't going anywhere.
With Cruise, who's still one of the last real "movie stars" that draws money from name recognition alone in an era where the star vehicle marketing tactic has long been dying, obviously this will make bank regardless of how lacking in effort and interest from the cast and director it is (and as someone who just saw it less than an hour ago, it is very much so).
I can't really say the same for the rest they have lined up though. Crowe, Depp and Jolie aren't especially relevant in this day and age, and if the quality of films is consistent with what's been established with Mummy, audiences are going to eventually catch a hint in addition to not being drawn in by the cast, regardless of how much Universal push the marketing.
It's nuts that they were able to make King Kong successful in 2017 but not The Mummy.
Name a movie

Idris Elba
Are there any actors who you first hated and then changed your mind about them?
Pic related for me. I always used to hate him whatever he was in, but now I see him in tv shows and I like his characters and his acting. Pretty cool guy to me.
>>83808564
Thomas Jane, didn't like his Punisher movie but in retrospect he was one of the few good things about it, and really enjoyed his character in the Expanse.
>>83808564
I liked him in Fringe.
First his voice was kinda weird to me but i got used to it.
>>83808564
Steve Buscemi. I guess I saw him in con air when I was little and he freaked me out. I held a grudge for a while, but revisited him as an adult and I really enjoy him.
/ourguy/
Why does /tv/ need a black bull to do things for it?
Even though he's an elitist nigger I can't help but like him
