ITT we confuse the mathsfags
[math] -20 = -20 [/math]
[math] 25 - 45 = 16 - 36 [/math]
[math]5^2 - (5 \times 9) = 4^2 - (4 \times 9) [/math]
[math]5^2 - (5 \times 9) + \frac{81}{4}= 4^2 - (4 \times 9) + \frac{81}{4} [/math]
[math](5-\frac{9}{2})^2 = (4-\frac{9}{2})^2 [/math]
[math]5-\frac{9}{2}= 4-\frac{9}{2} [/math]
[math] 5 = 4 [/math]
checkmate mathfags
[math] \int tan(x)dx = \int tan(x)dx [/math]
[math] \int tan(x)dx = \int sin(x)sec(x)dx [/math]
[math] \int tan(x)dx = -sec(x)cos(x) + \int cos(x)tan(x)sec(x)dx [/math]
[math] \int tan(x)dx = -1 + \int tan(x) dx [/math]
[math] 0 = -1 [/math]
Line 5 does not imply line 6
>conventional current is positive particle flow
>in reality, protons don't actually flow
Why is this allowed?
Physicsfags will defend this.

Because Heisenberg's uncertainty principle, how would you know they are moving or not moving, they could be moving and not moving at the same time. They are there, they may not be there. They can be everywhere at the same time, do you understand? You've brought this upon yourself, you've brought quantum mechanics into this.
>>7789750
It's called a *convention* for a reason. It affects nothing and everyone uses it.
>>7789767
Much like how the geocentric model was a convention that everybody used affecting nobody.

Relative to an external observer circle A revolves 4 times because circle A's centre is also rotating, relative to Circle B circle A revolves 3 times as circle A's centre is stationary. Clearly the answer is either 3 and 4, and in this case 3 is an acceptable choice as 4 is not presented.

That wasn't so dfficult, try harder next time
After smoking a cigarette, is gargling with carbonated water any better at removing toxins than normal water? Why? Is Moot actually a homosexual?
>>7789692
Just don't smoke and you won't need to targle anything. Not that it would stop OP from gargling cum.
Thinking comparatively to genes, in what way could a meme be classified as fit within its environment?
Could we build a model to find which memes are most fit and use it to usher in a new decade of incredibly dank memes?
If a meme is the social equivalent of a gene, then imagemacros are really more than just a singular meme, it seems like they are the social equivalent of an organism with many memes describing it.
It's easier to measure the fitness of an organism than it is to determine the cause of its fitness.
Anyone attending the HOSA Canada conference in March?
What event are you doing?
June this year, Canadian Nuclear Society Annual Conference.
Some guy on /b wants this message to be encrypted A73 1839 F91 people on /b are talking about area codes and all that nonsense but I think it's just a secret language. The only ones I would guess are thr ceaser cipher or rail cipher but Im not sure about that stuff. Any of you /sci people wanna try and solve it?
>>7789631
>encrypted
They probably want it decrypted.

I was not paying attention Jesus christ thats a autistic mistake for the books
Currently at Barnes at noble. Should I get this for my physics I class this semester? Store closes in an hour.

why? this shit has been around for hundreds of years, there are literally dozens of other books on the subject that are way better.
Lets check how smart /sci/ really is.
Solve this without using a calculator.
>A) Every day 5 winners are chosen with a pool of 2000 people.
>B) Every week 35 winners are chosen from a pool of 8500 people.
>C) Every month 150 winners are chosen from a pool of 44000 people.
As a participant, in which option do you have the highest chance of winning?
>>7789574
Assuming nobody is a winner twice, A by a long shot
everyone wins in A in about 400 days =~ 1 year
everyone wins in B in about 250 weeks =~5 years
everyone wins in C in about 300 months = ~25 years
normalized by multiplying by 44000/n, values are
A) 22 years/Cperson
B) 25 years/Cperson
C) 25 years/Cperson
I don't expect the media to be science or tech savvy but unless they're reporting figures wrong just what the fuck is up with Bombardier?
12,427 miles in 22 minutes is
33,892 miles an hour. That's almost twice orbital velocity. That's the speed of deep space probes. They'd miss Dubai on their way to Pluto. Do they expect to use the Earth's atmosphere to push the plane back towards the ground like a centrifuge? What would they even make it out of?

The plane simply floats up then rotates the earth around until it is floating above it's destination
I've been a Kurzweil follower for a long time. How many /sci/entists are true believers that we'll reach AI in 2029 and quickly reach the singularity soon thereafter? I live in Silicon Valley and there are still so many people that are blind here. If you are actually a true believer, how do you cope?
The notion that we might pierce the veil of reality in a continuous arc from our current consciousnesses has caused me to go a little bit insane. It makes the universe so much more mysterious and my life seem so much weirder.
WHY ME. WHY SHOULD ANY OF US BE THE ONES TO GO ON THIS JOURNEY?
WHO THE FUCK ARE WE. WHY AM I ME.
if its any comfort anon, even it did get invented, you would probably be too poor to afford it :3
>>7789532
Afford what? Strong AI? Immortality? You have no idea how much money I have anyway :333
Anyway, I believe that we will become quasi communists and roughly equally divide the value of the gains discovered by the strong AI explosion. If we don't, I'll be among the first to rebel against those who think they deserve to hoard the value from strong AI.
>>7789526
Why is OP always a fucking faggot?
Is there a good book on physics for someone self-teaching themselves that explains all the principles in a simple manner, basic stuff?
I'd like a book that contains mechanics to nuclear physics basics, basically HS physics. I'm currently doing Khan only, wanna expand a bit.

i'm using the halliday - resnick - krane at my uni
it is well written and simple to comprehend imho
Young Freedman has a usefull book too.
