Between the vampire edgelord and the vampire bitch, I hope Arlinn gets to join the Jacetice League so I can see more weremilf. Like, hell, she doesn't always have to be a transform card, as long as she gets more time in the limelight, I'm fine.

Shit, I mean rock bitch
So what was Sauron's endgame exactly?
Have his orcs eat everything and then turn on each other?
I mean he seemed out to do "evil" but the motivation escapes me. He's bad, he knows magic and makes jewellery, and he inexplicably has mass hordes of murderous followers. What's the game plan here?
And did he have any followers that weren't just mindless orcs or trolls? And lieutenants with brains, things to hope for and ambitions for when he won?
To kill God.

>Why do you like to worldbuild?
>How pages of lore/backstory do you have?
>What's a trivial, random fact about your world?
>What's something you need feedback on? Or, maybe you need an expert's opinion on a random subject?

>Please, no random arguments/shitposting about non-/wbg/ subjects, other posts from people who needed help/feedback were getting drowned out by them.
So, I'm writing down themes so I can have a focus on my worldbuilding.
>Man's virtues and vices are powerful things
Basically, I want the stories to be about the character's/characters' beliefs and character. I want stories where no matter what happened, they're sticking by their principles till bitter end.
Because, honestly, I see that in history a lot. To me, history is made by those who pursue their ideals or their own survival. A lot of the time, it's both.
Also, one's vices and virtues influence themselves and their lives a lot. It's who we are. I'd like to explore that.
>People's desires/dreams and what they'd do to achieve them
Sort of ties into the previous.
>evil spirits and worse forever await their chance to enter our world
I like the idea of forces unknown always ready and eager to pounce through whatever gateway they can find from their world to our world. Is spoopy.
>The disparity between classes and groups of people and its effects.
blue-blood(nobility) v red-blood(commoners), mundane v magi, north v south, us v them.
I want to write about how groups, either political, racial or societal, interact with each other. THis can span from hate and mistrust, to cooperation and understanding, and even swing from one to the other.
>there are strange and magical things in the world; especially the further you get from civilization. Some of it can be good/benevolent/wondrous, some of it can be bad/dangerous/malicious and shades between both.
Think of that one movie you watched as a kid. The one that made your jaw drop and your vision narrow; until your whole world was nothing but the surreal and beautiful world that you peeked at through that television screen. For me, it was Princess Mononoke. I remember being so enthralled by the mystery of that world, and I want that surreal, wonderful yet dangerous and unknown world to come through with my work.
It's a sort of fairy tale-like mid-fantasy world. Think in vein of The Witcher, Conan, Warhammer Fantasy

>What kind of aliums are they?
I know that some of the races arent nothing new, but I'm still looking for ways to tweak them. The most advanced in this regard are
>The insects. They form an extremely powerful psychic hivemind. They believe all the inteligent species form part of their hive and work to achive peace and harmony among them. They tend to be diplomats, empaths and healers.
Then we have
>The uplifted bears, wolves and felines. They have been uplifted by the megacorps as a weapon. Humanity and the colective freed them and now they are the newest kids on the block. They are the "extra help that is beside the point" from previous posts.
>The blue humanoids with powerful psychic habilities (yeah, I know). Their ships and cities are moved and goberned by "Champions": Extremely powerful psionic entities whose bodies have been massively modified. The rest of their tech isn't that advanced. The champions form a kind of theocracy where the champions are revered as gods, and every one can become a champion if they prove they are worthy.
>The robotic octopuses and the amoebas.
>The octopuses have lots of sensors and tools and are the technological/scientific race. They enjoy findig out how everything works. The were originaly created by the amoebas to serve them, but now they are both equal.
>The amoebas are a bucket of slime. They have no limbs, no senses, and they aren' even solid. They depend completely in their psychic powers to move and interact with the world the octopuses still aid them and build some of their stuff. Also, amoebas have almost total control over the matter that enters their bodies, they can absorb any kind of organic matter and build some tools if you throwthem the materials.

I need help naming my street gangs!
>a group of krokodil addicts living in the underground tunnels of Seattle, their flesh is cracked, peeling, decayed, etc.
>a group of Raiders with a fondness for dragging their victims behind their cars/trucks
>a group of car enthusiasts, basically. Street racers with a particular fondness for the import scene
>a band of baseball bat-wielding looters, with many of the members being former Seattle Mariners members. Think Baseball Furies without the face paint.
Adeptus Astartes
>Extremely honed, genetically modified warriors
>Possess inhumanly advanced reflexes, strength, metabolism and intelligence
>Minds able to withstand horrors and abstract things that would drive normal men to insanity
>Can comprehend situations far more thoroughly than any human being (save maybe a member of the Mechanicus)
>Still chooses to fight using the most headstrong and blunt tactics
>Often behaves extremely irrationally
>Muh Honor
Someone please fucking explain to me.
>>47838465
They are spec ops, not line soldiers, extremely blunt and head on tactics are a forte by definition.
And some things are surprisingly more effective and viable when you had a chance to practice with them for half a century. In the quantity makes quality sense.
As to behaving irrationally, as per Deathwatch, it's how mounting psychological damage manifests itself in marines. Fear and corruption still get to them, just not in ways humans are used to see.
>>47838465
They are terryfying and almost impervious to most attacks in the fluff. They deep strike through the roof screaming about fureh and empprah wearing blood red armour and swinging revving chainswords to scare the shit out of ppl who see them, as the mythical angels of death that they are should.
Also, they are spec ops AND knights in spess, the latter actually being more important for their behaviour.
And if this still doesn't suit you, then maybe a setting with kilometers long starships that have cannons loaded with fucking chains by hundreds of whipped slaves is not for you.
Shinobi Quest #17
This quest takes place within the lands of the Five Great Shinobi Nations (aka Narutoverse) starting roughly around the beginning of the original series. The world of this quest remains similar to the original, with slight but notable differences in certain areas, based upon the passage of time from a single slightly altered event.
(It’s a goddamn Naruto Quest, you bastards. Have fun, participate, and write in when you feel inclined. Most of the outcomes of this quest will be determined by you, the players. Critiques and questions are always welcome, as my knowledge of the weeby shit is not all encompassing.)

Last thread, Tsuki Norihime and her team began the process of taking out the bandits plaguing Reisui Village and the Land of Hot Springs at large. After a somewhat embarrassing first showing in combat, Tsuki reaffirmed to herself her commitment to be shinobi. The teams split up, and began systematically dismantling the bandit hideout. Guy-sensei was left behind to guard the entrance from any returning patrols, and the remainder headed in. Halfway through the complex, the team split up to handle two groups of enemies, with Sasuke, Nori, Hinata, Sakura, and a Tsuki clone armed with a kunai launcher headed towards the larger group, and Itachi-sensei, Lee, and Tsuki herself heading towards the smaller group of three enemies- ones that had chakra signatures.
Itachi’s fears were confirmed when the small group reached the lowest layers of the hideout- Samurai. By using a diversion tactic with Lee, Tsuki and Itachi were able to take out the samurai with a student-teacher double Great Fireball Technique. Proceeding inside the last room, they found both Reisui’s captured mayor, and the leader of the bandits- a horned samurai in blue-tinted armor, wielding two chakra-infused katana....
Itachi pushes through the double doors, into a large room- filled with bunks, crates, and food, with a desk on the far end, covered in maps. A man sits at the desk, with similar armor as the others- although his armor has a horned helmet, and a fine blue sheen you recognize from somewhere…
You also see the mayor, bound and gagged, over to one side.
The man stands up, donning his helmet, and draws two blades, which immediately flicker awake with chakra.
“So, they finally sent someone after me? Near-sighted fools! Very well then, intruders, have at thee!”
You have no idea what he’s talking about.
However, as this is happening, a familiar sensation pricks the back your mind.
The feeling of your clone’s chakra returning….

Who gives a fuck?
What would you guys consider a 'good' or at least a serviceable 'End Times' scenario for Warhammer 40 000? And while I'm at it, if such a scenario was to be used by a Game Master in a 40k RPG game would it be 'too much'? I've been toying with a 14th Black Crusade (one that actually doesn't suck and keep the status quo) as the setting for one or more 40k one-shots, possibly more high-power games.
Pic only vaguely related but I imagine Angron would lead the charge on something.

It still amazes me how big the baths are in this castle, and how much they look like something out of a lazy day's dream, or a hopeful piece of art. I mean, I still don't get the reason for having them be this large, besides of course the obvious being able to share them with plenty of people. Though I don't think I've ever seen more than two people use it at once. Which is kind of funny, since the millers seem like they're plenty more loving then most. Even if a few of them are a bit..blood thirsty.
I sigh, and lay my head back against one of the towels folded on the stone bench carved out right next to the pool sized bath. I never really got a chance to get a good look at this thing without it hiding behind steam before. It really is nice looking but...it feels off without the steam gently choking out my thoughts and easing my burning heart and...other more private parts.
I sigh, wrapping around my wings around myself as I start to get a little needy and antsy again. Going to have to find something to do before I tear my hair out from boredom.
Well, I'm sure I can find something fun to do, not like I'm stuck being short anymore, hell I think I came out pretty well, despite everything.
*Thunk*
And arrow slams into the wall behind me, my heart starts to beat as fast as it felt like it was a second ago. I turn and see Vera standing in the door way, grinning widely as her tail whips around behind her.
"Waiting for someone?" She asks teasingly, as she calmly walks up next to me and rips the arrow out of the wall, glancing down at me with a very cat like smirk "Look like you're planning a good time with that on"
"I'm relaxing" I mummer, blushing as I pull one of the towns over myself, and wince as I feel it drags down my skin like tiny little shards of glass all ground up.
cont
>>47896475
"In that?" she asks, tilting her head as she points her arrow at me, idly chewing on the feather on its end "You have a pretty funny idea of relaxing, Demony, so what are you doing in here anyways"
"Relaxing, I just told you" I say calmly, looking up at her as I flap my wings a bit, making the towel balloon out "also having a little bit of trouble remembering where I left my dress"
"Too lazy to get dressed, then?" She asks, stepping back, making me feel like a mouse with how she's watching me.
"No!" I huff, crossing all four of my arms "there isn't anything wrong with letting my skin breath a little is there"
"Well I mean, with your body I think you're keeping all of the help from cleaning this place up" She says, playfully elbowing my gut as I bite my tongue and turn a little redder as the colors of my skin shift again "it's getting damn right filthy"
"You sure that isn't just your room?" I ask, making her giggle and grin again "And I can ask you much of the same, why are you here anyways, If you want to take a bath I could"
"Bah, hate the smell of soap" She hisses, scrunching up her nose, as her constant, heady aroma of Sweat, blood and dirt washes over me "Besides the rain is much funner to clean up in"
"Did you think I was your brother then?" I ask, feeling a bit confused as she taps her chin and shakes her head
"No, you've got much louder feet than he does" She says shrugging "Besides, I pinned him to a wall just now so...yeah I should be in a few pieces pretty soon"
"Sounds fun" I say dully "Still haven't told me why you're here"
"Oh, just want a little talk" she says, flicking her arrow around "About the things you can and cannot drag home, or leave around my little sister"
"Oh I just remembered where I left my dress, can you tell me" I say quickly as I try to get out of the room
and I nearly run into Vera, as she's suddenly blocking the doorway
cont
>>47896497
"Hey, hey not mad" She says, leaning against the frame "just worried is all, trust me demony, if I was mad you'd know, I'd be much scarier than mizuki ever could be....maybe"
She tilts her head and sighs
"Yeah I'll never be that scary actually" She says, grabbing me by my ear as she drags me back towards the bath "But who cares, all we got to worry about is tellin ya somethings, right?"
I frown as she pats me on my head and raises up a finger.
"First off" She begins, trying to sound as stern as she can manage without laughing.

Alright, what do I need to bring with me on a trip to go find my aunts. Spare blood of course, in case I can't find any myself, and I can't risk trying mali's, heaven knows what it'd do to. Still shouldn't be hard to find some, could borrow a few weeks ...no they'd go rancid without anyway to keep them cold. I scratch my chin with the fingers at the end of my wing as I sit down on my bed.
I suppose Mali could just bring that jenny girl along, she looks healthy enough for feeding. So besides her, the book is a must, some spare clothes, and a mirror big enough for mali too pull that trick of hers, just in case.
Maybe some kind of weapon just in case? Not that I could use it, but...it'd make me feel a bit safer whereever I go.
I sigh and lay back. Can't beileve I am doing this, mom would ground me for a decade or two if she found out about it.
So I'll either have to convince her to let me leave for this...or...
Or I could distract her.
I feel something rub against my back, and sit up and look under me.
What's Mali's dress doing up here? is she...
I sigh and shake my head
What do I do?
[] Call malizeral
[]Go try and find her
[] try to copy mali's mirror trick
[] Procure jenny
[] tell my plan to one of my siblings
[]try the dress on
[]Say Malizeral sit, test how far the range of her name actually is
[] just go and ask mom if I can go on a trip

also taking suggestion for traits you'd like to see as choices
Eating raw flesh of immortal races (elves, orcs, goblins and trolls) rejuvenates the mortal races (humans, halflings, dwarfs) and also works as panacea (immortal races never get sick)
Any suggestion how to make this work, without coming up too creepy.
Why though?
Seems like half a step away from troll farms and goblin ranches.
>>47890619
Put it into a setting with like a dozen other such remedies. All others don't work
Horn of rhino, fin of shark and so on.Make it seem like a stupid superstition since it's rare to meet people who actually want to murder sentient beings and eat their flesh raw. Since that's really unhealthy and hard to hunt since you know, fight back and really mistrustful of humans, halflings and dwarves because of that supersition.
This auto-smite mentality when it comes to fiends needs to stop. Evil is a subtype, not just an alignment! They can be flavors of good and neutral and still be affected by detect evil/smite!
>>47880996
The way to fix this is obvious.
Doesn't any alignment sub-type dictate alignment? Even if not explicitly stated by the rules, *ALL* WotC/Paizo bestiary entries that have alignment sub-types are of that alignment.
Although even if I'm a LG, I'm the type of player who loves a good story arc, so no matter what I'm playing, my characters will always have a soft spot for the silver tongues of devils, and the soothing voice of demons. Because that's what makes stories interesting, to me at least.
And hell, when I'm GMing, I'll let the party parley with evil spirits, if they want to. If, those spirits can understand the party, anyway.
>>47880996
Nah, cleave and smite evil.
Why are Barbarians so fucking awesome?
Maybe you just like muscled men
>>47880738
They know what's best in life.
They're typically a very effective martial class with a lot of room for interpretation.
The barbarian can be anything from a tribal warrior to a chubby city-dweller that knows how to get *really* angry during brawls, or a shock trooper that's able to enter a martial trance in the thick of battle.
What are some interesting ways to roleplay a healing-focused character aside from the "goody-two-shoes pacifist who is a friend to all living things" cliche?
Pic is the only example I can think of that defies the cliche.
>>47880542
Like a cranky, overworked doctor who's fed up with his patients for constantly getting injured in the exact same ways over and over again god damn it, Torvald, learn to duck!
Doeth thomeone need me to lend a hand?
Someone driven by curiosity more than a desire to help others. Modern medical science may be tame and clean but a lot of gruesome things had to be done to learn our methods.
I'd suggest a field-researcher healer who doesn't really care about the well-being of the rest of the party because he likes them, but because it is in his interests that they survive because they bring him closer to whatever goals he has.

For that one
Why are there so many gamers out there who are against even the slightest amount of optimization? Ironically by being so against optimization they're setting their players up for cookie cutter stats and just stupidly weak and boring characters. Don't get me wrong, there's nothing with playing a weak character or low powered setting, but some of these nerds take it to the next level of retarded.
Examples would help, I've never really run into this.
>>47872977
I've met DM's and players who are against something as simple as a rogue optimized for backstabbing. You know. Taking thug, rogue, that one class from the book of weeaboo magic, and some others to really crank it up. Which story wise could still work. They just get a wild hair up their ass for no reason, which is funny considering a core wizard could destroy them by mid level.
This isn't a thing that has ever happened to anyone, OP.
Good morning boys and girls, welcome back to AAJ! Sorry for no thread over the weekend- I was unfortunately away from my computer all weekend, but now we're back!
Player A activates ability one of Gideon, Ally of Zendikar, putting him at 5 devotion, then moves to combat, and attacks with Gideon. Player B blocks with a 2/1 and a 3/2.
Before damage is dealt, Player B casts Skullcrack.
What is the final board state post combat?
>>47871738
Well, damage can't be prevented this turn, so Gideon takes 5 damage. This will mark 5 damage on him since he's a Creature, and remove 5 loyalty from him since he's a Planeswalker. He won't be destroyed from lethal damage, because Indestructible, but he will be put into the graveyard as a state-based action for having 0 loyalty.
So, end board state is that Gideon, the 2/1, and the 3/2 are all dead.
So, are there any other tabletop games out here that literally require judges to explain the many many many rulings?
