Hey guys I'm looking for some advice. I started playing DnD 5e recently (I've only played Dngeon World before) and I was curious what all these extra rules actually add. I mean, in Dungeon World, if I want to grapple a dragon, I just need to roll +Str and get a 10+. In DnD it looks like all these complicated rules and I am curious what they actually add to the experience and drive the fiction (important part) forward.
Also why does DnD still use d20? It's very swingy compared to the 2d6 that Duneon World uses that produces a nicer bell curve.

When the truth was revealed, and Takino's plans had unravelled, he admitted defeat and he accepted the consequences of it.
You can respect that, if nothing else.

“The final man has yet to regain consciousness,” Ra allows himself a small shrug, “I can't get answers from a comatose man. Between their testimonies, and Gahima's confession, we've got more than enough to pin Takino to the wall. It will be much harder to link him with the Ascetic, but I hardly think that matters now – one attempt on the Emperor's life is more than enough to seal his fate.”
“Yes, well, we'll take what we can get,” another sip of wine passes Sho's lips, and another frown creases his brow, “I don't wish to appear ungrateful, Ira, but I'm to have a lot of work to do soon, so if you had any business with me...”
Do it now, you finish for him. What kind of work, you ask on a whim, does he have to do?

What do you think about....your enemies? About the Ascetic, about the Seer, and about Takino? They were definitely wrong, but it's important to put down what you took away from the conflicts that were started and the causes they called others to.Because Sho will have to deal with Kala in his own way, indirectly and probably in terms of how he rules rather than ever talking to her.

Previously on Tundra civ:
The Second World War has ended - the Spirelords were destroyed along with their Spaceship thanks to the heroic sacrifice of General Malhus. Many millions of people died in the war and many cities were destroyed. After sending expeditionary forces to asisst the revived NPU government, the last remnants of the automaton forces have been defeated and the world is once more at peace.
It's now the summer of 1200 After the Exile, for the last year our efforts have been put into rebuilding the ruined cities and restoring our pre-war economic status. Great progress has been made towards that goal so far.

Tell me about the settings you'd like to see made into jumps. Even if you think it wouldn't be possible to make a jump from. Personally I'd like to see The Darkness (Game), How to train you'r dragon and possible some of the Simon Pegg and Nick Frost films. Big Hero 6 might also be an interesting jump to have too.
